Before going in, I called to get more information and read a little about the clinic on their website. I was extremely nervous--out of my mind--going into a women's clinic, not knowing what to expect. I hope you stay till the end... On their website, the disclaimer states: "Horizon Pregnancy Clinic is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that is free for everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. We exist to provide accurate medical information and support to women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy. We do not perform nor refer for abortions." Even with that information, I was still nervous, wondering if they would try to push an abortion on me. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant, and it had finally happened, so I was going in with a lot of emotions and uncertainty. Rewind a bit--I was working at a women's conference at the beginning of last year. Toward the end of the event, the preacher asked if any women were struggling to conceive or wanted to get pregnant to come to the altar. Knowing my husband and I had been trying, my friend dragged me up there. I felt so embarrassed, even though no one noticed me. My friend prayed over me, and at that moment, another friend saw me from afar and whispered a prayer: "God, I don't need any more children. Give her my seed." Fast forward to my appointment at the clinic. From the moment I walked in, I felt safe. The facility was well-maintained, and the staff was extremely kind. Before my ultrasound, I was asked a series of questions without my husband. One question caught me off guard: "How do you plan on parenting this child?" Confused, I asked what she meant. She clarified--was I planning to raise the child myself, have a relative or friend help, or take another route? I immediately responded, "My husband and I, of course." Finally, I was taken back for my ultrasound, and my husband was allowed to join me. The moment we saw our baby on the screen was breathtaking. He was moving, dancing, and raising his little hands-- (to God!) I was only a few weeks along, but the tech kept referring to the baby as a boy. Later, we would confirm--we were having a son! His heartbeat was strong, steady, and full of life. My husband and I were overwhelmed with joy, tears of happiness streaming down our faces. After the ultrasound, we met with an incredibly kind woman (who shall not be named). She shared that she was a Christian and could tell we were, too. She prayed for US and OVER our baby, and in that moment, we couldn't hold back our tears. As we spoke, she shared that most of the women who come through their facility don't want their babies --and here we were, having prayed, hoped, and waited for this child. It was heartbreaking to think that some don't see the life we just witnessed on the screen. Before we left, she handed us pamphlets and gave me a onesie that read, "Wonderfully Made." The moment I read it, I broke down in tears. Everything about our baby boy's story--the prayers, the waiting, the faith--had led up to this moment. He is wonderfully made, and God does ALL things perfectly in His time. We walked out of that clinic completely touched and moved. This was more than an appointment--it was a God-ordained experience. Something in me screamed so loud that there had to be a way to undo what I had done. And by the grace of God, my baby is alive and well. This clinic literally saved my baby's life. The women of this facility opened their arms to me and showed me love that not even my own family has ever shown.. It is because of them and our Father in Heaven that any of this was possible. Unfortunately covid prevented my further training and I have not been able to restart. The level of compassion and genuine dedication to helping women for as long as is needed is extraordinary. AMAZING place with free supplies, services and parenting classes!…read more Founded through yelp, I was interested in their monthly parenting classes as a first time mom. To my VERY pleasant surprise, they also provide free baby supplies!!! They're usually only open on Wednesdays but when I leave voicemails on their "off days", I usually get a call back the same day, or the day afterwards. I provided general info, including my due date and gender of our baby. When I showed up on Wednesday, I filled out a short form and was given 3 bags of baby items!! Clothes with tags, diapers, wipes, hygiene, blankets and even a little welcome gift for moms :) Everyone at the center was sooo sweet and they even carried the bags to my car I attended their parenting class the following Monday (usually the last Monday of the month) and met 1 of their Board of Directors, that held the training! She said the classes are geared towards what the moms attending, want to learn. For that class, it was about potty training. It's an intimate and informative class so you'll def get your voice heard and questions answered! I returned again in May for my monthly supply pick up and mentioned I have a small preme baby. Liz went out of her way to buy Preme clothes because they didn't have any at the center! They also gave me preme diapers which we appreciate sooo much What a please surprise to arrive for parenting classes but leaving with such great resources and supplies for our babies! I'm telling my new mom friends in the area about this amazing center!

They gave me a welcome bag and told me if I came back in my 8 months pregnancy I would get another starter kit and today I got 2 fully loaded bags!!! There are diapers for newborn size, lots of baby clothes, hats, shoes and socks. Bibs and pacifiers, toy, blankets and towels.... And they said I can come back every month to get diapers when the baby is born!! This is our first baby and since me and my partner don't have family live close enough to support us. We feel very grateful and released that this organization provides so many resources!! It does make us feel less pressure so we can focus on the joy of having a new family member! While one of the pastors there did say they appreciated my ministry during a zoom bible study there was no reliable show of such support and I actually never learned why. That pastor did have our mental health outreach flyer translated to Spanish but yet never shared the outreach or the flyer with the congregation and or offer to support by attending, assisting with volunteers, etc. I am grateful for the translation. The congregation here is largely Hispanic and most of the pastors are young. I'm however African American and over 60; not sure if that matters but this was my experience.
