Doctor Elgharib is a STAR! I had my third baby with her and she was the best in all ways. Very professional, always on top of everything, very knowledgeable, called me personally on the phone with I had questions and concerns about symptoms. She cares about yours and baby's safety and goes the extra mile to make sure you are well taken care of. Also her nurses and medical staff are super awesome! I am done having babies but if I were to have another one I would without a doubt come to her again! read more

Dr. Elgharib is easily the worst doctor I have ever been to, and I've been to a lot of them because of my health issues. I feel so negatively about my experience that I need to leave a review despite my visit being a few years ago. I visited for my annual well woman exam, and I also wanted to discuss sterilization. She was immediately dismissive, saying I might change my mind if I met the right person, and I was too young (I was in my mid 30s at this point) - I didn't even get to discuss why I wanted to, and that I had already done extensive research on the pros/cons. I dropped the subject because it was clear she was against it. She was very rough during my exam and pap smear, and there was some bleeding afterwards, which I've never experienced, and when I commented on it, she said it was expected, threw a pad on the table, and left. I have since been to my current ob/gyns who was happy to discuss sterilization with me, and is very gentle during their exams. read more

Being pregnant is already a journey of itself... being a first time pregnant mom to be is nerve wrecking. There's no guide path to follow since everything is a first time experience. I am so thankful to have found Dr. El, she really is a caring, calm and patient OB. I had an emergency situation yesterday and she calmly provided all instructions. All orders for procedures & prescriptions are always done so quickly and promptly. She always addresses my questions and takes her time to explain, she will call you back promptly and her team will always do a follow up call. Her staff is amazing, they're nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Her Redondo office is filled with photos of babies. Her nurses and front desk staff are very pleasant. Lots of free parking available. My partner and I are thankful to have Dr.Soha as our OB - they're busy, we never felt like "another patient" - they genuinely care. read more

I gave birth on Feb. 2024. Within a month of giving birth, Dr. Elgharib put a copper IUD and it was a great experience. No pain. Cue to July 2025. I went for my annual exam/ pap smear. When she put the speculum, it hurt so instinctively I scooted back to the table. She said things like "do you want me to do the exam or not? " "If you are like this, how will you put another IUD later ?" I told her that I wasn't planning on it. They last 10 years and I'm 33. She said "you know you can still get pregnant at 43 right?" But I don't need one then because I don't need to be protected till I'm 53 so I told her that and that I would use another method. She ended up calling her assistant to help. After the whole thing was done, I told her that in 10 years I'll do the nuva ring. She said "you can do whatever you want to do". She definitely could use a brush up on bedside manners. read more

None of my mom friends want to hear about my birth story because it was such a smooth and positive experience. Everything you could ask from an OBGYN and more. Her staff (shout out Lorena) are incredible, listen to you, and genuinely care. I never felt the need to hardcore advocate for my birth plan. I talked through the things I wanted with Dr.El, she gave me a bunch of options and discussed each with me. Never did I feel any judgement when I asked questions or for different options. I had to go to the hospital to get monitored at 30 weeks and instead of the OB on call handling my care, Dr.El was in the phone with me at 11pm looking at my chart remotely and walking me through everything she was seeing. She was the on-call doctor for my birth, and after two exhausting days of labor, she entered the room with no bedside manner and told me I needed a C-section. She gave me 30 minutes to decide so she could "fit me into her schedule." She didn't wake my husband, so I had to process this alone. She was cold and dismissive, didn't initially offer the option to wait and continue with the induction, and only did so after I pushed for it--making it feel like she just wanted to get it over with for her own convenience. While I was asking questions about my options and my baby's safety, she interrupted me and said, "I have other patients to see," and walked out. I was shocked. She also performed a vaginal exam without warning and never introduced herself before the C-section. Every other doctor in the room did--and they all congratulated me after. She didn't say a word. I felt dehumanized during one of the most vulnerable and important moments of my life. read more

