She had been invited to an award show to sing and so she asked the congregation to pray for her because " this ain't like Sunday morning this is the REAL DEAL right here!" What??? Pastor Matt was so bold to take the church on a harmful, meandering road where he intermixed politics and religion, like how a lot of evangelical churches are becoming. It started when he invited Kirk Cameron in April 2024. That was a big mistake, for people who have never stepped foot in a Christian church. Kirk Cameron gave a sermon about Guthrem and the Vikings, which was so difficult to sit through considering it was a dense history lesson about the Vikings and faith, that just got lost in the sauce. Kirk Cameron is a right wing evangelical that has a bias towards promoting extreme right wing propaganda. Fast forward to September 2024, Matt started a series, "Bible and the Ballot," and as educated and open-minded that I consider myself and my husband to be, we just couldn't sit through the series. Matt was quick to demonize anyone who didn't support Trump and used the bible to justify his one-sided political stances (VERY HARMFUL). I was deeply bothered but chose to ignore it, as my children loved going to their kids Sunday school class. The straw that broke the camel's back was in June 6, 2025, the weekend that the ICE raids took place in Paramount which caused a domino effect in creating protests by surrounding communities in fighting against all the inhumane actions by ICE and the CBP. The next day at church, I was hoping for Matt to give space for people in the congregation to feel seen, loved and accepted, but instead he completely missed a perfect opportunity to offer a special prayer for all those effected by the ICE raids. Again, I was disappointed and hurt by how he selects when to speak up for causes that align with his political views. The deepest insult was when Matt equated illegal immigration to getting a DUI. He mentioned that if he broke the law in getting a DUI, he needs to pay the price, the same way that people who immigrate illegally are held to the law. Are you kidding me?!!!!!!! My husband and I decided to leave the church altogether because as a person of color, and a daughter of an immigrant, I feel that attending a church that doesn't align with my core Christian values about loving foreigners, and those who are disenfranchised is unacceptable. I don't care what political party the person next to me in church aligns with, or the Pastor identifies with, but I will ALWAYS draw the line and when cultural, racial and social injustices are overlooked. Matt does nothing to bridge the hurt, pain and division. As a pastor, leading a church should be focused on preaching about how one can grow in their faith, and be encouraged to show love & kindness towards ALL regardless of country of origin. Keep politics and division out of church at all costs!

Bible believing church…read more I have been to two services so far. AWesome worship with about 5 singers and a live band. I really like the bible based messages so far and the other members have been really nice. It has been fairly small services as it is a small church. It feels very friendly and welcoming. They have a cafe to hang out and fellowship. I received a small gift and summary booklet of "the purpose driven life" as a welcome gift as a new attendee. I always find parking pretty easily though the lot is small, street parking on 7th is plentiful Interesting old building with pretty stained glass

I also love that lgbtq# folk are 100% welcomed, loved on and encouraged to lead and teach. They also offer many weekend musician presentations. Most recently: a great lady who plays classical guitar. Her performance was phenomenal. They are a United Church of Christ, and the ministers are so kind and eloquent with their sermons. I feel so connected to God after attending church- it feeds my soul. Today is Palm Sunday and then they have services again on Maundy Thursday with Communion and then next Sunday- Easter Celebration- Christ is Risen, and Communion.

The church is located in a nice neighborhood in Manteca. There is plenty of accessible parking in the large parking lot and street. The church is bright, huge, and spacious inside. There are plenty of pews available for parishioners and guests. A large fountain area with holy water is in the front. The pristine decor is traditional and modern. Overall I enjoyed my experience of a wedding mass at Saint Anthony Catholic Church. The priest had a lovely homily about marriage of course. He was engaging and had a good sense of humor. The church served as a beautiful backdrop for the wedding.
