The Samoan receptionist is rude, unfriendly and lazy. She also lied to me. Please hire friendlier people.

Personnel make every effort to be both punctual and pleasant. Recently I had a CT scan. Jessica , the lab professional who did the procedure, like many of her colleagues at this location, made the entire experience comfortable and easy. I actually enjoyed this experience . . Just wanted to take a moment to commend a very effective and professional group of employees.

Unusual layout of building was more than offset when several associates asked me how they could help, always pointing me in the right directions. On their own initiative. Dr. Braunstein gave steroid injection into painful toe joint, the pain of which has vanished 24 hours later. Great overview of what was going on and related issues. I saw none of the attitudes, etc. described in older reviews about the place generally and Orthopedics specifically. I experienced auto problems (see below) and was not scolded for being late or upsetting scheduling. Which the Torry Pines facility sometimes did. The problem is its entrance. A single lane in each direction. Not prominently enough identified by signage on the main roadways. Needs many more "H" blue signs with arrows strategically placed a distance away. And it feeds directly off a shopping center entrance which I had never seen before for a hospital. Needs a traffic light, if the shopping center entry further down the feeding road has a traffic light, then more so a hospital should. (Single entry/exit; what if there were a fire?) Entry via the parking structure was forbidden by staff only signage. If you have not been there before, even if you had been a long while ago as I once was, you are going to likely miss one or more turns. Spent 20 minutes being diverted into various roads including those that would all but force cars onto the freeway, trying to turn around to get to the single-entrance place. SUMMARY: Nice place, quality assistance and care, when you make it. Minus one star for learning curve for driving in!

This hospital is clean, well maintained, and in a convenient location for service members, families, and retirees who rely on it every day. The facility itself feels organized and professional, and you can tell there's a strong sense of teamwork among the staff. The pharmacy, like most pharmacies, can sometimes be hit or miss depending on timing, but the staff are consistently friendly and patient, especially when helping elderly patients or those who need extra guidance. I appreciate how much effort they put into explaining medications and procedures clearly, even when signage and instructions are already posted. The overall customer service throughout the hospital is one of its strongest points staff members are generally respectful, professional, and willing to help. Bathrooms and common areas can occasionally be inconsistent when it comes to supplies like soap or paper products, but overall the hospital does a solid job maintaining cleanliness. This is a dependable military medical facility, and the dedication of the people working here is what makes it stand out.

It was so severely infected i went into the closet hospital the night i had several gallstone attacks and i couldn't be seen i sat there for 10 hours. and no i'm not exaggerating, id been taken to triage and that's it. I left and my husband and i went to the naval because after that attack stopped i had another intense one. The naval hospital sent me home on high grade ibuprofen and wanted to schedule me out by 2 weeks for a surgery, My gallbladder became so heavily infected due to a stone blocking a duct. i proceeded to go into the ER and they finally moved my surgery up! getting there was so difficult I then recently have gone into the er due to a miscarriage. I sat in the ER for 2-3 hours, i understand how i was not seen first, they want to focus on the more severe patients which is understandable. but then again not when i was in the waiting room i overheard a man come in with Hydraulic Fluid in his eyes, he told the lady it had already been in his eyes for about 10-15 minutes. It took him an additional 30-40 to go to triage. and within the rest of my 2-3 hours i sat there i never saw him get seen by a doctor. His eyes were puffy and inflamed. I practically thought abt asking if he needed help from my husband and i with maybe washing his eyes in the sink or somewhere because it was insane that out of all patients he wasn't taken back. As well as a newborn had been brought in for falling and hitting the back of her head. again baby sat there for 2 hours and never got seen. With how many times i've been in the ER i hear so many people around while i'm in my room just talking. no one actually working, and on top of that ive never had a clear diagnosis from this hospital. i've been misdiagnosed damn near every time and 2/3 of the times it was serious, i could and was on my way to becoming sepsis. i've gone to several other locations to get a second and third opinion and the naval has always been wrong. They will push medical coercion on to you, fear mongering, and horrible bed side manners. i've been pushed to do procedures or tests i'm not interested in for months, told horrible things will happen if i do not, and the most disgusting bed side manners DO NOT COME HERE If you value your life or your children's life do not come here. Go anywhere else EDIT: as well as do not confirm your pregnancy here. i've had 2 separate times where i've taken tests morning of going in and after and they're positive doesn't matter the brand, or anything hell i even had ultrasound photos showing an obvious pregnancy and Naval hospital as always said "your test came back negative" while i'm carrying 13 positive tests in a ziploc in my bag from the previous days and that day along with sonograms and i'm yet "not pregnant"? i struggle with losing babies often so this isn't new but i can most definitely tell you i was pregnant the two times they denied i was. As well as they will not refer to your baby as such they refused to with me and only said things like "zygote, embryo" yet he had a name and was a boy. Idc what other people's opinions are as doctors let's have SOME manners and compassion for your patients because it's utterly disgusting how much compassion they don't have

