I found Happy Baby when my husband and I were moving to the South Bay from the East coast and I was looking for prenatal yoga! Fast forward to me now having a 7 month old and Happy Baby is my second home. Prenatal/postnatal classes are great. I did both prenatal boot camp and prenatal yoga but I was a little limited since I had to stop working out. Once I was cleared to work out, I was at some kind of class 4-6 times a week. Being able to bring your baby to class and get to meet other moms is fantastic! The majority of the fitness classes are taught by Lauren, who is an AMAZING teacher. She kicks your butt all while being the most encouraging, empowering teacher ever! Mama classes- I have done the mindful mama class with Khefri and it was such a great resource as a new mom! I also made new mama friends who I have kept in contact with even after our class ended. read more

TLDR: If you and your spouse are lost in the sauce on this whole having a baby business, or if you're like me and just want to be prepared for anything, I highly recommend taking the Prepared Childbirth Series with Patricia. You'll be glad you did. Long version: Having a baby for the first time was definitely daunting for us. There were too many what-ifs and unknowns that made us nervous about the whole birthing process. I'm so glad we decided to take Happy Baby's Prepared Childbirth series with Patricia. It was an informative, fun, and confidence-boosting experience. I actually had to convince my husband to go with me: He walked into the first class saying he's there cause I told him to be there (gotta admire the honesty). After the last class, however, he left saying that he was glad I forced him into taking it. (yay me!) The moment my water broke, I was able to apply things that I learned in class that kept me calm and collected(we even went grocery shopping the next day). We were able to check into the hospital mentally and emotionally prepared, even though labor did not pan out as we had planned. We were well educated so we were able to ask about our options (most of which aren't discussed) and feel confident and comfortable with our decisions. By the time I started active labor, my husband was able to use the skills he learned from class to help me through my contractions, so much so that I was able to deliver without an epidural. The support and encouragement that he displayed throughout the whole process just made me fall even more in love with him (cheesy, I know). I can't thank Happy Baby enough for offering the series and everything we learned. I've been recommending this series to all my family and friends who are pregnant or planning to be since I gave birth. So my fellow Yelper, do not hesitate any longer. My daughters and I recently purchased the monthly membership and it has been the most positive experience for us in a month of difficult transitions. Erin and Jules have gone the extra mile to check in with me and message me about my daughter's needs. She is a sensitive child who has really embraced the small, personal classes and has verbalized that it is a safe environment for her. Additionally, we celebrated her 4th birthday party at Happy Baby and it was a blast! Erin and Jules helped with the planning, setup and takedown with smiles throughout. To my Yoga Mamas, Our experiences at Happy Baby will help us in our journey through labor. Working out 5 days a week at a traditional gym I was able to see the difference between traditional and prenatal classes! Beyond the physical fitness our prenatal yoga class and fitness with Sam helping strengthen our muscles, yes the pelvic floor. The best preparation was our Wednesday kundulini yoga. The sat num breathing allowed me to dilate to 5 cm and 2 min apart contractions without any pain medications. I felt the courage that I could have taken it further. However due to an emergency my natural birth plan was tossed and an c section was started. I chanted and took deep slow breaths and accepted the spinal block and stayed still. Willing to accept what was to come for health of baby and I. Now that our little boy is a week old today and currently in the NICU I have to pump vs. Breastfeed and ladies I know we all thought Khefri was Weird when she asked us to massage your breasts, play with them, smack them around. However that was one of the best pieces of advice when it comes to breastfeeding as you get such a better milk production by massage. My baby really enjoys the classes there. They have great instructors. Everybody is so kind and loving. This place helped me recover post-partum with their yoga and cardio classes specially designed for new moms. My baby learned how to socialize. I enrolled my baby at 4 months of age. She's 7 1/2 months now and she's very social, attentive, and willing to learn. I highly recommend this place for any mommy. read more

