The call-center vs. the office gives off some inaccurate scheduling dates and times. On my recent appointment, 10a with Dr. Kimball, it was beyond unprofessional. Checked in with Nancy & was greeted by Christina. I sat in the waiting room with 7-8 other women. After 20 minutes of waiting, I asked Nancy if she was even in the office or called away on emergency!? She stated she's in the office just running behind. There are 7-8 people ahead of me. Umm, you didn't want to alert me of that upon checking in. Nancy just gave me an awkward smile. I was called in by Jocelyn "medical assistant" at 10:40a & she did her intake & walked me to the room. You would think the Dr. Kimball would've came in shortly thereafter. Absolutely not. I walked out & asked Jocelyn if she was aware I'm in the room!? Her response, oh yes, she is running behind. You failed to tell me that as you walked me to the room just sit there & look out the window. Finally, Dr. Kimball walks in as if she's early & greets me. I asked her you don't have an emergency phone call like our last appointment!? Oh no, we are fine. I explained to her how she never followed up with me re: my labs & etc and what's the next steps behind my women's wellness care. Instantly, I knew she wasn't really listening to me & was somewhat dismissive. I asked her what's the next steps were & she told me I don't do that exactly, I refer out. Excuse me, Dr. Kimball during my prior 3 visits, you told me this is what you do & we will work together for a plan of action. Talk about the bait & switch. In this appointment, I found myself advocating for myself like never before. The more she talked & stated she didn't know too many Doctors in the South Bay community due to her being with them for a short timeframe (3 years). Not only did we waste 1 another time, but she lied to me, stating she was fully knowledgeable behind this matter. I received 0 comprehensive care from her. A medical disappointment. Moving forward, her "Dr.Kimball" front desk receptionist "Nancy, Christina & Maribel: office manager;" do better on the information given to patients on her lacking a broad expertise; outside of labor & delivery. I was checking out & Maribel "office manager" was heavily fixated on our "Nancy & I" mini conversation. Maribel tells me she's been in the field for years & well versed in the medical field. Like, lady what are you talking about & stop being nosey. Keep in mind that she has no medical credentials behind her name. With all of this happening in 1 day, this office is unprofessional & can be unprofessional by themselves. Again, please advocate for yourself & stop letting doctors such as Dr. Kimball think this is acceptable medical care/behavior.

It is simply too frustrating to deal with the rude reception staff and the office's lack of competence. If you don't mind if you are treated poorly by office staff and then have to call them multiple times after a visit to correct billing issues, then by all means, make an appointment. Otherwise, I suggest you try to find another doctor with a kinder and more competent office staff.

I asked her about it, and her response was, that is what is generally done with patients my age. But she knew nothing of me, my high activity level, some of which was the likely contributor to my symptoms. She categorized me, without a hint of respect, tact, or interest in my individual profile, and traumatized me. I am a healthy person who sees the doctor once a year for check-up's, so this interaction was jarring. She has a lot to learn. I don't recommend her, at all. I been a patient of this clinic for 8 years and had the best Doctor Anita Kovacic, for many years, after she retired I was passed onto to Dr. Lily Lee. And it's been downhill ever since, encountering serious issues with the administration, primarily their failure to communicate my needs and concerns to the doctor in a timely and professional manner. Furthermore, during a emergency biopsy I had back in March, I was in extreme pain, and Dr. Lily Lee's wasn't forthcoming with information because she was in such a rush. I felt like a specimen without any feelings on her table. Her dry demeanor and unrelated comments only added to my discomfort rather than alleviating it. I was scared and felt I was an inconvenience to her becuse her staff had failed to tell her I was in so much pain and it took months to get an appointment which caused the emergency procedure. Despite my visible distress--I was screaming in pain--her response lacked empathy and she clearly needs to take a class on bedside manner. Well lucky me, my symptoms have returned and so I made a new appointment. She did call me personally which was a nice surprise and much appreciated. She must have realized how bad my last appointment was so it felt like she was trying to put in extra effort. After she requested I come in and get rechecked, I was informed via text that I am required to pay a $250 annual administrative fee on top of my regular health insurance payments and co-pays. I am currently experiencing financial hardship and explained this to the office, only to be told that I must pay the fee in order to continue receiving medical care. This feels exploitative and deeply unethical, as it gives the impression that financial gain is being prioritized over patient care. When I had raised concerns with Dr. Lee directly about the administrative failures during the biopsy procedure, she admitted that it is difficult to find reliable staff. Yet, despite her own acknowledgment of these issues, I am being asked to cover the cost of an administrative team that is clearly failed in its responsibilities. I have been on the phone with the doctor and administration several times and not once did they tell me about this extra cost, they only notified me as part of the appointment reminder. I find this entire situation unacceptable and really disheartening.
