I'm new to town & have had the joyous task of finding a new 'lady doctor'. I tried to find as many…read morereviews on local doctors as I could, but being that this is a pretty small town there isn't much out there. Sometimes it seems the people of Kitsap county haven't even heard of Yelp yet. Quimby had the best reviews that I could find through other sources but the reviews for her staff were nothing short of ghastly. My first attempt at making an appointment with her didn't go very well. The phone conversation with the receptionist was less than productive and it seemed the soonest I could get in would be months away. I decided to look around & met with another doctor with great reviews but he seemed a bit cold. I tried again to set up an appointment with Quimby through the dreaded staff and was much more successful the second time around, only waiting a month or so to get in. Now I've only met with Doc Quimby once, as a 'meet & greet' and to discuss a couple little issues & future planning, but I INSTANTLY liked her. I felt comfortable and it was informal, relaxed, and just all around a very productive appointment. She just seemed awesome. And I have nothing bad to say about the staff either. Once I checked in my wait was only about 15 minutes max, and they were very friendly and nothing like the ghastly reviews. They mailed me all the history paperwork I needed to fill out beforehand and thanked me graciously for handing it in filled out when I arrived. I hope to update this review to a full 5 stars after a few more visits, but I figured after just 1 time I shouldn't set the bar too high. It looks as though I'm the first person to write a review for Quimby on here too, hopefully this will prompt more people to do the same for her and other local doctors. It's hard moving to a new town and having to find all new doctors w/no friends or family to turn to for references. But so far I'm very excited and look forward to seeing Quimby for many years to come!

HOWEVER her front staff is the WORST I HAVE EVER DELT WITH IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. These people are just plain rude and don't care about doing their job right. I was told at one appointment that I owed money around 300$! I was then told I NEED to pay or cannot be seen again.... Without an explanation of what It was for. I insisted on asking what it was for and after 15 minutes of her asking around she told me it was a mistake. Ok. Fine everyone makes mistakes. Sure. Next appointment I get told the same thing..by the same person. When I told her it was a mistake she got very annoyed with me and said "probably not, you have to pay it". EXCUSE ME? Then after 20 mins she said it wasn't supposed to be there. Thanks. Made sure she took it off for next time. Also they are HORRIBLE on the phone. If you want to feel stupid for not knowing where your paperwork is in their office give them a call! Want to try and get a form filled out for insurance? Have it get lost twice and battle with them to just down load it online! Feel horrible after hours? Have an on call nurse give you an attitude & tell you "I don't know" repeatedly! I could go on about all the incidents in the last 11 months but you get the point. Its a shame Quimby is such a great doctor that landed with such horrible staff. I battled with the staff more than I got to spend time with quimby for that reason I will not be returning.

Have you experienced extreme pain having an IUD installed? PLEASE go to this facility if you'd like…read moreto be on anesthesia for an IUD procedure. The anesthesia will very likely be out of pocket cost, but it was worth every penny! Now for the rest of my review: After experiencing horrendous care at other OBGYN facilities in my more local area, I was first terrified to change to this location for an IUD procedure but I was recommended it by a friend. The doctor called me ahead of my procedure to answer any questions and he was super kind over the phone making me feel so much more comfortable. Day of the procedure there was a bit of a wait as it was filled with appointments. But the waiting room was nice as we all got to watch a Netflix show to pass the time. Once I was called in, the staff were very nice and very efficient to get me ready. And the anesthesiologist was so funny my nerves were completely settled before they put me under. Next I remember being fully dressed and they guided me to a low lit room with comfortable recliners that had such a peaceful ambience. The nurses were kind to answer my questions I had about how the procedure went while I was in that room which was promptly followed by the doctor who did my procedure. She came in to ask how I felt and how I was doing and I just felt an overwhelming sense of care and compassion at this facility that I've never experienced before anywhere else in medical care, I nearly cried from how happy I was. (That could have also been the after effects of the anesthesia but the emotions were still genuine). I was sent home with a little bag of overnight pads and information on my IUD device. My pain levels after never got above a 2/10, and they sent me home with a pain meds prescription for the following few days to address any cramping I might feel. I cannot put into words how thankful I am to this facility, the staff, and the doctors that made my experience here incredible, and comfortable, and safe. I don't care how long of a drive it is for me, I will always only go to this place for OBGYN needs in the future.

I received the best card ever. At first I was so nervous going in. The medical staff told me that I…read moream going to be fine and all of them were really nice and sweet.

I had a Dr who diagnosed me in 2021. Then the medical group did away with an OB/GYN specialist. Next I am seen at Naval Hospital ob/GYN a very nice captain there summer of 2024. However I was her last patient prior to her retirement. Then NHB did away with their OB/gyn specialist clinics as well. I was very apprehensive going to see the Dr that I was scheduled to see as he was a male. But beggars can't be choosers in Kitsap county. I had an urgent case and the other clinic didn't have anything until September. Long story short the male Dr I saw was AMAZING!! The staff within the clinic, Poulsbo office, were amazing. I highly recommend Dr Aaron Swenson at the Bond rd Poulsbo Clinic. I also have severe panic/anxiety disorder and the dr and the rest of the staff were so friendly and nice. As well as the other patients in the sitting room.

23 Years of Exceptional Care…read more I have been a patient of Dr. Gillian Esser for over 23 years, and I can say without hesitation that she is the most extraordinary physician I have ever worked with. Dr. Esser brings a rare combination of patience, kindness, deep understanding, and truly superlative medical expertise. She has also been my daughter's provider for over 12 years, and she feels exactly the same way. What sets Dr. Esser apart is the care and intention she brings to every visit. She takes the time to listen--really listen--and to relate, understand, and explore every possible path toward the best outcome. She is thorough, thoughtful, and consistently goes above and beyond to research, pivot, and develop the right solutions for both immediate concerns and long-term wellbeing. I have never felt rushed, dismissed, or overlooked; instead, I feel seen, supported, and genuinely cared for. Dr. Esser is not only an exceptional physician, but an exceptional human being. She ensures that I feel comfortable, informed, and secure in every decision related to my health. Her commitment to my care--both now and well into the future--is unmatched. I cannot recommend Dr. Esser highly enough. She is, quite simply, the best.

I spent over a year trying to get Dr. Dybro to take seriously my complaints of menstrual irregularity with extreme pain during menstruation. I was in my 30s, young for perimenopause. I thought I might have endometriosis. She thought I had PCOS, which test results did not support. She stood by her diagnosis because she discriminated against my body type--I have always had visceral body fat, as do most people in my family. It's our genetics. She couldn't see past that and was counseling me to develop an eating disorder: things she actually told me: "Maybe you should stop eating fruit" when I told her I was already eating a low-glycemic diet, and "It's pretty normal for women your age to be in pain." Eventually I prevailed and got an ultrasound. It showed that I had endometrial cancer. I needed emergency surgery, but I luckily caught it before it had spread to other organs. I can't even imagine what would have happened if I hadn't kept fighting for appropriate care. I started going to this clinic because I heard they were queer friendly. That may be, but they need to seriously hold Dr. Dybro accountable for rampant fatphobia (I was a size 14 at the time of treatment, I can't even imagine how larger people were treated). No one else should live with excruciating pain that turns out to be cancer for over a year because she thinks they're just eating too much fruit and their pain is "normal."