A long overdue 5 star review. Dr. Elgharib delivered my baby 8 months ago without any complications. I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Elgharib. I don't know any OB who is basically on call for all of her patients' deliveries. I am a doctor myself, and I fully expected that if my delivery didn't fall on a day when she worked I would be delivered by a covering doctor. Not true with Dr. Elgharib. She showed up Friday night at 11pm when I was getting close (she works Mon-Friday 8-5pm). The nurses told me she had been monitoring my ultrasound data at home prior to showing up. Dr. Elgharib may not be the most chit-chatty, warm and sweet type. I can see her being perceived as curt and blunt, but for actual medical care and knowledge, she is above and beyond what most OB's do. I would 100% take that over someone who's all smiles but not available or incompetent. I have introduced her to another doctor girlfriend who had to switch her OB (due to OB's lack of availability). Dr. Elgharib was present at every single one of my prenatal appointments, I don't know how she does it if she's delivering all of her patients (I've also had other girlfriends tell me before they've even gotten pregnant they've had to see covering OB's because their OB went to deliveries). So, seems to me, like Dr. Elgharib is a miracle worker who must have a twin. Her office is easy to reach, there's a human picking up 100% of the time, paperwork gets done in a timely manner. Her appts are on time. I really have nothing but positive things to say all around. read more

I saw Dr Elgahrib for an acute issue I experienced back in 2019. I was having an urgency to urinate and pain with intercourse. Upon meeting and explaining what I was experiencing, she asked me why I was seeing her and not a urologist. Um, what? I reiterated the pain I had with intercourse. After a vaginal exam, she proceeds to dismissively state I have vaginal polyps where she said were common and that I can meet with the front desk to schedule to have them removed. She doesn't explain what they are or why I'm having the symptoms that I'm having. I left that day feeling like I did something wrong to make her sound so condescending toward me. I had to call the office a week later to let them know my UTI-like symptoms subsided (no thanks to the doctor bc she didn't prescribe me anything or provide any short-term solution). It wasn't until this phone call did front desk confirm my UA results were negative. A physician like Dr Elgahrib is very disheartening for the community. Horrible bedside manners and very dismissive and condescending. Stay clear of this woman unless you have no other options. (I only posted this review now because I forgot her name until recently when I met with a friend who shared her bad experience with the same GYN; this prompted me to look her up.) read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Elgharib. I have terrible anxiety and had many questions being pregnant and she answered them all so nicely! She did not make me feel crazy despite my anxiety filled questions. I felt she knew me so well. The nurse that would take my vitals, 10/10. She was so kind and everytime she drew my blood- she never missed! The receptionist booking my appointments was soooo kind! She even shared her experience with me with delivering her kids. Definitely a nice staff at the PV office- definitely felt I was welcomed at this office because of the staff. I tried to deliver vaginally, however, she delivered my 9lb baby via C-section. Everytime I saw her come into my delivery room at Torrance, I knew I was in the best hands. I couldn't push anymore and asked for a c-section and she made it happen so fast. I had the BEST recovery. A lot of my friends/family were very shocked on how fast I recovered and I really do give all my thanks to her! Thank you Dr. Elgharib!! read more

This is 5 months later, and ovarian surgery behind me with full blown endometriosis removal that this "doctor" neglected and didn't even care to further examine and tell me what can help me. How do you sleep at night? Let's just start off with a sad half handshake. I should have ran out the door at that moment. I came in for ovarian cyst and unbearable pain I was experiencing and this so called " doctor" told me I probably just pulled a muscle because this type of cyst doesnt cause so much pain. First off, I didnt need you to assess my pain. I know how I feel thank you! Your communication skills are horrendous and borderline insulting. U charged me a copay for that. Its sad that people like u still make money off of poor innocent people who just want ur help and guidance. Overall, you did absolutely nothing for me. U told me theres no treatment for me and surgery is " unnecessary " lol. Everyone do urself a favor and just go to ER. You will be treated with respect and they will actually help you! read more

Soha has been my Ob/Gyn for a long time. She is kind of a quiet more introvert doctor but she really cares about her patients. She took care of me during my pregnancy and was REALLY on top Of my health and concerns. And I had some hiccups towards the end of my pregnancy and she really took very well care of me and my baby. To me that's what matters. She delivered my baby via a c section. The surgery was so quick and painless. The recovery was so good, barely any pain and fast. The scar is barely visible. She is a really good skilled surgeon. read more

