This review is specifically for Dr. Fluellen's office staff--while she is an absolutely incredible doctor, I can't recommend seeing her because of multiple experiences I've had with her staff. 1) Shortly before giving birth last April, my BP was high and I was in danger of getting preeclampsia. After a routine office visit, her staff failed to call and let me know that my BP was high, and Dr. Fluellen called me the following day (Saturday AM), apologizing on their behalf and asking me to go to the ER to get checked out immediately. 2) I'm currently 11 months PP and have been struggling with PP depression; Dr Fluellen and I discussed going on medication, but she gave birth shortly after me, and has been on maternity leave ever since. Another doctor in her practice, Dr. Morikawa, prescribed me an SSRI, but failed to write it for the correct amount or provide me with any refills. I've been without medication for 3 days now, and despite calling the office multiple times, leaving messages on their machine and with their answering service, I've received no response back. At this point, I feel it would negligent to recommend seeing anyone in their practice, since both instances could have resulted in serious health repercussions on my end, and unfortunately I'll be looking for a different doctor to see from now on. read more

Dr. Fluellen is a wonderful doctor. She puts you at ease as soon as she meets you. She is very easy to talk to and is very caring. The staff is great. I am not a fan of the Torrance Memorial computer check in - and additional paperwork to fill out the same questionnaire(s) that you are required to do online. That's insanity to do the same thing over and over again giving the same results on paper. Most physicians at Torrance Memorial do this...so it's not based on this doctor. read more

I booked my Appointment in November of 2025 and it was scheduled for February 26th. I arrived 3 minutes late and the front desk clerk quickly cancelled my appointment and I still made it before the 15 minute grace period. I was told sit down and they would go in the back and tell her I arrived. Not one of the snotty front desk clerks went to tell her. Instead they kept me waiting for an extra 15 minutes then decide to tell me Oh Dr. Fluellen is now off duty and closed her office door to anymore appointments. I was extremely upset!! The lowsy clerk than tells me to reschedule I said absolutely not and walked out. I refuse to ever be treated in that manner. MS. Fluellen lost a new patient. read more

I love her. She has the greatest personality. Very educated and helpful. After my long time gyno passed away suddenly I ended up with bad referrals till I found Ms Fluellen. She is always nice, friendly and listens to you. She reminds me of Kelvie whom I used to see before her sudden passing. A kind person. Her office staff however..not a big fan. Can be snotty. Im often talked over, interrupted or spoken to like Im wasting their time. It also takes days for them to return a voicemail. Giving them up to 2 weeks notice for a script refill? Thats not possible most of the time. I have no control over my pharmacy running out of stock just days before I need it. read more

If you make an appt with this office schedule a backup appt elsewhere just in case. I made an appt with this office when I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant. They scheduled me for my initial for when I would be 9 weeks. My appt was set for a Wednesday afternoon. The Friday prior at 4pm I got a call saying they needed to cancel because the doctor wanted the whole week off for Thanksgiving. Understandable, but it's terrible that I had this appt scheduled for almost 5 weeks for them to cancel last minute. Giving me no time to call elsewhere to another doctor for a replacement appt. My husband and I got the time off and were excited for our initial appt. The reason this aggravated us so much is because this is the second time the office has done this. The first time I was pregnant they cancelled my appt last minute. Even though I had the appt scheduled for several weeks. I should have leaned the first time that this is a pattern for them. The office staff was not sympathetic or helpful. The second person who called gave me an attitude and told me the doctor will also be taking a vacation so I would not be able to be seen until January. Which would mean I would be in my second trimester before ever seeing a doctor!! She replied with well we don't see most moms until 12 weeks anyway because we are busy. I'm sure the doctor is great but I will never know because of the last minute cancellations. I called another office and they were shocked to hear how this office was handling the situation and they scheduled me that week! Advocate for yourself. Don't let offices make you feel unimportant. Call around until you find the best fit because this should be a happy time for you and baby. read more

