    Smash room set up
    Michele D.

This was a more immersive experience than I expected. The room isn't much to look at, but they have color lights and play music, there's a ton of protective gear they provide, and plenty of different tools to use for smashing glass. I quite enjoyed the tire iron and sledge hammer. The experience is so unique and can be whatever you want it to be: therapeutic, stress relieving, a way to rewrite a difficult moment. What surprised me (in a good way) was how they led us into this peaceful room after we finished and took off all our protective gear. The room had peaceful music playing, paper to draw and reflect on provided questions, and sparkling water and snacks. It was a well thought out way to decompress. Disclaimer: wear boots! I definitely had to pick out glass shards from the foam bottoms of my running shoes.

If I could give six stars I absolutely would. It was an amazing experience getting to let out my pent-up rage and break stuff against the wall I particularly enjoyed the sledgehammer and crowbar. The baseball bat was also particularly satisfying. Max was very hospital and took great care of us. After breaking all sorts of stuff we were taken to a decompression room where the ambience was very relaxed and the complete opposite of what I just experienced. She offered us cold drinks which I definitely took her up on and had myself a kind bar. I am now feeling more centered and now that the rage is out of my system I'm feeling happy and ready to take on the rest of the evening I strongly encourage you to check this out.

My boyfriend and I went on a date night and it did NOT disappoint! We were greeted by our guide, Morgan, and went to the prep room. We signed our waivers, watched the instructional/safety video, then suited up! The rage was AWESOME. We were able to use our own music which helped us get in the zone. Smashing the bottles was therapeutic and using a sledgehammer made me feel alive! My partner and I communicated well in there which made it all the more fun. Afterward, we went to the decompression room where we got to clear our minds and bodies creatively through pictures and words. Throughout the experience, Morgan was friendly, personable, funny, and our safety was her first priority which I greatly appreciate. All in all, 10/10 recommend. We are from LA and this was a great place to come to add to the SF experience! Thank you Morgan and Glass Ceiling!

Nice way to blow off steam. I screamed my ass off and cried which I didn't expect to do. Some of the items get redundant but the amount of time & 3 ppl is just enough not to get bored. We had a tv in there and plenty of bottles

A very much needed activity. I dare say it's definitely is one of the best mother-daughter activities you can do! Learned a lot about my mom through this lol! Jenn was such a great host and we had an amazing time. She was very attentive, and I absolutely love how this place has a decompression room as well. Even if you don't "deal with rage" it definitely is a really great workout/decompressor. 10/10 recommend!

The best Escape room in San Francisco! So immersive and fun!…read moreWe took the family and everyone enjoyed it (although not the most interesting for very young kids). I'd say the Edison room is my favorite so far. The thoughtfulness in clues and gags are amazing!! You really get what you pay for here- it is expensive for what it is but the level of detail has far surpassed other escape rooms I've seen. A+ for the props department!

Very concerning experience…read more (Understandable) We visited Palace Games recently and were instructed by staff to place all personal belongings in a designated basket area before entering the game. The basket was located outside of the game room and remained out of our sight for the entire duration (~2 hours). (Incident) After the game, we discovered that a wallet valued at $1000+ (including cash and multiple cards such as ID and credit cards) was missing. Based on the noticeable weight difference before and after, we were able to reasonably determine that the item went missing during the game time. (Their Action) We requested assistance immediately and asked to review surveillance footage. Initially, we were told that the footage would need to be "retrieved through a third-party vendor" and that we would be contacted later -- however, no one followed up. The following day, after multiple attempts to reach them, we were informed that the "vendor was unavailable (PTO) "and the footage could not be accessed at this point. Later, a manager called and stated that there is no recording at all (⁉), only live monitoring on site. When we asked for confirmation of this and whether we could document the conversation, the call was abruptly ended Subsequent attempts to follow up have gone unanswered. Additionally, on the game day, we felt rushed to leave immediately after the game ended, even though our scheduled end time was 4:00 PM and it was only around 3:45 PM at that point. This made it more difficult to properly check our belongings around the game area. We followed all instructions provided by staff, yet there appears to be no secure storage, no accessible review process, and no clear accountability when something goes wrong. Their responses were inconsistent and changed over time. the incident has NOT yet been addressed at this point. We are sharing this experience for transparency regarding how personal belongings are handled and how incidents are addressed. Update: The owner has reached out to us, apologized, and showed us the available surveillance footage. The footage only covers the lobby and hallway areas and does not include the room where personal belongings are placed, so it was not possible to determine what happened. We appreciate the follow-up and the owner's sincere attitude. However, this situation highlights that the designated storage area for customer belongings currently has no surveillance coverage or secure storage. We hope additional measures (such as lockers or better monitoring) can be implemented in the future to prevent similar incidents. While we acknowledge their efforts to address the situation, we are keeping our original rating to reflect our experience.
