The sign out front says Anime and its the reason we stopped by but after calling the number it turns out its an escape room. It looked cool, so we decided to have my Daughters birthday there. The price was right and the girls had a lot of fun. After they escaped we were able to have some pizza and cupcakes in the room. We had two 11-year old girls celebrating their birthdays at this amazing escape room, with 10 girl participating in the adventure. We had a blast. The facilitators were accommodating (gave the girls 20 minutes more to complete the mission). They even let us have pizza and cake at the place after. 3 of us total went to try the Muder Mystery room and in comparison to the other 20+ rooms we have done together, this one didn't have a good story line. It was meh... I would give the staff 4/5 stars because they were friendly and nice. The restrooms unfortunately are all the way in the outside to the back because they have their game master room in the middle of the building which means you have to leave the front of the door and walk towards the back. Basically the restrooms and the game master room was separated by a curtain. The game itself had a variety of puzzles but none of which I felt like really connected with the theme. Which is why I would give it a 3/5. I felt like the puzzles were pretty scattered and low production in comparison to others around the area. I heard there is another room but probably wont be going back. I had to go to another escape room tonight to make up for the lack of climatic ending. Just for an FYI, we didn't get out but not taken into account of the amount of stars given. We had one last puzzle to solve. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking to do an escape room for our very first time. We found this place and honestly it's amazing! For starters, it doesn't even look like an escape from from the outside. It's actually or used to be an anime store but once you enter there are two doors. Before you walk in your guide is really helpful and super cool and you honestly had the best time. TLDR: I'm probably never going back, but I say this is a good first escape room because if you get the gist of how to do an escape room (puzzle here with clue there, work together to find things, etc). Because the lack of theatrics, unexplained story line, and generally poor customization of the room I had to give it a 2/5. I did the Mystery House This is a great room for first-timers. It was direct and incorporated a lot of puzzles. Overall, we had fun and got out but there were a few things that knocked this down from a 5/5. Overall review: 2/5 Credentials: I've done 38 escape rooms (including this one) and counting, mostly in the SF Bay area and Los Angeles but a few stretching out across the country. Some have seen some absolutely garbage escape rooms and some were so well put together, you would actually think you were trapped in a asylum/spaceship/evil lab/etc. Breakdown of the review: Story: 1/5 This is a pretty straightforward story. People have been disappearing, you are trapped in what-is-assumed the abductor's house, get out in thirty minutes using what is in the house to solve puzzles. My problem with this is that I would not know that people were being abducted had I not read the description on the website. The room starts with a pre-recorded explainer (extremely quiet by the way, we basically had to press our ear to the monitor) but it never mentions the previously mentioned people disappearing. There was no foundation when we started, we were basically just told to get out of the room within 60 minutes or we would end up dead/lost/forgotten(?) Staff: 4/5 The fellow who was our game master was really nice when we arrived and got us setup pretty quickly. He was clear, concise and very to the point going through the rules. Although this fellow was really nice, I did not sense a lot of enthusiasm and there was no theatrics to set the stage for he game. I'm not asking for someone to jump out of a hole in the wall with fog and lasers, but a little stage setting is always better than none. Production Value: 2/5 The place is small and a lot of the props well maintained. There were no broken locks or anything dangerous, but the effort put into the decor and puzzles is mediocre at best. I am also not a fan of how the lighting is setup in this room. I won't say more than it was dark and I have no clue why. Not to sound a million years old, but escape rooms are tests of the brain, not tests of vision. Some other production value negatives... - We also had some technical difficulties with our monitor (that was used to give us the time remaining and hints). - We had to use walkies-talkies to ask for hints and the sign in sheet was on paper. This is extremely old school and low budget. - Getting out is just the noise of the door automatically unlocking. If you add a spring, that door would auto-open. Come on man. - You can hear the other room being played. My guess is they could hear us too. I feel like that could give us an unfair advantage if we tried to do that room next and vice versa. Puzzles: 3/5 There was an excellent variety of puzzles. Most of them were visual (math, word association, etc) and no tactile, no audio and no spatial puzzles insight (personally I loathe audio and spatial puzzles - so that works for me). They utilized a variety of locking/unlocking tools, which is great in comparison to those rooms that are just lock, after lock, after lock, after... lock. The only downside with these puzzles was the customization was mainly basic woodworking and handwritten notes. I'd like to see more incorporation of RFID readers, infrared readers or other mediums of puzzles (metal, plastic, etc). read more

Super fun! My husband and I have probably done 25+ escape rooms both in the Bay and in other states and countries. (You would think we're really good at them, but no we just enjoy them .) We did the Mystery Room and didn't escape in time (got out in just over an hour). The host was really attentive (he wasn't in the room, but I guess from the monitors he could tell when we were struggling) and asked if we wanted clues at just the right times. He was super nice and friendly too and is why I give this place five stars instead of the four I would probably give just for the room itself. Storyline and theme was just okay, but it was still an overall good time. Would recommend this for a fun little date, the room is doable by two people. read more

My friends and I had a great time doing The Murder Mystery room. I'm super glad we went! They were pretty flexible. I had a "let's do an escape room" impulse at 5:30PM and we were in by 8PM. Pricing is also pretty reasonable, at about $35 per person. I thought the puzzles were pretty good. If you do a lot of escape rooms, you'll be familiar with 80-90% of the puzzles. That being said, I don't think it'll be overly easy. It's not the most thematically-inspired room in terms of props / storyline. But the puzzles and mechanisms are good quality, so don't let that deter you. Plus, our game host dude was pretty attentive. We got stuck (we played ourselves, oops...) and he gave appropriate hints as needed without spoiling any of the mystery. They have an easier room, too--I'll probably be back with first-time escape room friends. read more

I did the murder room with a group of my friends. We worked out butts off to figure out the puzzles and beat the room with 1 minute and 30 seconds left before the hour expired. The room as challenging but totally doable. Keep yourself organized and have fun! Great way to build team spirit and have a fun group date. Best tip is to embrace the experience, lose yourself in the game and you'll have a great time. The PEZ crew was very helpful and the rooms were very well done. 5/5 would recommend. read more

I went with my SO to finally get my first escape room done(she had done several before), and we were paired up with another couple to complete the murder took scenario. It had taken us 5 clues, and we finished with 21 secs left. As a first time experience I had found it challenging yet fair with the puzzles and initial set up of room. I'd easily recommend this to new comers and intermediate escape roomers(idk what they're called). Go ahead and give this place a good run for its money! read more