I saw her two years ago, and I did not have a good experience. Her behavior was highly unprofessional. She kept asking me questions about my ancestry, and it caught me off guard. I thought she was a gynecologist and not a geneticist. If I wanted to learn about my ancestry, I would have ordered a DNA kit from 23andMe. My ancestry is none of her business. She judged my sexual history based on what she assumed my ethnicity was (she thought that my ethnicity was the same as hers). After she learned about my sexual history, she asked me if I was married. When I told her that I was not married, she gave me a dirty look. I did not feel like I was in a safe space, and I did not feel comfortable telling her about my sexual history. These are heinous things for a medical professional to do. She also kept emphasizing that she is from Egypt, and she was putting down other Arab countries. She talked about two Arab singers named Nancy Ajram and Haifa Wehbe and then she rolled her eyes and said, "Ugh, they're from Lebanon," which was offensive and racist. Do not see her. read more

Zero stars!!! I wish I never came here. This is my first pregnancy and I was really nervous to go to an OBGYN. Before reading online reviews, I decided to go to Dr. Salem, aka Dr. Elgharib. But this review is not just about her, it's about the office and the whole experience itself. I've been in to see her 3 times during my pregnancy so far (I'm 23 weeks along). All three times, she has been condescending, uncaring and shows no compassion. She asked me upon our initial meeting if I've ever been pregnant before. I said, yes, I had a miscarriage back in 2011. She asked me which doctor I saw. I told her that I did not go to a doctor and that my best friend was a RN and she helped me out because she knew I was afraid of doctors and hospitals. So she replied, oh, so you didn't really have a miscarriage. I said, excuse me, yes I did. Just because I didn't go to a doctor doesn't mean I didn't know what was happening and again, I was with a RN. She ignored me and marked 0 under miscarriages. I should have left right then and there, but my husband said to give her a second chance. The next time I went to see her, I was told that I had a UTI but not given any medication, for whatever reason. I didn't even know I had one because I had no symptoms. They told me to come back 2 days later for a re-check for the UTI. So I went back. I was told that I still had the UTI and that I would have to pay an additional co-pay for that visit. I said, no way. I didn't come back because I was bothered. You guys made me come back for whatever reason, knowing that I had a UTI. You haven't given me medication for it, so how the heck would it be gone in 2 days?? The doctor waived the fee. But I was already disgusted and irritated. It then took 3 days for them to send my prescription over to my pharmacy (after tons of fruitless phone calls). Another time I went in, I asked the doctor for assistance with intermittent FMLA ppw due to nasty migraines that I have had my whole life. She said that she could not help me out with the ppw, even though she was my doctor. I didn't even know what to say. I eventually got the ppw done through my primary doctor. He laughed when I told him that my OBGYN refused to help me. That's when I finally had enough of Dr. Salem/Elgharib. The office staff wasn't great either. The receptionist was nice upon my first visit, but by my last one, she was rude and acted like she didn't care about anything. The whole experience with that office and the doctor was awful. Now I'm struggling to find a new Obgyn because I'm semi-traumatized by my experience here. Dr. Schultz also practices here and her reviews are no better. Just stay away from this clinic in general! read more

It is always hard to switch doctors and I was a little nervous but could not be happier that I finally decided to see a new OB/GYN. No waiting and everyone was really helpful and very friendly. As so many other reviewers have mentioned, this woman is terribly condescending and rude. I have seen dismissive physicians before, but she took this a huge step further and seemed to exhibit disdain for me as a human being from the second she entered the room. Beginning with her introduction when she mumbled at me avoiding eye contact and hardly wanted to shake my hand. The rare amount of eye contact she did make was to speak in an incredibly condescending manner. At times, she laughed at me and the treatment plans that were given to me by other doctors. She seemed not to believe that I had tumors and said she would have to look at my file. Why she didn't do that before I visited her is beyond me. She didn't believe anything I said and spoke to me as if I were mentally impaired and as if I were not a woman who has experienced having female reproductive organs my entire life and living with what that entails. I was visibly upset when leaving the office and getting my referrals from the front desk. The person sitting there didn't seem surprised. I wonder how many other women she patronized today. read more

