It's been a dozen years since I purchased a motorcycle from Skagit, as I was in the Tetons for ten years. I recently returned to Anacortes and bought a new bike from Skagit. The whole transaction took about five minutes and I returned the following day to pick up the bike. They were very fair on price and there were zero hiccups. This is an excellent business and I highly recommend them. I could have saved a couple hundred dollars at two other dealers some distance away, but I want to keep my business local and Skagit has always treated me well. I purchased two Ducati's from them years ago when they carried Ducati. Not only were they great to me, but also honored a warranty issue to the fellow who purchased my second Ducati. I brought my low mileage wr250r in for service as it wasn't idling properly. They tore it apart and about a month later told me the timing belt had slipped and the engine needed a rebuild. I had to question this as it only had 8k on it and had always been taken care of and not trashed. I was told this was a common problem with these and they typically needed a full rebuild around that time, and that they wanted 2100 dollars to rebuild the top end, plus whatever it took to rebuild the bottom end. I really couldn't accept that so I picked it up, brought it home, and took it to another mechanic I've been going to for 30 years. They typically don't work on fuel injection is why I brought it to skagit. They tore it open,found absolutely no issue with the timing chain or gears, no issues with the top end, put it back together, and then looked elsewhere. Turned out it was some junk clogging up the fuel pump inside the tank. They put it all back together and called me because body parts were missing. Turns out skagit had them and had forgotten to put them in the box with everything else. Mistakes happen, I get that. But to tell me I need to spend thousands on a top end rebuild? I can buy a big bore kit for 350. I know there's labor involved but that's a huge cost for a single, in addition to trying to get more money from me for a "posdible" bottom end rebuild. But to tell me to my face that these bikes typically need to be rebuilt before 10k? Yamaha makes a good bike and if there truly had been an issue with one of their well known and big selling motorcycles that resulted in a full rebuild that soon, they would've pulled it from the market. I have to say I'm truly not impressed with any part of this experience and won't be back. And after lying to me in what I feel was an attempt to get thousands out of me, I can't recommend them to anyone. read more

Very, very, very nice service gal! I had a problem/confusing issue with newly purchased KTM. She looked into the issue and fixed it on the spot with no appointment!! Loved my experience here. Cassandra the sales manager was spectacular. I live in Puyallup/Tacoma and shopped three locations. Over the phone she priced it right, I even debated asking her if she maybe forgot something. I purchased two bikes, a KLR 650 and XT 250 dual sport bikes. I made the drive all the way up there and was expecting the price to change. It didn't and I walked out with the two bikes! Great, great experience. I'd recommend everyone give them a shot. I liked the experience so much I'm really contemplating making the drive at least once to have the first service on both bikes done as appreciation to them for making the process so nice! read more

Today husband went here to check out bikes with his friends and when he got there and parked the bike all of the oil leaked out of his bike due to another motorcycle shop improperly screwing the bolt back into the oil pan. Luckily he was here and Conrad was there to help. Conrad assessed the situation, put a new bolt in and put new oil in. Since oil had been spewing out for a while on the trip from oak harbor to Burlington there was oil all over the bike so he got a wash too. After the new bolt, new oil, labor AND a bike wash it was still better priced than the previous shop that improperly put the bolt in and caused us to pay twice!! The bike was great but the service was not. *They never gave a clear outline of the purchase procedure. *Not once did they ever return one of my calls for information. *I was given 3 consecutive shipping dates. Best motorcycle shop I've done business with for gear, parts and service. Customer service is top shelf, A+. Really that good. The folks here are riders, they're honest and good people who know bikes and what riders need and want -- including LADY RIDERS. They are very rider oriented. They've worked on a Harley and Burgman Scooter for me and I'll keep bringing these bikes to them and referring them to other riders. Honestly overall disappointed with this business. Was told they could complete a fork rebuild in a week and it ended up taking 6 weeks. Then more recently we bought a bike there, was told they couldn't go a penny over blue book on a trade but also told us in the same vein they wouldn't budge on their price that was over $1,000 over Blue Book. If you want to use blue book as a standard the prices work both ways. Also was quoted 5% interest to finance and we applied (with great credit) and were given a quote at 10.99%. Took a hard inquiry hit on my credit only to ultimately be quoted a ludicrous rate. Ended up going with our own banking institution at 4.5% with instant approval over the phone. Through the whole experience I felt like the business didn't do a single thing for us except make the process more costly and slow. I was overall very disappointed with the service and attitude of staff here. Very disingenuous. read more

I'm getting ready to take a long trip and wanted my Yamaha FJR to be in top shape so naturally I took it to Skagit Powersports. This was a major service so I gave them a list of all that I wanted done. When I picked it up they said that they noticed I had a little problem with a drop that occurred last year (parking lot tip-over). I admitted my embarrassing accident. They brought it up because I broke the tab that holds the mirror and I made a temporary fix. Well, they engineered a new tab, bolted it on and probably saved me a $200 part if I tried to fix it myself. Then I took the bike for a 200 mile "shakedown cruise" and thought I was riding a brand new bike (its got 63,000 miles on it). The reason I went there instead of someplace closer (they're 60 miles away) is because I broke down about 10 miles north of their shop a couple months earlier so called their shop to see if they could help me. Without hesitation whoever I was talking to said he would come right up and get me, and he did! Ten minutes later a guy with a big trailer showed up. Once back in his shop, within an hour, he found the problem, corrected it and I was on my way. Turns out he was one of owners. So what I'm saying is if you want top notch mechanical work, great service and pricing that is more than fair then take your bike to Burlington, WA. It is worth it!!! read more

Upon a recommendation from another dealer, I drove the long drive to get hard to find parts for my quad. They ordered the parts and called me to come get them. I appreciated that they took the time to help me find what I needed. The staff was friendly and informative about other things I was looking at. They have a nice selection of motorcycle gear and many different brands of new and used bikes. They were not pushy when I was just window shopping the bikes. read more

Ok Im fricking done with Skagit Powersports. As a dealership they are fine but their service department just annoys and pisses me off. They do good work and are very friendly. I will give them that but their service department jesus chris they can F off. I visited there today and got a quote for my 1994 Ninja ZX600 to have a tune up and a coolant flush. The service manager Troy first cringed as soon as I said 1994 and then wanted $1000 for a tune up annnnnnnnnd they WILL NOT TOUCH IT until November. So I need a tune up done sooner than later and you wont touch it until winter rolls around?!!? Troy goes on to say that the summer is their bread and butter season and they only want to work on quick turnaround newer bikes during the summer and force people with older motorcycles to piss off until they are slow and desperate for jobs. ARE YOU FRICKING KIDDING ME?! First of all Mt Baker Moto-Sports did the exact job for me for $400 and they did it in June during the middle of the riding season. The manager Troy has given me the runaround for a couple of years and after today Im finally done with his shit. Ill never forget when I brought my KLX250S to him for a fork alignment all he did was bang the front tire against a pole and say thats about all you can do man. Took it to Mt Baker Moto-Sports afterword and what do you know they actually had tools and a tech fix my alignment. Turns out thats not about all you can do. They have lost me as a customer and I have brought my bike there for service, bought gear and bought a motorcycle there but after today when I really need a tune up done this summer for my Ninja they told me to piss off till winter.