What a great spot! I discovered Happy Baby via my KidPass trial, which I used to sign my 11-month old up for a Music Class. It was pretty great, and we used more of our KidPass credits for yet another class at Happy Baby, and this one was even better than the first! Really talented, wonderful teachers and impressive class structure - I enjoyed it so much more than other Mommy and Me style classes I had previously tried (such as MyGym, for instance). Wow, what I can say. This place is amazing for expecting, new and experienced mothers! I have been going to the prenatal class with Khefri since I was 12 weeks along and I am hooked. I literally cannot miss a week of class and make sure to have arrangements for my other kids to make it. I get sad when there's a sub for Khefri but the subs are great too. It's just that Khefri is all that and a bag of chips! The studio is located on Main Street in El Segundo in a cute little space. It's run by two moms who opted out of the corporate rat race! So yay for supporting small business owners that are women. They have many prenatal classes and other classes geared towards postpartum health and even classes for the kids! It's awesome. The class I attend is a kundalini prenatal yoga class and uses chanting, breathing, mantras as well as a variety of yoga poses. I find it rebalanced me and calms me down each week and recharges me to deal with everything on my plate. Happy baby has a variety of payment options including pay per session, buying a number of classes in a package in advance, or the best deal is if you only attend one class to pay a monthly fee and only go to that one class. My wife has nothing but good things to say about Happy Baby (HB). She became stay home mum 1.5 years ago and needless to say, she is so glad for the existence of HB! There are many types of classes she gets to attend with our son throughout the week and our son practically grew up with HB studio. Classes we would highly recommend are (1) kids yoga classes on Wed and family yoga on SUN with Jules; she is AMAZING with kids, including the fussy ones! (2) Baila baila on Fri with Camila; another amazing lady who not only teaches young kids spanish, she incorporates dance and movements to make it super fun. (3) mama workout classes with Lauren; classes with Lauren will make you sweat big time. She is full of energy every time despite being a mother of two young children herself. I am in LOVE with happy baby studio! I have been to many classes (thanks to the 1 month unlimited new student special) and loved them all. I was desperate to find somewhere that I can connect with other mommas as well as expose my 1yo to music and yoga and ballet and I found all of the above at happy baby! I have been coming here since opening day, and besides a month off when I was out of the country, we have been coming weekly ever since! Hands down the best place for babies and toddlers (im sure older too but I have only experienced these first two ages so far!) in the South Bay. My mommy and me group (we have all been together since our littles were 4months old) decided to move from another location that (for various reasons) to try out Happy Baby Mommy and me. It was excellent. We were in Erin's class (shes one of the owners and the most wonderfully kind, honest and funny women I know!) and she made so much effort to make sure we were all happy, learning in class, our kids were engaged and there were often speakers who came in to tell us about a variety of valuable topics to where we were with our babies. Fast forward a year and I am with the same group of moms in a toddler group with Brandi (the other owner) and we are learning how to navigate the "Toddler years". Again, this class is super informative, we observe our toddlers interacting with each other and their is child specialist in the group who does a good job giving insight in to what our toddlers are going through at this stage in life. It has made the "tantrums" so much more bearable, understanding that my daughter isn't doing it to be bad! Ballet with Miss. Alice on Tuesdays is a favorite of my now 19month old, she is fantastic with the kids and has many imaginative ways to get them doing proper ballet moves in a fun easy way (i can't tell you how many times a week my daughter sings "toes up, toes down" from this class) HIGHLY recommend. Music with Andy on Fridays has been a go to since my daughter was 5months old. He brings an 'instrument of the week' each time that the little ones get to listen to and then play. It's been a great way for my daughter to get in to music and Andy is very patient with all the babies, even the ones who try to climb all over him as he plays! haha There are so many events, moms night out, special workshops and classes I could mention but then this review would become ridiculous. haha In conclusion, I am VERY happy to have Happy Baby so close to our home, we plan to continue coming for many years to come!!!! read more

It's conveniently located right on Main Street in El Segundo and the owners are THE SWEETEST and most accommodating people with a passion for what they do. If you are a mom in the area, a soon to be mom or even someone looking for some specialized workshops, this is your spot! Every pregnant and new mom needs to know about happy baby. Their mom classes are a real workout, and they will calm your baby as needed (with your permission) so that you can get a good workout. Fabulous instructor gently repositioned me to ensure I was working the intended muscles. I'll be back to try the baby series. read more

This is a wonderful family friendly studio where you can workout and bring your kiddos. My favorite class is the Mama cardio blast with Lauren. It is a much needed option if you are on maternity leave or just need to fit in some structured exercise but have no one to watch your little one. Here, you can wear them in a carrier for extra weight or have them lounge on a boppy. Everyone is super friendly-I highly recommend this studio. I took my 3.5 year old to yoga and fusion dance classes. All the teachers are very warm and friendly. My son enjoys them. Love this place! Friendly staff, clean facilities, great teachers and lots of different options for every age. My two year old enjoys the Buddha Tots class with Khefri, who manages to keep a great balance between structure and freedom. Baila Baila is also super fun. It's not an exaggeration to say Happy Baby has been a life saver for me and my life as a new mom. Between the yoga/exercise classes (most of which you can bring your little one to) and the workshops (where you will likely meet your new best friends) Happy Baby is a one-stop shop for all of your physical and emotional needs pre-baby, post-partum, and throughout the young life of your kid. Definitely check out one of their "Preggo parties" if you get the chance. It's the perfect introduction to all of the Happy Baby resources available to you. And I cannot recommend the "Mindful Mama Postpartum Support Group" led by Khefri Riley enough. You will not find a safer, more validating space to laugh, cry, and learn. The pricing at Happy Baby is a little higher than you may find at similar places in the South Bay but it's for a reason: class sizes are always small and the quality of the workshops/programs/instructors is above and beyond anything I've found elsewhere. Happy baby opened just a few months after my daughter was born, and it was a saving grace. Prior to finding happy baby, I felt isolated, alone, and immobile. Luckily, happy baby is just a few blocks walk from my home, but more importantly, it's a safe, comfortable, welcoming place for my daughter and I. We take music classes, mommy and me workshops, and for the first year after my delivery, it was my primary gym where I lost most of the body weight and started to feel "normal" again. The team at happy baby is welcoming and supportive. Most of my mommy friends today are the other wonderful moms that I have met there. I can't recommend happy baby enough. If you're thinking that the prices are a bit high, just know that if you attend the classes and get involved with the other mamas, you will get far more in return than what you put in. read more

I went to family yoga on Saturday with my 3 and 5 years old. I loved it. The place is so cute, the teacher does an incredible job managing these wee personalities in the studio. She creates a fun environment with a lot of freedom for the kids, while providing a fun and engaging format that holds their attention (even to my crazy 3 year-old ) and encourages participation without being overbearing. My kids loved the songs and the posing. Plus parents can get some nice stretching and bonding with the kids. Can't wait to go back!! read more
