One of the worst doctor offices I've ever been to. They don't return calls. They don't do what they say they'll do. Literally had the doctor say there's nothing wrong with me and nothing they can do. When I responded that something is wrong and I'm very sure of it cause of the pain they stated take some Tylenol. I said that isn't working, they replied "that sucks." I left. They're ok. Not bad, but not good. Some staff are friendly, some terrible. Doctors are generally nice, but rushes appts bc they're a group with a ton of patients. Wait times are horrible. With an appt, I have to wait 45 to 1 hr inside for the doctor. Patient's time is just as valuable and important. Quality of care is also middle of the road. Some doctors are great, patient, knowledgeable and creates a plan. While others are not great at hiding their impatience and floods the patient with info that's only obvious to them. read more

The overwhelming number of bad reviews are from patients who are lumping administration/phone/paperwork together with medical care. That's just not fair. Yes, perhaps their front desk is overwhelmed and doesn't have the best phone protocols. Why dock the hardworking and professional doctors and medical tech staff for that? Yes I was taken aback that I had to complete intake paperwork at their counter while on crutches, instead of someone offering to bring it back to me at a seat in the waiting room. I can't judge the subsequent medical care based on that. A full week after my foot broke and E.R. triage, I got a referral for follow up to Pacific Orthopedics. I waited less than 10 minutes to be called in for IN-TAKE by a Medical Tech. That was seamless. My X-ray tech was gentle and attentive. I know this is a conveyor belt of patients for them, but he did a good job with patience. Within a few moments, a Physician's Assistant showed me the X-rays and discussed care protocols. She took her time to listen to me and to be gentle in her responses. Very competent with good "bedside manner" with a patient who is fearful and uncertain. I would definitely go back and recommend to others. I can't complain at all. I felt it was important to leave a fair review to counter the impression left by so many people giving out 1 star for front desk procedures and other personal attitude problems that aren't a reflection of medical competence and many patients' experience. read more

I would definitely avoid this establishment. I called here to make an appointment but the receptionist was very rude. I'm potentially a new customer so why hassle me. I have insurance and I want to see one of two specific Doctors. After having to call multiple times I finally got a reservation to see a Doctor I didn't ask for. I'm only going to see a recommended and not choose a Doctor with poor reviews. The receptionist told me I have zero choice but I do have a choice and that's my given right. She didn't explain herself why my request was being denied so I cancelled my appointment. What was upsetting was I got a call from the receptionist but she claimed she couldn't hear me when I asked for one of the two Doctors I initially requested to see. She had called me five minutes before her office closed. She told me to call back only to get the answering machine. I then called the following day but was met with so much negativity. She just said if I don't like it go find someone else and hung up on me. I tried calling back but kept getting a busy signal. I eventually called the next day after that and finally reached someone. I then cancelled my appointment. If you're the owner of this business make sure you teach your staff some proper etiquette otherwise you'll lose potential customers like myself. I have to take my mom here one time and whow boy the receptionists are a joke, it makes me wonder who hired these clowns, they have very short temper and are basically yelling at you the whole time as if they are already stressed out from work at like 9am in the morning. My main concern is the care quality provided by RPT Charles Chen. He talked with me briefly to find out which body part I had problems with and then he made me do the same set of exercises for each of my follow-up visit. So I thought to myself that he could have just taught me which exercises would be helpful and I could do it on my own. I had to keep coming back wasting my money on copayments which I could use towards a gym for 5 months for the same kind of exercises. I was extremely pissed when I had to do those exercises without supervision - it's all on my own not knowing when to change up: he would just go to the back of the office and waited until I looked for him. The worst part is I noticed he made other patients doing the same exercises when they had the same pain as mine. I would hope that they can be more detailed and tailor the program to individual situation. Eventually I went to San Gabriel Valley Physical Therapy and the RPT found that my right lower back pain is due to my right leg slightly shorter than the left. Can't believe all this time Charles Chen just won't care. This review just reflects my experience with one particular RPT in this office and I can't speak for others. read more

