Stumbled upon this place after a hike, took a chance and was not disappointed. Family owned restaurant, they work quickly and efficiently. As soon as we sat down, we had a feeling it'd be good. It's not super clean nor modern, it's very no frills, unassuming both inside and out with decor such as photos of the King of Thailand on the walls. For food, we ordered the combo seafood kha-prow, which had calamari, shrimp, and Thai basil, as well as the kai-yang, Thai style BBQ chicken. The kha-prow had a nice subtle kick to it and the BBQ chicken was delicious! Super juicy, a great char to it, with some nice sauces served with it. We had this with jasmine rice. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice and the coconut ice cream, both excellent. There was a slight hiccup on our bill, it had things crossed out/written over (small business style) and they made a mistake, but no worries, we pointed it out and they fixed it. Also, calculate your own tip, as the percentages shown are based on the totals, not the subtotals as it should be.

Want good Thai for the buck, come to Pacifica Thai. * We ordered so much for two, the staff ensured the food tasted great. * What makes this place special is the history and personal feeling and touch by the staff! The chips were super yummy for me and my friend after an afternoon at the skate park!!

We had a delicious lunch at Pacifica Thai cuisine with family today; there were eight in our party. The service was superb and friendly. This is a real family business. Appetizers included fish cakes and Chicken Satay (kebabs). I had the chicken Pad See Ew, and my husband had the Shrimp Pad Thai Noodles. I'm not sure what everyone else was having. We all shared Mango sticky rice for dessert. Though the fare was pricier than we had expected, it seems that eating out anywhere these days is expensive - even McDonald's! The experience was worth the extra, for us. We will return for special occasions.

Note: Good about gluten stuff (for intolerants at least)... Offered wheat free soy sauce. Have a feeling this place stays alive based on generosity and sweet vibes. Food is hugely portioned... My pad Thai is easily two portions. And The sweet lady that served me (owner?) was fun and friendly to talk to and threw in an extra tapioca pudding. This is Maybe in the bottom 30% of pad Thai's I have ever had but it's not terrible. Salad Kaak leaves a lot to be desired with the iceberg lettuce and potato chips. Decor is pretty basic, especially the bathroom.

Very warm welcoming feeling as soon as we entered the restaurant. Quick and friendly service. I didn't even have to ask for refills, dessert, or a box to take home. They were already on it. Delicious food, I wish I would've taken a picture, but was too busy stuffing my face. Now, what really got me, was when she packed my to go bag for me, she put a fresh cup of rice. I've never had that happen. Would definitely return in my next visit please support local businesses.

Came here one night with friends since we all decided to check out something new. I love a good Thai place and this one did not disappoint! We got their Tom Yum Kai which was perfect since it was one of those cool nights and this soup was perfect and satisfied each of us. Didn't expect one of server would come out and serve us the soup. The place is a little old but the food we had was delicious and recommended to other friends and you should try when in town!

