We will return.....lovely caring people. A 4 week old kitten walked out of the forest and asked us for help. This was the only vet that got me in immediately. Kitten hadn't eaten in a week, having lost his mom. Doctor educated us on food and care. A week later, he's well fed and active. Going back to vet soon for check up.

They let us come in, accommodated the time we requested, they were kind and patient, and the vet that assisted us was very empathetic, talked me through our decision, and let me have the time I needed. They were also very reasonable on the cost. When we are ready for another family member to join our home I hope we can get into them for our veterinary needs.

On Sunday morning they sent out their automated text message to ask "How Bennelli was doing ", we responded with "She DIED". No response from the office since notifying them . I trusted them with my dog, I am so heartbroken I can't even imagine why they have not responded to such a devastating outcome. If they cared so much, why don't they care to know or care about the outcome? I have never cried so much in my lifetime. Update: Dr Codd called me mid afternoon saying he just found out that Bennelli had passed. He apologized, offered condolences to entire family and later that day completed an autopsy. After speaking with him, I feel he was indeed sorry for the loss. As for his crew, I don't think they are really concerned. It was a horrid day for me, taking her body to the clinic only to be met with a seemingly confused staff. Where do I take the body? Response was "Out back". Okay. No one to meet me there, had to call a second time for understanding, as to where or which door was out back. Finally three people arrived at the door. One offered condolences, the others seemed uncomfortable and not really concerned. So for these reasons the one star remains appropriate for my experience with this crew.

Called the office to let them know and she does not care enough to call and ask what happened. Be careful if you love your baby find a vet that is not so money driven, find one that cares about your baby and you. He was only 4 years old. I have been taking my 3 animals to this vet for about 4 years or so; the previous veterinarian quit…read morerecently, and she was great. My most recent issue is the staff that works the front counter and primarily deals with check in, receiving animals weight and payment prior to leaving. They are extremely disrespectful, impatient and are not educated in the field. They also lost or misplaced our animal records: including medication, vaccination and prior surgery records. Thankfully we will keep copies of all the records. On top of that the staff was selling us the incorrect dosage and weight hip vitamin for our smaller dog. There is plenty of veterinary hospitals and or offices in the Grants Pass area. I would avoid this location at all costs.

Her demeanor is friendly, while professional and extremely knowledgeable--and she communicates with our dogs and cats extremely well...making them at feel at ease--even when under stress of an (what is to them an) unfamiliar environment. As another reviewer stated (and I agree) foremost on her mind is the well being of your pet---not letting your (the owners) emotions get in the way of your pet's best interest---which rightly SHOULD top priority of any Vet's interest. When need be, she is firm in the best interest of your animal--while YOU may be falling apart emotionally, and that is definitely a PLUS in my book! 5 STARS for Dr. Heidi !!!

To the scathing 1star reviews: Dr. Heidi is there for your pet, not for you, and I am 100% positive…read moreyour pet does not find her "rude" or "abrasive" or lacking in empathy in any way. Maybe she's better with animals. Maybe that's why she's a vet. I found Dr. H. to be a stunningly intelligent person and a very apt clinician who, no, will not spare your feelings when it comes to your ignorance or the wellbeing of your animal. She is, however, very willing and able to meet YOU half way if you're willing to talk as directly as she does (and maybe interrupt if need be!). But these reviews have me better understanding why she took her multiple medical degrees into veterinary work instead of having to deal with humans. (And there is absolutely NO way that this woman replied "it's just a dog" in the context the reviewer described. The are mistaken in their interpretation of this verbiage, I guarantee it.)

I scheduled an establishing appointment for my 12-month-old lab to discuss vaccines, neutering, and…read moremicrochipping, as well as to address my concerns about his past severe reaction to puppy vaccines. When I called to make the appointment, I explained that I was nervous about proceeding with vaccinations due to his previous reaction and wanted a detailed discussion to help me prepare. I was assured that we would have a discussion regarding the previous reaction and a plan on how to move forward, but unfortunately, that did not happen. I was given a single sheet listing vaccines and their purposes(that I had to press for), but nothing addressing my specific concerns about adverse reactions or a personalized plan for my dog. I tried asking specific questions regarding the neutering--such as whether he would need a cone after surgery and if he could be around his brother afterward--but instead of receiving basic information, I was simply told, "We will go over that when you come in for the appointment." That was the whole reason I made this appointment in the first place. They let me know they had discharge paperwork. When I asked for discharge paperwork to review in advance, I was told they would provide it later. They mentioned they could build me a packet with all kinds of information, but it wouldn't be ready today- despite me clearly outlining what I needed before the appointment. The actual visit felt rushed and uninformative. My dog was weighed, given a quick visual check, and that was it--yet the cost was $62. My boyfriend's 4-year-old dog had the same experience and was also charged $62 (we brought them together) Additionally, when we asked for their nails to be trimmed, my dog moved slightly after the cut, and we were immediately told he would need to be sedated to finish. This was his first time there, and a little nervousness should have been expected. On top of all of this, our appointments were scheduled for 4 PM. We arrived 15 minutes early to provide records and complete any paperwork, yet we weren't called back until nearly 4:30--only to receive a basic weigh-in and visual check. I was really hoping for a more thorough and informative visit, especially given the specific concerns I expressed in advance. Unfortunately, the experience left me feeling unprepared and uncertain about the next steps for my dog's care.