She did a terrible job with my wife's pregnancy. She caused unnecessary hospitalizations, unnecessary costs and rarely provided answers when matters got complicated. We changed to a better obgyn and we were provided real answers, real support and we were told most of her antics were not a good course of care. Elgharib is a poor "doctor" with terrible bed side manner, and has a worse desk staff. She has a cold personality and will routinely charge you hundreds of dollars for only examining you a brief moment. My wife was 7 months pregnant and made the mistake of seeing Elgharib right before the end of the year. We mistakenly thought it would be financially smart to squeeze in one last medical appointment before our health insurance changed to a different plan for the new year. After seeing Elgharib for just mere minutes, my wife informed the front desk staff woman of this upcoming change. The desk staff woman said that since my wife was planning on switching insurance in the upcoming year, that she needed to pay nearly $300 right then and there for today's appointment before leaving. My wife said please just send today's appointment to my current health insurance and then send me the bill after insurance does their thing. The staff desk woman refused and said my wife could not leave the office until she paid this $300 for today's appointment. This staff desk woman caused a scene with my wife, and gave my wife tremendous anxiety. When a woman has a high risk 7 month pregnancy, an obstetrics & gynecology office should not kidnap/hold hostage a patient until they pay a large, non-copayment amount. My friends and coworkers have never heard of a medial facility that would be so callous as to not let insurance process the claim and pay later, and would rather create a scene and keep a 7 month pregnant woman captive. Long story short, the visit ended being close to $600 for just seeing the doctor a few minutes. We wish we had waited just a few more days until 2018 with our new health insurance. I wish the front desk staff woman the worst. Stay away from this office and this doctor. read more

My wife has had a dermoid cyst and it recently has gotten larger and has started to become painful. My wife was referred to this office and was put on Dr. Elgharib appointments. When we arrived, the front desk was very pleasant, as was the PA/nurse. But once Dr. Elgharib entered the room, everything changed. She walked in, never made eye contact, was very cold to talk with. My wife and I explained that the MRI that was taken prior showed the cyst being 2.1cm and with trace fluid around the cyst. The doctor didn't even look at the MRI, only looked at the results on the paper and told us that the cyst is not the reason my wife was having pain. When I explained to her, that my wife had been doubled over in pain for 6 days now, with bowel issues, nausea, fever, and cramping, she again said it's not the cyst and that it's too small. I then told her I looked at the MRI with the other doctor who referred us, and it showed the fluid surrounding the cyst. She then said "the report only says trace fluids", and proceeded to say it is most likely gastrointestinal. However the gastrointestinal doctor said it's not. Dr. Elgharib said they could do surgery and remove it, but it would be best to have it done robotically due to my wife's weight. WHAT!!! What doctor says something like that first of all. And second, my wife is not 300, 400, or even 500 pounds. She then basically farmed us out to another doctor, didn't even say thank you, or goodbye. The worst part of all of this, she didn't even do any kind of exam. No pap-smear (my wife hasn't had one in 3 years). No pushing on any areas where the pain is. No bending, or stretching of any kind. Then on top of that, they didn't even have anyone to do an ultrasound in house. What kind of OBGYN office is this without an ultrasound. When I had feet problems, my physical therapist had one. Stay away from this woman. She's very cold, rude, and you will get the sense of being a burden on her. Sorry to say, if you are seeing someone for an ailment but do nothing, then they shouldn't take your money. read more

My husband and I just delivered our first baby with Dr. Elgharib, and we had a wonderful experience. At every point in my pregnancy, Dr. El was thorough, detailed, and patient with us as we certainly came with a myriad of questions throughout the 9-months. When we approached the final week before delivery, Dr. El was extremely helpful in articulating the various scenarios we'd want to consider (the induction process, the likelihood of c-section, etc.) and helped us land on the best course of action for our family. I was most impressed with Dr. El during the labor and delivery process. From the moment I arrived at the hospital, she called to check-in with me directly in addition to requesting frequent updates from the nurses. I was so relieved when arrived as I knew we were in the best of hands. She was incredibly supportive and professional throughout the entire labor. Dr. Elgharib was very quiet and seemed like she was not in her best day, I had to push her to talk to me and immediately felt uncomfortable with her, as she was not present with me, acting robotically. I went there for a pap smear test which hurt a lot. I told her immediately that she hurt me and that I had never experienced that in the past with previous doctors, and she didn't say a word or show any concern. I was in pain for several days and bled like when you have a light period. I did call her to ask if this was normal and of course she said yes without any concerns. I previously had an excellent gynecologist but unfortunately my insurance changed and couldn't keep seeing her anymore and she never hurt me. Even when I had male gynecologists' in the past I would never bleed or be in pain after a pap smear test. Doing a pap smear test its already uncomfortable and embarrassing, I didn't appreciate Dr. Elgharib not being sensitive and careful. Never coming back and definitely would not recommend her to anyone.. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but I feel it's my responsibility to other women to inform about a bad experience with a doctor. read more