I was finishing off a hike around Mori Point when I thought I'd pick up some takeout food before heading home. I really had no idea what to expect. I guess I was in the mood for Thai food and just didn't want to make an emotional investment in it. I walked over from the trailhead and entered an empty restaurant save one young bewildered-looking couple. I ordered a couple of dishes. The entree was the $9.95 A Pad Suki Yaki, definitely a kitchen sink pile of glass noodles mixed with prawns, squid, chicken, tofu, egg, bean sprouts, Napa cabbage, green onions, and ground peanuts (photo: https://yelp.to/ifTg2lGG4B). It was OK but kind of a mess. I was also disappointed by the absence of pan-fried noodles as described in the menu. Better was my side dish, the $6.95 Vegetarian's Delight which consisted of pieces of deep-fried tofu and taro root (photo: https://yelp.to/Ttd4HtHAy9). While I didn't care for the too-sweet homemade sauce, the veggie take on fries actually worked. Despite my disappointments, I might come back for the barbecue or one of the curries, but to be honest, I'm not in a hurry. FOOD - 3 stars...middling mess with random high points AMBIANCE - 3 stars...pretty sparse SERVICE - 3 stars...quickly packaged TOTAL - 3 stars...kinda off RELATED - Exploring the peninsula south of San Francisco? No TSA. No baggage fees. No middle seat. So here we are in South San Francisco at White Elephant Restaurant, ready for a little culinary tourism. First up...Papaya Salad aka Som Tum. Fresh, crunchy green papaya, beans, and peanuts delivered that wonderful Thai balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Crisp, tangy, refreshing...and then...HELLO CHILI PEPPER!!! A perfect wake-up call for the taste buds. While perusing the menu, however, my eyes suddenly locked onto one magical word...BACON. Wait...BACON?!?!? Enter the Prawn Rolls...bacon-wrapped prawns tucked inside wonton wrappers, golden-fried and served with sweet chili sauce. Whoever decided prawns needed to be wrapped in bacon, wrapped AGAIN in wonton skin, and dropped into hot oil...I salute you. Crispy outside, juicy inside, smoky from the bacon, then sweet and spicy from the chili sauce. Every bite soothed my gushing taste buds!!! Apparently, bacon speaks fluent Thai. Next came the Basil Fish which was a medley of golden-fried snapper fillets sautéed with basil, garlic, onions, bell peppers, and chilies in a spicy red sauce. The fish remained crisp outside and tender inside, while the basil, garlic, peppers, and chilies created this wonderful aromatic combination of savory, spicy goodness. Soooo goooood!!! But you can't dine at a Thai restaurant without ordering curry and I'm pretty sure that's somewhere in the international dining rulebook. Our Red Curry with Beef arrived simmering with beef, bamboo shoots, basil, bell peppers, and coconut milk. One spoonful...and there it was. That wonderful velvety richness of coconut milk balancing the curry's heat and umami depth with subtle sweetness. Rich without becoming heavy, spicy without requiring emergency assistance. You GOTTA order this one. And don't forget the rice! The Crab Fried Rice mingled succulent crab meat with fragrant jasmine rice, delivering sweet crab flavor among beautifully seasoned grains. It wasn't merely a side dish. It was the supporting actor stealing scenes from the movie. Finally...Thai Mango Sticky Rice. Sweet ripe mango, chewy glutinous rice, coconut milk, and coconut cream. After an evening of sweet, sour, salty, spicy, crispy, garlicky, and bacony goodness, this dessert arrived like a massage therapist saying..."You've had a long evening. I'll take it from here." Sweet, creamy, tropical, and refreshing. Overall: 5 stars. The Som Tum woke up the palate. The Prawn Rolls proved bacon improves international diplomacy. The Basil Fish delivered crispy, spicy goodness. The Red Curry with Beef brought coconut-rich comfort. The Crab Fried Rice satisfied, and the Mango Sticky Rice landed the plane. White Elephant has been part of the South San Francisco dining landscape for more than 20 years, and I hope we're eating here for another 20. Culinary passport stamped. Bacon discovered. Curry consumed. Taste buds satisfied. Come hungry...and Go Big!!!

It's a decent local Thai spot, but I did find the food to be average. It was good but underwhelming. What we ordered: Pad Thai Papaya Salad Eggrolls Mango Sticky Rice FOOD: 7/10 The food was fine overall, but nothing really stood out this time. It just didn't have that wow factor that makes me want to come back right away. It's good in a pinch if you're nearby and craving Thai food, but not super memorable compared to other spots in the Bay. SERVICE: 8/10 Service was fine and standard. The lady who served us was very nice. AMBIANCE: 7/10 The restaurant itself is casual and comfortable, with a simple, neighborhood Thai spot feel. I did really like the artwork and paintings throughout, as well as the small shrine they have, which added character and authentic culture to the space. The lighting pieces were also a nice touch. Overall, White Elephant is an okay go-to if you're nearby and want something quick and familiar, but it's not a place I'd go out of my way for.

The vodka was 24% vs. 40% proof due to their limited liquor license. 4/5 BRUSSELS SPROUTS AND FRIES ~ "Fried Brussels sprouts and French fries served with pesto mayo dipping." ** It came piping hot, and both the Brussels sprouts and fries were lightly crispy! But the pesto mayo didn't quite have a strong pesto flavor. Still, it's a good starter! 4/5 "HAT YAI" FRIED CHICKEN AND VANILLA WAFFLES ~ "Southern of Thailand-Style fried chicken and vanilla waffles, served with fresh fruit and maple syrup." ** Chicken was hot and crunchy, while the waffle was soft. I actually waited to try the waffles because the amount of delicious chicken on top was amazingly generous! Everything was beautifully prepared and presented, with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, seasonal fruit, and a side of maple syrup for dipping. 5/5 CRISPY CHICKEN BENEDICT ~ "Crispy chicken, poached eggs, pesto mayo and hollandaise sauce." ** The 2 eggs were done perfectly oozy! The chicken couldn't hold its crispy crunchiness with the eggs Benedict on top. However, it was still yummy! 4/5 Definitely IG-worthy! Service was top-notch, and the food was about a 4.5-star rating for the dishes we ordered. Now I understand why they were super busy when this spot opened! Overall, we enjoyed our entrees and thought it was one of the better brunch spots we've been to thus far. Glad we got the chance to try it!
