It was approximately 10 years ago, I had a roof leak and was frantically looking for someone to repair it. After calling several companies who didn't return my calls, I got in contact with Charles (Chuck) Wooten. He dropped by early the following morning and within minutes, my roof was repaired. Expecting a costly bill, I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable charge. I called on Chuck and Bonnie repeatedly over the years to fix my leaks as they happened and each time they did a fantastic job. This past week, I heard a dripping noise coming from the attic. Yep, there was a leak. I immediately called Chuck and early the next morning, he and Bonnie took care of the problem. Chuck told me the root of my problem was the placement of my gutter downspout. The wind was coming from the opposite side, which is never had before. So of course we called him again. Went to the roof to search for cause. Appreciate his diligence as he did thorough look at obvious areas, seams, flashes, etc. and roof looked in good shape. Nick said couldn't walk away from this, something is causing it. He needed to find what it was. And he did! A small hole in a roof tile. A small drill hole from another contractor who had did work up on roof. We were happy to find what is likely the cause. Nick came by on his own, repaired/filled hole. He said let's watch the ceiling still make sure we got it. Although our roof issue ended up being minor, the customer experience with this Nick was major! I do recommend giving them a call.

This awesome company called me back and that alone I have to give them 5 stars. By the way, these guys were featured by KHON2 6pm news on March 19, 2026! (Even KHON2 mentions that only two companies returned their calls, Alakai being one of them). Tisha from Alakai Services and Roofing called me back right away on the same day I called. Honestly, I didn't expect anyone to come out on the same day when we were in the midst of this Kona low storm but they did! Tisha was an angel who was warm, friendly and understanding. She patiently listened to what we were facing at home. I was a nervous wreck especially since one problem area was in my room right above my bed! She reassured me that she will check their schedule and see when someone could come out. A few minutes later the owner Manny himself called me to say by chance, he could squeeze us in and he will send the guys to inspect the roof to give us a free estimate. Julian and Eddie worked diligently and thoroughly to inspect the roof and came back with a fair and reasonable estimate and to my surprise told me that they could do it that same day! These guys were so awesome, because they came with a smile and worked through the rain that never stopped!! Most companies I'm told will not work in the rain. So grateful we found this company! Alakai Services and Roofing apparently has huge contracts with government, state and other commercial businesses. But they make sure to take care of the residential people like us. Manny informed me that he grew up in the business with his father and his father also took care of the local residents too.