Martha in their office is a God send. She has gone above and beyond to help assist me with my medical insurance issues and hospital procedure appointment. She was my doctor for several years and delivered my daughter. If you are seeking basic care and you're on an HMO plan this practice is fine and Dr. El is OK. However, if you require surgery seek someone more qualified. She performed my Novasure endometrial ablation that failed after 4 years and when I came back with chronic pain and fibroids she basically told me to live with it, then contradicted herself by telling me one time the uterus was so large I needed abdominal hysterectomy and another time saying that would not be necessary. I think she just doesn't know the latest surgical techniques for laparoscopic surgery anymore. I got another opinion from another doctor whose diagnosis and treatment plan was clear. Dr. El is just unqualified for treating cases other than baby deliveries. read more

I'm not the type of person that would normally write reviews. However, I had such a profoundly traumatic and emotionally devastating experience within Dr. Elgharib's care that I thought it would be ethically wrong not to share my experience. I initially went to see Dr. Elgharib after I found I was pregnant and potentially miscarrying. She did an ultrasound and said that their Dr. Office ultrasound capabilities were not proficient enough to diagnosis the status of the baby. I was sent to an alternative location at a hospital to repeat the ultrasound. The results were inconclusive and I was told to come back in two weeks. When I came back to Dr. Elgharib she did a repeat ultrasound and detected no heartbeat. As this was my first pregnancy I didn't know exactly what that meant or if there was any hope. She seemed extremely uncomfortable when I tried to ask if my baby was going to ever have a heartbeat. She at one point giggled because it seemed so uncomfortable for her. She at no point offered me even one word of emotional support. She said again their ultrasound machine would not be able to confirm these results and sent me to the hospital again. Every time we went to this alternative location the medical bill would rack up exponentially. Once we confirmed that I indeed was having a miscarriage I scheduled the D&C with her which took a week to occur. This might not seem like a long time in normal life, but I was incredibly sick so it was a long time to wait. The day before my D&C Dr. Elgharib prescribed me misoprostol. She at no point told me there could potentially be very negative side effects with a medication so strong. I woke up a couple hours later in excruciating pain. As I have come to learn some people that take this medication actually get thrown in a situation that simulates labor. It was by far the hardest night of my life. I immediately went to the ER and then was later transferred for my D&C. I am unbelievably lucky to have been with my husband when I took this medication. If I had been along it could have had a much worse outcome that no woman deserves to endure. I explained to Dr. Elharib my terrible experience and she at no point offered me any comfort or made me feel like this isn't something that she would continue doing to other patients. It's NOT ok. Obviously going to the ER in conjunction with the D&C was extremely expensive. Not long after my D&C I was able to get pregnant again so I have a good basis of comparison of Drs now. It has absolutely been a completely different experience. I went on to have another miscarriage and my current Dr. has been extremely supportive, compassionate, and loving. She is very honest and straightforward, but is helping me to remain positive and hopeful. I told her how bad my morning sickness was and she immediately prescribed me medication that has made it so much more tolerable. I had never been offered this option before. I'm writing this review because it was one of the worst experiences of my life and I do NOT want anyone else to have to go through what I did. Having multiple miscarriages feels like punishment enough. No one should have to have this terrible of medical care or emotional mistreatment. Just at a basic human level Dr. Elgharib should not be treating patients that are undergoing such a deeply sad time in their lives. She has not shown the capacity for human empathy that I believe is required to be around these type of patients. I would heavily suggest you consider another doctor. read more