I'm very disappointed, after being with her for a few years now it's been so hard to schedule an appointment. I finally get an appointment scheduled but it's 5 months later. I called the office almost daily to see if there were any cancellations. After waiting months to see my doctor they call me a week before my appointment and cancel my appointment because she's going on maternity leave again. It's disappointing that I had to wait more than 5 months for my appointment for her to cancel my appointment without appropriate accommodations knowing she's scheduled to leave for maternity leave. I have to now see a nurse practitioner but I have to wait another month and it's not even near me. I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism. read more

Dr. Fluellen is by far the sweetest and most caring doctor. She really takes the time to listen and answer any questions/concerns you may have. However, it's very difficult to get a hold of the front desk which is why I had to take off a star. I hope they get better at answering the phones. read more

Very nice person, but if you are a more holistic type person, I would look for someone else. Every 3 seconds she's suggesting some hardcore pharmaceutical treatment or procedure. (And I went just for GYN purposes, as I'm done having kids.) I feel like she's receiving some serious financial kickbacks from the hospital and the pharmaceutical companies. I liked Dr. Fluellen the instant I met her. I was referred to her for a surgical procedure. She took her time to explain everything completely and answered all my questions patiently. I met with her again before the procedure and after it. She is the nicest person and doctor...she's so personable and knowledgeable. I am so happy that she is now my new gynecologist. read more

My husband found Dr Fluellen through my insurance plan , we are having our first baby , and we are so happy we picked her ! She's absolutely amazing! She listens to all your concerns and answers all our questions, even if they seem silly. She's very professional and so caring. She is an absolute gem!!!! As a physician myself I know what it takes to be a good doctor. Dr Fluellen is personable, thoughtful, intelligent and goes above and beyond. She took amazing care of me and my baby. She respected my wishes while also being assertive and knowing what was best for my child. She did an amazing circumcision. She also takes excellent care of my patients. Everyone loves her! She deserves all the kudos and more. Also want to add her MA and staff are incredible!! They make everything so easy and convenient. **This review is regarding the office staff ONLY. I'm new to the area and did quite a bit of research to find the right doctor for me. When I called to make the appointment to see Dr. Fluellen for my annual wellness check, the office staff advised that the first available appointment would be 13 months from then. I happily agreed to wait and made the appointment. About a month before my appointment I was experiencing some changes so I called to see if I could come in to see the doctor to ensure everything is normal. The office staff advised that I could not see the doctor because I was not an established patient and that I would have to wait until my annual appointment if I wanted to see Dr. Fluellen. I decided to wait for my appointment. Then four days before the appointment (that have waited over a year for) someone from the office called and advised that they will be canceling my appointment due to the doctor suddenly not being available. I understand that schedules change BUT the person who called me completely lacked empathy. She did not offer to reschedule my appointment or try to fit me. She very callously repeated that the appointment can only be canceled. I explained my concern given the long wait and health changes I was experiencing. The only option she offered was that she could try to schedule me with a different provided but I would have to wait another 11 months, the first available would not be until November. My husband happened to be sitting next to me when I received the phone call and overheard the entire conversation. When the phone call ended, we looked at each other in shock, baffled by the lack of empathy from the person that called me. I'm sure Dr. Fleuellen is lovely but her office staff is very disappointing. I hope they improve and this does not happen to future patients. read more

Dr. Fluellen is literally THE BEST! She was my OB my entire pregnancy and she made me feel so comfortable and answered all my questions and I am so happy she delivered my baby and we got to share our pregnancy from the very beginning with her. I've been meaning to write a review for some time but with the new baby just getting around to it! I had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Fluellen and her team. They are all very friendly, helpful, professional, efficient, caring, and great at what they do. Visits were always thorough and not too long of wait times. As a first time mom at 41, I was supported well throughout my pregnancy and recovery. My water broke a few weeks early and had a successful c section surgery with Dr. Fluellen as baby was breech. My baby is now almost four months and is healthy and doing well! Thankful for all of the care during my pregnancy and postpartum, would definitely recommend! read more

