I don't normally go "all out" for a shop like this but I was so blown away by what these folks did,…read moreI will go into extreme detail here to let anyone with a European car know what to expect should they come to this fantastically ran shop. First off, I'd like to thank John van Rensburg - the shop's Director - for leading a great team here. A very honest and charming individual, he's a no-BS automotive enthusiast and between him and his wife; they run a great shop here :-). I want to list some pros/cons of this shop before I get into the details of what services I had performed: Pros: -Extremely honest [listed out EVERY single part number used in every single service. While some of the parts had a bit of a markup, it certainly wasn't anything 'scammy'] -Excellent communication (when you could reach them) [They were very up-front with the services they were going to perform, the services they WANTED to perform, and EXACTLY what everything would cost - there were absolutely NO surprises in my invoice at the end of the day. -Very transparent [They had nothing to hide! I could walk in, completely unannounced and look through their giant window into their shop and even go out to talk with the people doing the work on-the-fly. No hesitation, no worried looks, no stink-eye, just honest conversation about the car's progress and what they were doing. SUCH a relief!] Cons: -Sometimes hard to get a hold of [John's a busy guy, and his crew are always working on some project. Nearly impossible to get them to answer an email but a quick call usually yields a quick response and a clarification of anything you need]. -Rushed work sometimes yields mistakes [while I am certainly the exception; I did have a loose exhaust bolt causing a bad rattle when I picked up the car and had also lost the ability to use cruise control - both items fixed immediately when I brought it to their attention.] What I had done: Ron, their welder/drivetrain specialist, did an absolute AMAZING job welding a massive fist-sized hole in my bellhousing. He did such a great job, you can barely see that anything was wrong to begin with! Would certainly pass a sellers inspection :-). Dax, their service technician, was very good good (albeit perhaps rushed a few things hear and there) and very communicative through all the major things he did. -Rod Bearings, VANOS rebuild, Subframe reinforcement, clutch and dual-mass flywheel replacement, giubo, rear main seal, associative bushings, installation and alignment of Koni Yellows and Eibach suspension setup, and installation and balance of new Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06+ tires all 'round. The car now feels like brand new and I can hit the 'reset button' on maintenance. If you are in the market for a very refreshing look at European car ownership; come to these folks. They have a customer for life now and my wife's 1971 Opel GT will be going under their knife later this year as a direct result of a great experience. THANK YOU ALL! :-)

I've taken my E36 BMW M3 to John and his Group 2 Motorsports a couple of times now, and I plan to…read moretake more of my cars there in the future. I've never had any issues with what they say they'll do, and they've been able to do jobs that other mechanic shops had to turn away. Their prices are reasonable, too. I highly recommend John and his Group 2 Motorsports.