Imagine paying for a Netflix subscription where you think the movies are free to watch after making…read moreyour monthly subscription fee, but you later receive a bill for hundreds of dollars because one of the actors in the movie you watched was not licensed by Netflix. This is how it is dealing with Scripps and healthcare in 2026. Beware of Scripps Health! This is an elaborate money-making scheme where they assure you that you will not be billed for things and then perform services that aren't needed for insane prices. They then threaten to send you to collections because the services they provided (that no one asked for and they recommended) were not actually covered by your insurance. We took our three healthy children to the doctor for an annual wellness check. They were not sick, had no complaints and did not have any specific reason to go to the doctor other than a simple annual wellness check. We were not at the clinic for more than an hour but somehow Scripps racked up a bill of over $4,000 -- just for a simple wellness check!? Insurance only covered a small amount and now they're threatening to take us to a collection agency over these unwanted and unrequested "services" because they said the physician they assigned to us was "not in network." How are we supposed to know one physician at your office would be covered by our insurance but the other one you assigned to us is not? Before going to Scripps, we called in advance to ask our insurance company if Scripps did a free wellness check. They said "yes." We then called Scripps to ask if the wellness check would be covered by our insurance and we wouldn't have any additional charges at the visit -- they said "no additional charges." Then at the counter my wife asked one more time if we would be charged for any of the services and they said "we can't know every insurance policy and what is covered. If it's not covered, you'll get a bill." They didn't even check to see if the physician they assigned us was within our network. Fast forward a few weeks later and we're asked to pay over $1,850 for three healthy kids without any issues? Buyer beware!

I was wondering at first and thinking how small is this area for parking to be a big of a problem. We came an hour early just to scout the place. They were not kidding. It's a big structure with lots of parking space but also full parking lot. Just like where I work.. it took us 20 minutes to find a parking space and was lucky to have it near the building where my appointment is. Reception wise, same as other Kaiser Permanente clinic or hospital I went to. In about less than 10 minutes, they called for my name and there's Ms Anna Lee and Mr Andrew receiving me warmly by the door. They brought me to my space and let me change into patient gown and Ms Anna Lee walked me through the procedure, Mr Andrew started my IV and I am very appreciative of him granting my request without questions. From there I already felt at ease and most of the questions in my head regarding the procedure were already explained. Few minutes passed and Mr Jonathan came in greeted me and introduced himself and took me to the procedure/sedation room. He also walked me through the things that will be done in that room. Mr. Cesar and Ms Kara were there as part of the team. Moments later, Dr Masters came in and explained to me what will transpire and ask me if I have questions. Procedure was done and all went well. I really appreciate being assigned to this team. They have exceeded my expectations. I was at ease and I have no doubts or questions during my visit. This is the quality of service I would like to have and also what I try to give to our patients as a healthcare personnel. Thank you so much to the whole team. Keep up the good work. :)

I had never been to this facility before, it seemed new and very clean. The staff were super friendly. As the driver of the patient (my friend), I had to fill out a form so they could keep me informed on the progress. She was taken in in a timely manner and I started getting text updates almost instantly. The waiting room was bright and comfortable. When she was done, one of the nurses came out and showed me where to park in 30 mins to pick her up. I got my car from the street and received another text she was on her way. They brought her in a wheelchair and loaded her into my car. It was quick easy and super efficient. I'll be doing it again next month. I sure hope the parking situation is better then.

It was time for my physical, and the appointment scheduler recommended a clinic that was less impacted. They also put me on a waitlist for an earlier appointment, though it ended up not being necessary. Check-in was smooth on the first floor, and my primary care office was on the second. I simply followed the orange dots, as instructed. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and relatable--truly like they were made for their jobs. A special shoutout to Nurse Tionna, who was so nurturing and sweet! She even cared for my son while I had my physical, which was such a huge help. I absolutely love my primary care physician, Dr. Stephen Shapero. He is down-to-earth, efficient, and genuinely listens. Unlike some rushed appointments where doctors seem to diagnose in 15 minutes and move on, Dr. Shapero took his time and made me feel like a priority. A true unicorn in the medical field! I'm so grateful to have Scripps as part of my healthcare team and actually look forward to future appointments. Highly recommend!