I've been going there for quite some time but hadn't have bad experiences except the receptionists sounded unfriendly over the phone once in a while until the last time. I was anxious to see Dr. ASAP since my leg injury didn't get any better, I was told by UC physician that I might need a surgery. It was surprising that I got an appointment next day, because it usually takes at least a month. I found out why I got in so quick. I thought I had an appointment with Dr. Lee who previously treated me with the professional manner, but it was Dr. Le who made my session the disaster and I had the worst experience at the Dr's office in my life. Dr. Le listened to me and examined my leg then he left a room in a hurry saying he will be back, but he never did. I told one of the nurses, I still have questions I need to ask Dr. When I was at the reception desk to make the follow up appointment, he showed up, seemed very annoyed with frowning face. Then when I asked questions, he yelled at me very loudly in front of the receptionists and other patients. It was so humiliating and looked like I did something wrong. Not only he accused both UC physician and my primary care Dr were wrong, but he also refused to write me a prescription saying go find OTC! No explanation why he thinks they were wrong. Just said "Because I know how to read English." Excuse me???? He was very rude and unprofessional, thinks his time is more valuable than ours. It was such a waste of time seeing him, I had to set up another appointment with Dr. Lee not Dr. Le. read more

This is the WORST place I have ever been to. The doctors and staff herd you in like cattle, spend 3 minutes (max) with you, then you're off to wait for a referral for another doctor WHO WORKS THERE. Then, they proceed to do nothing and just see you again for 3 minutes. It is a dirty ring of "doctors" who are taking advantage of the 626 elder generation who don't speak english. If you need a translator, good luck. They use their PAs who barely speak the language and they are somehow the translators. For reference, when she had to translate "hip", she said "heeep", as if somehow applying a Chinese accent to the word "hip" is a proper translation. We've seen all the doctors here, and they all are equally terrible. The worst is Shane Pak. These doctors don't care about you, they care about money and just keep referring you to see other doctors that work at this practice to bill insurance for more money. My father has been in pain for over a year, and nothing has been done. We are going elsewhere and I hope everyone who reads this does too. read more

My name is Richard I had a surgery performed from a doctor at Pacific orthopedics his name is Brian vu le August 17th 2023 he performed a lateral ligament reconstructed surgery on my right ankle November 21st 2023 it got infected very bad cellulitis he then told me he was leaving his country going back to Canada I never knew that then he left another orthopedic to see me his name was Alan Lee after I seen Alan leave my ankle got infected nine times I ended up in the emergency room six times the last time I seen him September 11th 2024 he told me straight out I can't do nothing for you go to Los Angeles county hospital they will take care of you and he walked away Pacific orthopedics Brian vu le and Allan Lee should not be called orthopedics they should be called veterinarians they are trash completely trash they should not be able to have a medical license I don't know what kind of program they're running over there but it's worse than a third world country they traded me like a dog completely did not help me my ankle got infected nine times and all he did is prescribe me antibiotics I finally went to a real doctor a real orthopedic Pacific orthopedics is trash completely trash I repeat trash do not trust them after I got my surgery from a real orthopedic he told me the screws and anchors were melting inside my ankle causing the infection and these guys would not even give me an MRI I hope one day they get treated like that like trash read more

Individual doctors and assistants here may be good but the overall practice is a mess. Nearly impossible to reach for months, this office makes itself unavailable entirely from 1130am until after 3. The concept of staggered lunch hours is apparently unknown here. If you do get a person, they quickly put you on hold without a chance to say anything, where you wait for 10 minutes until you get cut off. Again and again. The answering service is just a recording telling you to call back. They rarely get back to you. read more

