We thought this would take a week but it took 3 days - those goats take their work seriously. The good: -Billie and the goats and dogs (and emu) are all delightful. Billie was extremely accommodating and hard working. The goats and dogs are absolute sweethearts and all come running when they see you for pets. -Poison oak is now extinct on my property. -The ground is fertilized and there is nothing to clean up other than sticks. The bad: -Noise. The "baaa"-ing was one thing, but the guard dogs were pretty brutal through the night. We had some coyotes hanging around so there was lots of barking. So that's it, thanks for following. I'm really happy to finally be able to present this and I'm actively brainstorming on how we can get a goat co-op going in our neighborhood.

I went on for two kayak trips over the weekend -- Friday mid-day was choppy and windy, ebb tide with a LOT more animals and birds. Sunday early morning started out flat water at flood and got a bit windier as the ebb started. Fewer animals than Friday but more tourists, and also, jellyfish that blew in with the flood. Keep well clear of the animals - the guidelines I learned this weekend are: - keep 100 ft away (5-8 kayak lengths) - if a seal or otter is looking AT you - you are too close! - if a seal or otter takes evasive action, you are too close Just go out, keep your voices down (they carry well over the water and scare animals and birds) and enjoy watching nature!

There are multiple trails through the Point, and each of them showcase stunning views of the sea and saw well as flora and fauna It was barely raining while we were there and it never dampened our spirits. The trails got a little slick, but nothing too dangerous. In fact, this is more of a seaside walking path than a physical intensive hike We saw many seals and otters on our hike. There was also a rest stop that had park rangers and an interactive exhibit that was very cool. You could feel the skin of a seal, otter, and even the baleen from a whale Some tips: If you haven't explored Carmel or Monterey you are just a short drive away There are many coastal hikes and scenic points/beaches to explore. It was so easy to rent a bike on this Friday. A QR code is present at the check in area. You fill out the information and provide your credit card data. You then fill out a simple waiver before you get your bike. The staff here are so friendly and helpful. You select your helmet and the staff provides the bike based on your build. You can then get a phone holder or a saddle bag for additional storage,if needed. It's all included in the price. We chose the $55 for 4 hours of biking. (It's $10 extra per hour over the 4 hours.) We were then provided a quick tutorial of the bike process and its functions to allow for a smooth and carefree ride. It was all so easy! Off we went for nearly 4 hours of exploring the area. She was also very helpful and patient in setting us up with the proper equipment and going over the functionality of the electric bike before the tour. Having been to Carmel and 17 Miles before I had not expected much, but experiencing it on the bike with a guide was much much better and rewarding and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour! My wife and I had a blast! And don't worry about not being able to handle the heavier electric bikes over the hilly terrains, you'll get use to it and the boost from the electric motor makes the climbs simple!.
