I asked her simple & direct questions, which she dodged with blatant avoidance. She could not tell me what was purchased. If she worked for me, I would have her terminated pronto. No customer service oriented business would allow their customers to be exposed to a Cobra. The notice was dated 3/11 and postmarked 5/4, outside of the allowed 20 day window. Any contractor who performs work on any of my properties will be instructed NOT to do business with Golden State Lumber, they are blood suckers. After speaking with the contractor he informed me Golden State was paid in full on March 27th. Eye roll.

I bought a kitchen faucet a couple years ago and was having it installed. It unfortunately was missing a part. We called Jackson and they told us it's a manufacturer issue, not their issue. We kept putting a stink and they finally gave us the show room one. Before that, we bought a toilet that did not fit. We had all of the parts, it was completely new, and put back into the same box. Again, they put up a stink but finally relented and gave us a different toilet. Just recently, we were in looking at toilets again and were being helped by someone. Mind you, this person is *helping* us. Another worker comes and begins to speak to her, making us wait 5-10 minutes. Complete and utter waste of time. Again, I truly want to support this store. But, I have been incredibly disappointed with the customer service on numerous accounts.

They helped me keep track of everything I needed: roof felt, staples, shingles, nails, flashing, etc. That project went very smoothly, and the materials were priced fairly. More recently, I have had a roofing repair project, caused by fallen tree damage. Mark was very courteous, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. Because it was a patch repair rather than a complete replacement, I had to match the color of the original roll roofing material. The location in San Rafael was out of stock, and Mark was able to find a small stock of the desired product in the ABC location in Sacramento, where I was able to get it the next day. Thanks.

A special thanks to Mark who helped with the ordering and Josh, Antonio and the other big guy who delivered the products and were super helpful. What I liked is: *they carry Malarkey roofing products, which I found through my research uses recycled tires and reduces water consumption in the production of their roofing shingles for the same price as GAF shingles. Everyone who cares about using products from more sustainable companies should be using Malarkety shingles and ABC has them unlike Home Depot or other stores. *They helped me calculate what I needed for my roof and were nice and patient. *Everyone was friendly during the ordering process, returning some plywood I didn't need because I needed a different thickness for one part of my roof to the delivery. Very laid-back and easy going. *Delivery - I usually am the type to go pick stuff up. If you are doing your roof on your own and getting materials from ABC - don't!!! When they deliver it, they don't just deliver it to your address, they use a conveyor belt to put it on your roof - best $100 I spent on the project as getting everything up a ladder would have been tortueous. I feel like ABC is a part of our community in the way they worked with me.

Then I told her I was aiming for 1pm and I never got a response back. Even if I did arrive early, I wouldn't have been so upset had she been kind and asked me to wait. Plus there was no other customer in the store. She wasn't kind, she was rude. Her lunch arrived as I was leaving. She was clearly unprepared. I don't doubt her ability but her demeanor is not the best presentation for your business.

We ordered doors for a project and only realized that we mixed up the handing after they'd been delivered (pay special attention to their handing chart -- it's different from what I/my team is accustomed to). This was a mortifying mistake and could have really turned out badly. Douglas talked me through everything on the phone that afternoon, accepted the doors back the following day, and had them rehung and redelivered the day after that. He didn't even charge us even though this was obviously my mistake. The quality of work is high and they can customize most doors with surprisingly quick turnaround, but the service is on another level. I'll be ordering again in a few weeks.

He consulted a colleague for a second opinion, and then they he called over Max, who happened to be on his lunch break. He wasn't convinced the first option would work, so he kept testing different ideas and talking through possibilities. When Feliciano came by, the two of them compared notes and agreed on the right connector. They were absolutely right. We installed it when I got home, and it works perfectly--no more leaks.