I just had my first appt with Dr. Fluellen and I left feeling hopeful. She took her time listened to all my concerns. She gave me options and - game plan. She answered all my questions never made me feel rushed and I'm so thankful! There was a three month wait to see her but she is so worth the wait. She truly cares for her patients. Dr. Fluellen is hands down a gift from heaven. She is the kindest, most caring, knowledgeable, gentle, compassionate, physician I have ever had. I am a new patient and was a little nervous before my exam and had so much to tell her, and she never once made me feel like I was rushed or that she wasn't interested or concerned with what I was saying. She was gentle, thorough, listened to my concerns, discussed possible options and game plans we could consider, but most importantly, you can tell she genuinely cares about her patients. We literally just met, but I left there feeling like I finally found a physician who is on my team and truly cares. I made an appointment with this office and had to wait 2 months to be seen. One week before my appointment I get a message on my answering machine asking me to call back to res-chedule the appointment I waited 2 months for...When I call they old me their next available appointment is in October.....that make it 4 months to see the Doctor. Seriously? not even a little effort to accommode me by getting me an appointment sooner since after all I am not the one who ask to reschedule? I have to wait another 2 months? First time patient with Dr. Fluellen - I moved a few years ago and have been searching for an OB/gyn closer to my new home. I can't say enough good things about my first impression with this office and my visit. They got me in so quickly that I didn't even have time to finish the paperwork until after my appointment was over. In and out in under an hour, which is insane to me! I usually expect to spend at least two hours at an appointment with a lot of waiting. All of the staff that I interacted with, from the front office to the nurse were all friendly, professional and helpful. Dr. Fluellen was extremely warm, personable and thorough. I learned quite a few things from her during the course of our discussion. She is super easy to talk to, which I find to be a very underrated skill for a doctor to have. She went through my medical history in detail and asked many follow up questions. She was gentle and explained what she was doing every step of the way. All I can say is, I was so impressed and definitely feel like I found "the one"! As someone who is planning to have another baby in the next year, I feel so comfortable in Dr. Fluellen's hands and got the impression that she really cares. This Doctor is the worst. I was told I had an appointment at 9:15am and waited two months to see this doctor. When I arrived they rejected me because my appointment was at 9:00am according to their records. Despite the confusion they did not accommodate me and asked me to return two months later. Not returning to this doctor. Terrible treatment to their patients. 15 minutes is not a huge difference. Especially after having to wait to months to see this woman. Dr Fluellen has literally saved and changed my life... I've had endometriosis for years but never diagnosed... I've told my Prior gynocologyst and my primary Dr but they didn't seem to think I was in that much pain... I have even gotten to Little company of Mary hospital and was told by the Dr and my family it was in my head... I stopped telling people because they didnt believe me and I started second guessing my self... I would bleed for 3 weeks non stop and I couldn't walk for days... Finally I went to Torrance memorial and a Doctor said you have endometriosis... 2 days after my primary Dr Sent me to Dr Fluellen ... She said let's see inside, couple weeks later had laparoscopy surgery and a 2 hour surgery went to almost 5 hours... I have endometriosis stage 4 my rectum my bladder and my uterus was bonded together with the endometriosis... Dr Fluellen made sure to check up on me after the surgery and followed up with me and put me on medication called Orlissa... When I say she saved my life I mean it... I can start living finally... Dr Fluellen and all her staff were amazing and gave me the best treatment... I recommend anyone who is looking for a good gynocologyst!!! read more

Dr. Fluellen is an absolute blessing!! I established care with her thanks to N.P. Christianne Kisner, who by the way is also an amazing Primary Care provider. Dr Fluellen is so thorough, informative and really cares about your health! I went in for my women wellness and had some fertility questions. She was so professional and reassured me that we will get answers to my questions. She made me feel so well taken care! The staff is also on top of it, Christina is super helpful and professional.