This review is from services received in 2014 but since I am now changing medical groups i still wanted to put it out there as a warning. I had recently moved to So Cal and Dr. Elharib was in my network. I made an appointment as I was due for my annual and needed to get more birth control. Dr. Elharib asked me if I had ever been pregnant and I told her that no, having children was not for me. She then asked me what my husband thought and I told her he was ok with it. She went on to tell me that I was missing out and to think about how many things I wouldn't be able to enjoy, like sports. She asked me again if I was sure my husband was ok with it and I assured her he was. She had the nerve to tell me that I am a woman and supposed to have children and I should consider doing it soon because of my age (38)!!!! REALLY????? WHAT YEAR IS THIS???? And then she proceeded to treat me coldly for the rest of the appointment. The following year I saw Dr. Sanders in this same office and she has been awesome. If you are of "child bearing age" and don't plan on procreating avoid this women like the plague. She's got an agenda. read more

If I could give this doctor zero stars, believe me, I would! This review is a long time coming but I was so traumatized by my experience with Dr. Elgharib, it has to be reviewed in the hopes that I can perhaps save at least one woman from having to be seen by her. I went to see Dr. Elgharib to confirm my very first pregnancy and it was just all around upsetting. She has no warmth, no compassion, and has a terrible bedside manner. I was told to come back in 2 weeks for an ultrasound, which I unfortunately did. I went back to see her in July 2014 with my husband for the ultrasound. We had to sit and wait for an hour and a half because the ultrasound room was occupied. We were finally called to the room and the doctor came in to go over my medical history. My blood pressure always runs high at doctors appointments---always---it's widely known as "white coat syndrome" and I am sure I am not the only one whose BP elevates at an appointment. We were reviewing my BP and she said the obvious--it's high--and I replied with, that's because I am here at the doctors office and I get nervous. She says, "So you are blaming me for your high blood pressure!" How she arrived at that conclusion, I don't know, but it was an odd comment to make because I certainly wasn't blaming her for my diagnosis of hypertension for which I have been on medication for 4 years at this point! She went through the whole spiel of genetic testing, diet, prenatal vitamins, etc before actually examining me. When it came time to be checked, she said she needed to do a pap smear and I told her that she had done one less than 2 months earlier at my yearly wellness check up. She didn't consult my file but proceeded to do the procedure anyway. When she stuck the speculum in me, my husband said blood shot out everywhere. She was not very gentle and it was extremely uncomfortable. Let me preface this with saying I had been spotting dark blood the entire pregnancy and she had me on progesterone treatments which I had been taking for 2 weeks. I had not ever bled bright red blood, but my husband said it was going everywhere. She then did a transvaginal ultrasound and it was so painful, like she was very inexperienced with the wand and was cranking it and it honestly hurt so badly. She kept twisting it and looking on the screen---she couldn't find the baby. She said "Are you sure you haven't been bleeding red blood at home or having bad cramps?" As if I wouldn't know my own symptoms! She then said that I was having a molar pregnancy which was very dangerous and I would not be able to get pregnant for at least 6 months. I had never even heard of a molar pregnancy and asked her what that was and she couldn't explain it---I actually had to Google it because my own doctor didn't know how to define it. She told me to rush down to Torrance Memorial ER and get a second opinion. Meanwhile I am laying on the exam table and she was more concerned with a tiny drop of blood that got onto her scrubs then to offer me a pad or help me sit up to put my clothes back on. I was gushing blood everywhere, all over the table, floor, everywhere, and my husband had to rush out into the hallway to go find someone to help me as the doctor was nowhere to be found. Dr. Elgharib traumatized me by misdiagnosing me 3 times the day of my miscarriage. First time was her blurting out of nowhere that it was a molar pregnancy but yet could not explain what that was when asked. Called and upset me numerous times on the phone to say I was having a cervical pregnancy and needed a shot in my hips to abort. This was not true. The ultrasound found the sac in my cervix as I was passing it out, but Dr. Elgharib jumped to conclusions unnecessarily. Then she proceeded to upset me a third time to tell me I may need to have my uterus removed when I asked if I could have some water. She had placed me on a no food/drink restriction in case of surgery. She said, "Do you want to bleed to death or lose your uterus? Do you want a hysterectomy?" At that point, I hung up on her. I had enough. She seemed to enjoy freaking me out and scaring me to death, as if the miscarriage wasn't bad enough. I have never known a doctor to just diagnose on the spot before collecting the facts. It was surreal and bizarre. Don't trust this doctor! She has left emotional scars from this experience that I need therapy for. It was so horrible, words can't even describe the damage she did to my mental and emotional state. This review only scratches the surface of how horrific this nightmare was. There were so many details of that day that have haunted me for almost a year now, and I couldn't get the strength to write a review for fear of having to relive this painful episode over again. I cannot stress enough how bad of a doctor this is. She needs to have her medical license revoked. Run as fast as you can and for the love of God, please don't see this doctor! read more

