Koolau Roof Tech., business owner (Kirt), was very professional, and knowledgeable about roofing shingles, yet really humble and cordial. After inspecting the condition of the roof for the rejuvenation spray, Kirt also mentioned several items that should be addressed on my roof. He also addressed any concerns and asked whether I had any further questions. Kirt later provided a detailed comprehensive report, with images of the roof areas to be sprayed, the missing shingle caps, and the cracked vents. The report fully explained what would be done to bring the roof back into shape, and the cost. The morning of the roof spray was seamless. Kirt was very prompt and informed me of his arrival time. It took only several hours to complete the tasks, and Kirt and his assistant (Father) were once again very professional and cordial. Everything around the perimeter of the house were returned to the original location, and they really prepped the areas on the ground to minimize the overspray. Upon completion of the job, I could immediately tell the difference in the roof shingles. What really impressed me was the detailed post roof spray report. Images were provided of the roof spray before, during and after, and all the completed roof caps and cracked vents. This is a great, locally-owned company. The entire process from start to finish was seamless and easy. When they came to give us a quote, Kelson came and was so professional and knowledgeable that we decided to go with them. They explained what was wrong with our roof, the issues from the recent rain and hail storm (who knew that we even had hail storms here in Kuli'ou'ou). The explained the process, their recommendations, and everything we needed to know to get the roof repaired. They also scheduled a time to come and tarp the areas of our roof that had the leaks so that in the meantime, if it rained, we wouldn't have a roof that was leaking into our home. I didn't even know you could tarp a roof before this experience lol. They did a great job because it stormed quite hard the day after they put the tarp patching and not a single drop of water got through. When the time to actually install the roof came, they dropped all the supplies off the day before and then the next day, a crew of guys came to our home and got moving. They laid tarps down on the ground around the house to catch debris and they put a dumpster in our driveweay to throw all the old roofing into. They managed to do our entire roof in a day even though they had projected it could take 2 days previously, the weather cooperated and this team of absolute professionals did an amazing and seamless job. They were moving like a well-oiled machine, disassembling the old roof and then checking and repairing the damaged board underneath the shingles. I learned how shoddy the original build work was when this house was built 20 years ago. But not to worry because Paul's Roofing repaired the damage and put a beautiful new roof up for us. They worked all day long... in the hot sun... smiles on their faces.... I was in awe. When they were done with the work, they hauled away all the rubbish, cleaned the perimeter of our yard of any debris and nails, ran a magnet thing around the yard to pick up any metal that might have been missed and they went home. It was the best experience with a roof contractor that I've ever had. They made it easy and hassle-free. They kept my husband and I informed and helped us to feel comfortable with the entire process. Nick came to my home to give me an estimate for a new roof. He emailed me a couple of estimates, and he even followed up with me after I took my time to review the bids, to see if I had any questions. After I informed him that I was going with another contractor, he texted me back to thank me for the opportunity to provide me a bid, and said if I have any Roofing needs in the future, to feel free to reach out to them in the future. I have a clearly visible sign on my front door asking solicitors not to leave flyers. Their representative actually read the sign, then proceeded to leave a flyer anyway. My doorbell camera clearly captured the interaction, so there's really no excuse for it. On another occasion, someone associated with the company parked directly in front of my driveway and mailbox. My son went outside and they still made no effort to move the vehicle. These may seem like small things, but they say a lot about how a company respects other people's property and requests. If they can't respect a simple "no flyers" sign or avoid blocking someone's driveway and mailbox, I certainly wouldn't trust them with work on my home. Because of these experiences, I would never do business with this company.
