Visiting Pregnancy Help Center was a very good experience for me. I initially went to get a pregnancy test, which was a positive. The kind ladies were super caring and knowledgeable. I went a second time to get an ultrasound to confirm the baby was in the right place. Thankfully everything was okay. This facility is heaven sent. I wish I could continue my entire pregnancy here but can't. The staff is super friendly, welcoming, sweet. They treat you like family. Answer any questions. Offer so many helpful resources, courses, free parenting classes, they offer grieving services as well if you've had an abortion or suffered a miscarriage. I'm so happy I found this place. When I first found out I was pregnant I had no idea what to do or where to start, being low income with no insurance. Planned Parenthood wasn't much help when I became pregnant, they are more focused on preventative, contraception, and sexual health treatment and abortion. I have been going to planned Parenthood for years for birth control but they did not have any advice for me when I actually became pregnant and wanted to keep my baby. One day I was scrolling on Pinterest and came across some "what to do when you find out your pregnant" And when article mentioned a local pregnancy help center. So I looked on Yelp and found several locations my area and chose the Torrance location made an appointment online and was called back the same day to confirm my appointment within the same week. When I first showed up I was nervous but all the ladies here made me feel very comfortable right away. I took a pregnancy test, once proven (positive) they set up an ultrasound date for me to return. I can't believe all of the helpful info they gave to me and gave me a push in the right direction so I could start my prenatal care. After they printed me a temporary medical I chose to visit one of the referred clinics at the the Northeast community clinic harbor City" 1403 W. Lomita Blvd., Suite 100, Harbor City, CA 90710 This is the BEST location. Every appointment I've been in and out in 45 minutes. The staff is outstanding. The pregnancy helps center follows up with me occasionally with text and emails. I'm looking forward to taking some of the classes and more benefits that they offer. I'm currently 4 months pregnant with boy/girl twins! I'm very grateful for the kind ladies here help me out when I had nowhere to go. Thank you so much!! I have mixed reviews on this place based on different people that helped me. I came here for an STI test and the nurse (older Asian woman) completely slut shamed me. After giving urine, she sat me down for 20 minutes and shamed me for having had more than one partner in my life. She said things like "so you just switch guys all the time?" "How does your family look at you?" "Think about your future husband" "you have your whole life to have sex so you shouldn't be switching partners already" I was shocked by how nasty and judging she was. She would literally shake her head in disgust I almost cried and walked out. She should not be working here administering their sti test. Please stay away from this place or at least call ahead and check if that nurse is the one working. I gave them 2 starts instead of 1 because a different nurse called to give my results and she actually cared to give me HEALTH advice instead of judge, which is what I needed. Last place I would come to get life advice. That's what a nurse should act like, not like the first mess of a nurse. Shame. Told my friends who would come here so they won't be coming back either. Please teach the nurse to have better bedside manner because that was unacceptable. Really disappointed with my experience. read more

First appointment was very helpful. Scheduled an ultrasound for a month later, today. Drove all the way to the office and they don't have me scheduled at all! Very upset because I had to miss hours at work and drive 30miles round trip just to find out they don't have an appointment for me. I watched Mary pencil in my appointment myself and scheduled it on my phone calendar while in the office. Very unprofessional practice. I've been here twice already and during both of my visits I was comfortable and well taken care of, I took a pregnancy test a few weeks ago then came back today for my very first ultrasound. Everyone in the office is very nice and professional. They are very informative and make sure all of your questions are answered.I felt like I was in good hands through out my whole visit, I was a bit nervous today but they made me feel much better and comforted me through out my whole appointment. I'm surprised that so many people left furious reviews about this place. My experience with them is they're really supportive and friendly. When I found out I'm pregnant, I didn't have any medical insurance. They offered me information regarding how to apply for Medi-Cal, and provided me information about where to get free or low cost classes and resources. I even got my very first ultra sound done there. Indeed I've never considered abortion as a possible choice, maybe that's why I have a completely different feeling about them than those who do want to terminate their pregnancy. Since this is an organization funded by some local churches (which I wasn't aware until much later I spot their fundraising campaign in my church), I think this is understandable that they have a rather conservative attitude about abortion. However, it's unfair to deny all their efforts by this one angle they stand for. As a pregnant woman who has no close relatives with birth giving experience nearby, I am very glad to have them providing me some support on this journey. read more