My wife (75 years old) fell from a chair when she was standing on and getting things from high a couple weeks ago, we sent to An urgent care in San Dimas, they took a X'ray and gave her a few pain killer pills and sent her back home. She had suffered serious pains after back home, she could stood up and walked on that evening, We designed to sent sheriff to Garfield Medical Center that night, they took X'ray and MRI immediately and admitted her into a ward. Dr Mark Hsiao visited her in early morning and examined the images, and told her there was a fracture observed on T12 and advised to have an operation on her spin. She was sent into the theater before noon and sent back to her ward at 2 pm. She said she didn't feel any pain at all and she could walked to the rest room herself. We thank to Dr Hsiao! They make clear they don't care about their patients. I went there to treat a fractured fibula, and due to a job change I switched insurance companies between my initial consultation and a follow-up appointment. They don't take my new insurance company, but after I arranged for them to send medical records to my new insurance company, the insurance agreed to cover the follow-up visit and informed them of their decision. After all that, I then received a vague voicemail from Pacific the evening before my appointment (which was on the books for two weeks) that they were cancelling the appointment despite my insurance company agreeing to cover it. After trying to get an explanation, the best I could get was a manager explaining it away as a "business decision." I was left with no continuing care for my injury, having to start for scratch on the doctor search and then wait for a new appointment for a doctor to evaluate my broken bone. Overall, a truly disappointing experience. read more

I have been waiting to get my Carpal Tunnel Surgery since 2020. I Finally got lined up with A hand surgeon at Pacific Orthopedic Associates in Alhambra at 707 S. Garfield Ave. by the name Yen Hsun ( Ernie) Chen, M.D.. seemed like a nice guy who knows what he is doing until I specified that I did Not want to be put to sleep because of a past incident from a previous surgery that involved some very serious complications with the Gas. I have had this Carpal Tunnel surgery once before on my other wrist and it was not a problem for that surgeon to just use a localized Anesthesia from my elbow down to my wrist. When I asked for this same Anesthesia, Doctor Chen at Pacific Orthopedic Associates told one of his clerks to tell me that if I chose that option rather then the gas that he would not be able to use the same procedure and surgery equipment (Endoscopic) smaller tool used for these procedures, but would instead have to use a much larger tool which would create a much larger incision, larger scar tissue and double the length of healing time by 6 months. Basically he told me that if I'm gassed he can use the Endoscopic instruments which would be a very small incision less intrusive and a recovery time of only 3 months. And if not we'll then he will need to use a more intrusive surgical instrument creating a much larger incision and double the recovery time. Can you say BARBARIC. This is all about the Money period. Doctor Chen is not concerned about my feelings regarding my past terrible experience with being put under. He only cares about the amount of money that he can charge the insurance company. And if I don't want to be put under but instead request a localized Anesthesia, we'll then he can't charge for that higher bracket, so in his mind he ultimately looses out. This is highly unprofessional and completely unacceptable. This is deliberate indifference 200%. Do not go anywhere near this Surgeon. He is a Butcher! I feel I was discriminated against. read more

I had a bad experience with Dr. Lee and Pacific Orthopedic Associates. I had surgery with Dr. Alan Lee. But 6 months after the procedure, I am still feeling pain. When I describe my situation to Dr. Lee, he was very rude and told me " my surgery has nothing to do with your pain. If you keep complain, I will revoke the surgery and remove the part from your body". I was shocked and upset. I could not understand how can a doctor say anything like that in such a cold blood manner. Another problem was the clinic scheduled me for follow up appointment every month. They charged me the copay when checking me in. However, a year later, they surprised me with a $500 invoice for the previous year fee including a lot of unnecessary procedures. It would be reasonable if they told me that there will be some fee before performing any treatment. I really think x-ray every month is too much. Especially you could not even find out why I am still in pain. This place is not gonna help you. read more

I've been coming here for about 5 years and have always been seen on time with professionalism . All Assistants front and back are very nice and will help you with whatever you need. You see they do have several doctors here but I will speak of one. Dr. Tam is a great orthopedic doctor. He truly listens to your every concern you may have, he will always try to rule everything out before he does any kind of surgery. I visited Pacific Orthopaedic Associates 2/4/20 I had a really bad fracture in at least two places and my ankle dislocated. José the Orthopedic technician was the best I was in so much pain he took care of me and made me feel like everything was okay.
