I emailed Lisa regarding her availability and pre-checked with The Lactation Network, the company she contracts with, to make sure everything was good to go with my insurance. I heard back within 24 hours from both TLN and Lisa; we were able to set up a home visit appointment within the week. Lisa was extremely friendly and professional during our sessions. She helped measure me for new pump flanges, made suggestions for positioning comfort, and observed my son feeding to make a diagnosis regarding potential latch issues. She offered a number of oral exercises to help my son's latch and provided an EXTREMELY THOROUGH folder with pictures and descriptions of the exercises so I was not relying solely on memory. The folder also had a ton of other useful info from breastfeeding tips and tricks to local professionals, including pediatric dentists and OTs. Lisa also provided a comprehensive write up for my son's pediatrician with her observations and recommendations. Like the folder she provided, it was extremely thorough and detailed. Her professionalism and attention to detail is next level and she is incredibly nice and easy to talk to. I never felt judged or unheard. We scheduled a follow-up in-home appointment which was just as helpful as the first session. A few weeks later Lisa, followed up by email to check-in to make sure my son and I were doing well. She cares about her patients and I know that I can reach out if we run into any other issues. If you are struggling with breastfeeding or latch trouble contact Lisa! She's wonderful!

I paid over $300 for a prenatal massage here and left feeling frustrated and completely unsatisfied. I came in specifically for lower back pain relief, and despite asking the therapist at least four times to use more pressure, the massage stayed extremely light the entire time. I've had many massages, including prenatal ones, so I know my expectations are reasonable. What made it worse was how my requests were handled. At one point the therapist told me that "if you haven't had a massage in a while your nerves might be asleep," which felt dismissive and didn't really make sense. She then said she would "just press and hold in places" rather than actually massage. That's not what I paid for, especially at this price point. It was clear she was inexperienced, and while everyone starts somewhere, a specialized prenatal setting with premium pricing isn't the place for that learning curve. When I followed up afterward, I was quickly passed off to a business manager via text with very little acknowledgment of my concerns. Their own receptionist had already admitted the therapist was new and less experienced, so the lack of follow-through felt tone-deaf. The owner did eventually offer a full refund, but the way it was handled felt even more dismissive, basically making it clear I wasn't welcome back. Overall this experience was overpriced, underwhelming, and poorly handled from start to finish. I would not return.

I did some prenatal yoga with her and decided to enroll in her classes. I will never forget the attention to she paid to each and every participant in her classes, offering up knowledge from her recent birth, and details about what can/could be expected when your big day comes. She got us thinking about our Birth Plan, wants/wishes, and feelings about the different questions that could be asked when you're delivering your little one. My intentions were clear, and through these classes, I discovered my husbands as well. We together felt so much more confident about the delivery of our child at the birth center because of taking these classes with her. I loved how small and intimate the class was, and enjoyed sharing perspectives with others in the group...it really gets you thinking about things that maybe you never approached before. I also got a couple of amazing referrals from her for Placenta Encapsulation and Circumcision. Thank You for a beautiful experience, Nicole!

Fast forward to me now having a 7 month old and Happy Baby is my second home. Prenatal/postnatal classes are great. I did both prenatal boot camp and prenatal yoga but I was a little limited since I had to stop working out. Once I was cleared to work out, I was at some kind of class 4-6 times a week. Being able to bring your baby to class and get to meet other moms is fantastic! The majority of the fitness classes are taught by Lauren, who is an AMAZING teacher. She kicks your butt all while being the most encouraging, empowering teacher ever! Mama classes- I have done the mindful mama class with Khefri and it was such a great resource as a new mom! You'll be glad you did. Long version: Having a baby for the first time was definitely daunting for us. There were too many what-ifs and unknowns that made us nervous about the whole birthing process. I'm so glad we decided to take Happy Baby's Prepared Childbirth series with Patricia. It was an informative, fun, and confidence-boosting experience. I actually had to convince my husband to go with me: He walked into the first class saying he's there cause I told him to be there (gotta admire the honesty). After the last class, however, he left saying that he was glad I forced him into taking it. (yay me!) The moment my water broke, I was able to apply things that I learned in class that kept me calm and collected(we even went grocery shopping the next day). We were able to check into the hospital mentally and emotionally prepared, even though labor did not pan out as we had planned. We were well educated so we were able to ask about our options (most of which aren't discussed) and feel confident and comfortable with our decisions. By the time I started active labor, my husband was able to use the skills he learned from class to help me through my contractions, so much so that I was able to deliver without an epidural. The support and encouragement that he displayed throughout the whole process just made me fall even more in love with him (cheesy, I know). I can't thank Happy Baby enough for offering the series and everything we learned. I've been recommending this series to all my family and friends who are pregnant or planning to be since I gave birth. So my fellow Yelper, do not hesitate any longer. Take the class and feel empowered like we did.

You can't ban future disgruntled customers from writing honest negative Yelp reviews and then lying about what they said. Future customers, be warned the owner will try and get your Yelp review taken down. So, this post had to be rewritten. See owner's comment on 4/18 date - this was rewritten and freshly posted on 4/21. Therefore, the owners response does not match this review because it has been totally rewritten and is 100% within Yelp Guidelines. FYI: I NEVER once mentioned the ultrasound technician by name because I never knew her name. Therefore, I NEVER shared private/personal info.] Terrible service at First Look. Original owners that owned this place over 6 years ago were much more professional and the ultrasound technician was better too. The new ultrasound technician was extremely patronizing and rude. In earlier visits when I wasn't far along, she discussed stuff that was VERY unprofessional and something she shouldn't be talking about to random clients. I felt very, VERY uncomfortable with what she was sharing with me and felt that she crossed professional boundaries. When I returned further along at 29 weeks, I expected to get better pictures. She kept saving and clicking pictures that were very distorted. When I shared my concern that everything looks distorted, she said in a very patronizing way: "Look, the baby isn't going to take the cord, move it out of the way, and smile for the camera." At that point, I told her she was being incredibly rude. They charged $142 + tax for pictures that did not show the baby at all. The owner claims that they allow people to return if the pictures are not good. However, if the ultrasound technician is very rude, then why would any customer want to return? I ended up getting my money back. Mothers to be: I highly recommend not going here. If the ultrasound technician is having a "good day" and everything looks good - of course, she's going to be in a good mood. But, if she's having a bad day - then she's been known to be very patronizing, condescending, and extremely rude. This is especially true when the "baby isn't cooperating." I've gone to them several times in the past when I was not that far along to make sure everything was progressing because I had a scare at the beginning of my pregnancy and was worried. To The Owner: No matter what you say or how you try to respond, you've made excuses in the past. The way you solve this issue is to listen to the client and if they felt that the ultrasound technician - your employee was being rude - you should believe the customer and take their word for it. It is your responsibility to talk to employees when there is a complaint about their attitude and professionalism. You should train your employees not to share things that cross professional boundaries. You should train your ultrasound technicians to put the client first and not their own personal lives/stories above the client. It is also your responsibility to not make false promises of 5D being like the "real thing, like seeing the baby in real life" when the images that were taken were 100% distorted.