I debated long and hard about writing a review for this place. It seems like the kind of place you wouldn't want to review. But Ann K did it 2 years ago. I want people to know that this place is still up and running. This is a great place if you're pregnant or think you're pregnant (or if you have an STD or think you do) . They will give you pregnancy test for free. They offer free breast feeding classes, they have a class you take and get a free car seat, they have free birthing classes, and it doesn't matter what your income is. Most of these things taking place on site, and others being offered at other places.They will also help you sign up for medi-cal and wic, but you have to qualify for those. They also help with diapers, wipes, and some other things that you would need once you have your baby. You can walk right in during business hours, and someone will help you. But this is not a place for abortions. They don't offer those kind of services, and I highly doubt they would point you in the direction of a place that would. Its volunteer ran. And they do a great job of running the place. I hope its around forever to help women that are really in need. Or women that are shell shocked from their real doctor calling them to tell them they're pregnant when they don't remember even having a pregnancy test. Whatever your case may be. read more

I first came here after taking a home pregnancy test. I was waiting for insurance to get approved and also needed the official letter of pregnancy for my insurance application. I believe this is a nonprofit organization. They are run mostly by volunteers and also sponsor an annual Walk for Life to raise funds for the cause. They support having babies and will help you with placing the baby up for adoption or other alternatives to abortion. They don't hand out the next day emergency pills. The dr. has his own practice near Little Company of Mary but dedicates his time to this clinic once a week. They do not do exams here but he or the registered nurses will give you a consultation as well as testing for stds. The other volunteers will help you apply for health insurance and the WIC program if you need it. They also stock donated baby supplies that you can receive for free. The other great thing about this center is they will do free classes on breastfeeding or caring for your infant. I took my first and only breastfeeding class here that was immensely helpful. They made my first pregnancy really memorable and I felt incredibly cared for and excited about being pregnant. This place is a gem. read more

I scheduled the appointment the night before and I received an email saying I needed 24 hours in advance to be approved so I didn't show up at 10am. Around 11am I got a phone call and I explained what happened so she scheduled me to come at 12:45. I came to this place feeling a little lost and a bit nervous. But from the moment I walked in the door I was graciously welcomed in. The bldg was clean and the office was quaint and well decorated. I only waited about 5-10 minutes as I completed the new patient paperwork. The counselor I spoke with was Susan. Susan has a warm loving personality, and she was patient with me and listened to all of my concerns. Although they are a pro life organization ( which I love) She still gave me all my options, and we talked through which would be best for my situation. The nurse I saw was Raquel, she was bubbly and very sweet. She also was patient with me and answered all of my questions. She gave me some prenatal pills to start with as well as some resources for choosing a provider. I spoke with Maria next who helped me in figuring out applying for medi-cal as I don't have health insurance at the moment. And even gave me the paperwork I would need for WIC. Maria is very knowledgeable and has a warm personality as well. Overall excellent experience, the staff is knowledgeable and caring. If you are pregnant or think you might be PLEASE do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment. As almost all of life's surprises pregnancy can be both overwhelming and wonderful I am glad that I now have some extra support in my corner. read more

I don't normally take the time to write reviews but this place is absolutely amazing, not only because is free, but also because of how much they help you. If you need a pregnancy test, an ultrasound, temporary medical on case you don't have insurance so you can start seeing a Dr immediately, they help you with all of that, they have a lot of classes for breastfeeding, labor. They also keep following up with you to see if you need anything during the pregnancy and even after you have the baby they call you to see how are you doing.
