Went in to check on a couple of things for my kids. Was given some crap attitude just because dude named Michael wanted to not be disturbed while playing skate on the TV. I grew up skating and coming here. But unfortunately, the shop has taken a drop in its service. Owner is chill and he is usually helpful and polite. But it's a bummer to see the terrible customer service and it being a huge turn off to other people including myself. Especially if someone may be coming in for their for time. Hope the dudes day gets better if he is having a bad day, but he is obviously grown enough and been at the shop long enough to know how he should be treating anyone new, young or old coming into the shop. Super racist workers who work here. The owner also does nothing either. I've witnessed multiple times where the people in this business spewed horrible attitudes and disrespect to certain customers who come in and don't fit into the stereotypical look of a skater, and because of this, they are ignored and not helped at all. They also like to take advantage of customers who are new to skateboarding and otherwise wouldn't know the actual prices of things, so they overcharge them. I've come into this shop multiple times with my children and nephews and have witnessed multiple times people of other races or those who don't fit the stereotypical look of a 'skater' who are treated completely different to my children and myself, in that they are completely ignored, not helped at all, or given a horrible attitude and judge mental looks towards. This is completely unacceptable and should not be tolerated. I will not be coming into this business any longer and will not be recommending it to anyone, and neither will my husband who works in the skateboarding industry. Avoid this place and don't support this business. They have no respect for anyone and have no business running a lemonade stand, let alone a skateboarding shop. read more

Almost feels like a hidden hole in the wall right by the beach. A great shop for parts, decks, new boards and a friendly staff... there are hundreds of autographed boards by pros far and away all over the ceiling which really creates a cool environment. Jim and everyone in his staff is always super helpful even if skating is new to you and they are here to help. My go-to spot for advice and parts... I went in to buy my son a skateboard and possibly get myself a new set up as well. The sales associate was having a personal conversation with his Buddy about what they were going to do that night. The first thing he says is that they were about to close. Not hello or how are you doing or how can I help you! Any greeting would've been nice! Then I pry him away from his conversation to ask him a few questions regarding my son's size and what set up I should get him. He did not want to help at all. I wanted to spend money but refuse to give anyone money for that kind of service. I have been shopping there since I was a kid and I will never go back or recommend this shop to anybody again! read more

There's a decent selection of boards in other gear, but I would say it is primarily a clothing shop. The staff were very inattentive and sat around laughing and having personal conversations during our entire visit. Not once did anyone say hello or ask if we needed help. We don't fit the stereotypical skater look and we are girls which I don't think helped. The entire shop is geared towards men, only men's clothes, only men's sizes, and the staff embody that. Soul Grind skate shop and Slappy's garage are far better places to go with infinitely friendlier staff and far better selection of actual boards and parts. read more

Pretty bummed with service here at the drive. I came in a purchased a pair of shoes with my guy. We were charged twice and it has been a hassle to get a refund. I have yet to receive one despite being told that the refund reflects on their end. My account however does not show and refund deposits whatsoever. I asked if I could possibly come in a pick out another pair of shoes or maybe a few shirts but was told no and that there was nothing left for them to do other than to "take it up with your bank." Ready? Set? Go. This is officially the sneaker head's (preferably nike SB) hideout. For those hypebeast who don't know about Pac Drive then...... sad times for you. Its one of the few skate shops in San Diego that has a decent Nike SB account. They usually have many of the exclusive SBs from Trainers, Blazers, Dunks, Dunks Hi, Dunk lows and Teams. Although the nike SB hype may be dying down. Its still a pretty cool place to hang out and skate. There are endless amouts of people who skate professionally who loiter the area. Usually their just skater bums who don't have nothing else to do but skate. There isn't any thing wrong with that! I'm pissed because I can afford to do it! besides from the Nike SB's they have a pretty good selection of other shoes, decks and tools you'll need. So if their is shoe that you know that is coming out and You don't want to risk buying it off ebay. Check this place first. Happy hunting! read more

Had a set of trucks I received as a gift, which I believe were purchased at this shop. I didn't have the receipt, but the trucks were brand new, unridden. I wanted to exchange them for a set of wheels (which cost more than the trucks & I was happy to pay the difference). They had the wheels I wanted in stock & carried the trucks I had. When I explained the situation & had it bounced off the manager, they said no, it would be too much trouble. Too much trouble to exchange an item & take extra money from me? OK, whatever. I went up the street to Soul Grind & they were more than happy to help me out. They gave me great customer service, unlike Pacific Drive did. I paid the difference for the wheels & also bought some additional items. When you need skate gear in P.B., go to Soul Grind, where they take care of customers. The young punks at Pacific Drive appear more interested in talking up the cute girls that pass by the shop, rather than giving good customer service! read more
