Dr. Tanya Nazemi is a wonderful doctor. I've always dreaded going to doctors... any doctor. Any…read morespecialty. When I came down with something that a urologist would treat and have a chronic other thing that urologist can treat, I bit the bullet and went looking for a urologist. I had seen a urologist many years ago for a vasectomy. That was a horrid experience and left me with a kind of post-traumatic stress. Imagine my anxiety when I realized I needed to see a urologist again. Boy was I nervous and a little frightened when I sat in the exam room waiting to meet Dr. Nazemi the first time! Her nurse was very kind and gentle... she must have seen my state. Then Dr. Nazemi came in to see me. Right from the start, she brought my anxiety down. It must have been her Jedi mind tricks again :-) I thought she was going to do an exam, which would only have heightened my anxiety. Nope, she got what she needed by talking to me... although she did need to examine the prostate. Dr. Nazemi said I should be glad she has small fingers. Ah, a doctor with a sense of humor! Anyway, I've seen her for almost a year for one thing or another. I won't ever use another urologist. She's the best. Dr. Nazemi maintains a wonderful therapeutic relationship with me but is very careful to draw a bright line between therapy and friendship. I so very much appreciate that! Considering the fact that the nature of her medicine requires her to know pretty much everything about my... equipment and how it is used. I could never share with a friend or even a loved one at that level. I TRUST Dr. Nazemi, which is how I can share with her what she needs to know. Ok folks, it's been about 6 months since I wrote this review. I've seen Dr. Nazemi a few more times - recently for a surgical procedure. Recovery has been rocky, mostly because I am stubborn and won't rest as much as Dr. Nazemi needs me to. Still... All the good things I've said about her are more true than ever. My gosh! Never have I had such a caring, empathetic, and compassionate doctor. I am so very blessed. One of the surgical complications involves the temporary lack of functionality of my wedding tackle. Needless to say, I was distraught when I discovered the issue. In my appointment with Dr. Nazemi a couple of days later, I was almost tearful when I described the issue to her. And because she's a urologist who has seen and heard most everything, I wasn't shy about giving her clear and accurate details. She clearly listened carefully, heard my anguish and fully understood the problem. What's more, she gave me a great explanation it which put my mind at ease. The problem is temporary! Dr. Nazemi prescribed a couple of things to ease the symptoms and they're working. She cares enough about the issue to follow up with me on the phone. I am absolutely certain that she takes a very personal interest in her patients and it shows in her care. Oh yeah guys, she doesn't make house calls. That's a thing of the past, I'm afraid. No matter. You can make an appointment with her with very little lead time if it's urgent.

I love Dr. Nazemi. She has treated me and my husband for years and has been wonderful. She has…read moremoved offices and I'm happy she left Washington Urology for Swedish Urology Group in first hill since her last office wasn't that great.

The urologist I saw is a leader in her field, she teaches other physicians and also tours the country teaching. I was lucky to get her. Dr. Hehemann is her name. She has the best personality and sense of humor besides being the best at what she does. She also puts in time at the VA hospital. Being a Veteran myself I appreciate that. The whole UW Medical operation is top-shelf in my opinion and that includes Harborview as well. The entire staff at the Men's center is also top-shelf. Everyone seems concerned about the patients. My liaison for most things was Oliver. He's the scheduling coordinator and man is he good at his job. The nursing staff is also attentive and professional. I'm glad to be part of it. So here is the first review.

I was seen on time by a very professional technician who got all the preliminary things done quickly yet politely with great explanation of each thing required. My Physician Assistant was on time, listened to everything carefully and explained things clearly as well as completing a necessary exam. I was sent to the lab downstairs for specimens. That also went quickly and smoothly. The Phlebotomist (blood draw) was excellent in doing her job and being pleasant to boot. I am still in amazement at how well things went for such a large and busy clinic. There is parking under the building which is not free but sure is convenient and safe in the U District. There were plenty of open spaces. I would not hesitate to go to the UW Roosevelt Clinic again and easily recommend it. I was impressed.