Like other posters I moved to SoCal recently and was surprised to find out I was pregnant with my 2nd child. I called this practice and was set up with Dr. Elgharib. From the first appointment she was condescending about the C-section that brought my daughter into the world on the East Coast the previous year. saying flippantly "you didn't even try to push?" She was measuring huge and the cord was around her neck, so no, I didn't. She also dismissed my asking for help with morning sickness, but when I'm barfing all day long It's tough to function. At my second appointment she did an initial ultrasound and was completely silent. My husband had to break in and ask if everything looked ok, she said "yes." Thanks for the confidence here. I asked about Zika, she said "don't travel." Just awful bedside manner. I switched doctors and couldn't be happier. My new doc talks through the whole ultrasound saying things like "baby looks perfect, look at that strong heartbeat", etc. When pregnancy has you on edge, a warm reassuring doctor makes all the difference in the world. read more

This doctor is horrible , I went in beginning of April for abnormal periods and had tests done ( ordered by my primary) and told her and she said sometimes we know why you don't get periods and sometimes we don't . In your case I don't know and you can take birth control or not if you want to come back then come back if not that's okay like what ? I tried explaining to her more of my symptoms and she said I confused her and she didn't know what to tell me . I ended up leaving with her diagnosing me with high blood pressure , which I don't have . I was nervous of course my blood pressure was higher then normal . She doesn't look you in the eye or even examen you . She just walks in and out and says it's something else . I work under the same network she does just another specialty . She asked me who I worked for and said if I worked for a primary doctor to ask them what to do about my period and high blood pressure . Excuse me ? Aren't you a specialist ? Horrible person and doctor I don't think she knows what she's doing at all . I made sure to tell as many people as I can go never go there . My primary explained and knows more than her . read more

I'm sad to see the other reviews. Dr. El has been my doctor through four pregnancies, and I think she is amazing. I've used the 24 hour hotline during two of my pregnancies, and she called me back almost right away for things that were not necessarily emergency at three in the morning. I also had a crash c section with my first delivery, and she came right away even though she was off duty just to sew up my incision. I've never had to wait long. Her staff is also amazing. read more

Dr. Elgharib was great! I came in as a first time patient for a wellness exam. Despite many of these other reviews, I found her to be very nice, knowledgable and efficient. I felt like I was in good hands and she was very thorough in answering each of my questions. I'll definitely come see her again next year! read more

. My experience with Dr. Elgharib and her office has left me feeling upset and frustrated and I would not recommend her. She delivered my 1st baby via C-section and the experience was OK however my experience with my 2nd baby has been terrible. I was very patient over the course of the 2nd pregnancy but after today I feel disrespected as a patient. On my 1st appointment with my second pregnancy she proceeded in doing the ultrasound speaking to me about how this was my 1st pregnancy. I was alarmed. She delivered my first baby so I thought she would be familiar with my medical records but even if she hadn't delivered my 1st baby my expectation is that any doctor review medical records before seeing me to provide proper treatment. I let it go and thought maybe she was in a hurry and just overlooked it. Then 7 months into the pregnancy it happened again. This time the nurse started reviewing things with me as if this was my 1st pregnancy. I said hey I think you have errors in my chart, I'm concerned that you could give me the wrong treatment or medication or something Andddd not to mention I've been coming here for 7 months now! The nurse laughed and said ohhh sorry the girl in the room next to you, it's her 1st pregnancy, I must have got the two of you confused. Again I was patient and said ok but I did not feel good about it. About 3 weeks away from my due date I brought the Dr. my insurance papers to get a breast pump prescribed for me so that my insurance would cover the cost. 2 weeks later I get calls from the hospital trying to schedule a ultrasound for a lump in my breast. Again I was alarmed and said I never discussed any lump with my doctor. Turns out someone from Dr. El's office miss interpreted the breast pump insurance request to mean I had a breast lump!?!?!?! How does that even happen??? As my due date approached I was apprehensive about everything however since I did not have any problems with my c section the 1st time around so I stayed the course and did not switch doctors. I was afraid to switch doctors so late in the game as I have never been in the hospital for anything but having my first baby. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. My 2nd child is 3 months old now and I have not had any problems with the c section she performed however I went back today to get a IUD inserted. The Dr. was 40 minutes late as usual. Maybe this is why she doesn't review charts, because she is running late ALL the time. After 40 minutes they take me back and say didn't you take the pill to soften your cervix for the IUD? NO because NO ONE GAVE ME ONE nor did I get any instruction on the procedure or anything. Dr. El proceeds in saying I don't order IUD's without giving instructions on the risk etc. maybe you forgot what I told you. Don't insult my intelligence Dr. El you NEVER gave me any instructions nor do I have the pill you're talking about, nor did your medical assistant who booked the appointment go over anything with me. At this point she can't insert the IUD today and I'm thinking you know what this is too much I don't want it anymore. Dr. El proceeds in going to find out how the insurance will be handled since they have the IUD. She comes back and hastily says WE bought the IUD for you so I guess we will have to use it on someone else. I don't even know what that means since I know my insurance did authorize it and quite frankly I don't want anything further to do with this office. I will be calling my insurance company and letting them know WHY I do not want Dr. El to insert the IUD and that I did not have it done. Upon exiting the lady at the front says I need your co-pay. I said for what? For waiting 40 minutes to see the Dr. who told can't do anything for me because I never got instructions. She was extremely RUDE and said well you did see the doctor. Dr. Elgharib IS as good as it gets! I have a very deep appreciation for Dr. Elgharib - She is patient, professional, knowledgeable, receptive and extremely thorough when she is examining you. I've never once felt rushed, awkward or judged in her care and have always been treated as a person not just a patient. Her calmness and sincerity is soothing and while soft spoken - always tells it to you straight, which is greatly appreciated. I have seen her through 3 pregnancies (1 live/2 miscarriages) and there is no one I would have preferred to have gone through those experiences with. She not only assisted my husband and I in understanding miscarriages and the many reasons behind them but walked us through test results for clarity and understanding while suggesting professional services such as grief counseling. Her continued coaching through our conception efforts, proved to be successful! I loved that she never minded having my husband in the exam room with us while I was pregnant or through any procedures and answered all of his questions thoroughly and always with a smile. She's someone I feel comfortable saying is a partner in my overall well-being and in our goals to build a family. She's always made herself available on the phone, during the work week and on weekends (if she is on call) to answer my questions or concerns. Dr. Elgharib's staff and counterparts at both the Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach Offices, are all very professional and very friendly. I always feel cared for when I am there and everyone is always very helpful and discreet. I have the best chats with them and feel at ease in their care. I have small bad veins and have NEVER had a bad blood draw at either office - which is god sent. All in all they have an amazing and efficient team and am very appreciative of their work. Throughout my pregnancy, Dr. Elgharib articulated on all the possible birth scenarios we may encounter (I was high-risk) and how we'd go about handling them but ultimately - My husband and I decided that whatever Dr. El felt was the best and safest, was what we'd go with. During my Labor Process, it was really neat and reassuring to see how much the nurses, doctors and staff at Torrance Memorial respect and love working with her. They seemed to smile more knowing I was her patient! She was incredibly professional and compassionate throughout my entire labor and made me feel so reassured through each new scenario. Dr. Elgharib was 100% present (even when not physically with me in the hospital) via phone calls and updates during our 6 day stay at TM pre and post birth. She also preformed my sons circumcision, to which we have received many compliments on. Knowing she had a hand in bringing our healthy, beautiful son into this world, while keeping this new mom healthy and happy, will always be something I am very thankful for and hold very dear. My husband and I both trust her completely and look forward to growing our family with her help. Her determination to help her patients and to give them the best health options, truly feels to be her objective. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an trusted OBGYN or who has specialized needs (high risk) that wants a KICKASS Responsible and Knowledgeable Doctor! read more
