Unfortunately, my partner suffered heat exhaustion during a previous port stop, and we were advised to stay out of the heat for the remainder of our cruise. Because of that, we had to cancel our excursion at the last minute. I fully understand that businesses have cancellation policies, and I wasn't expecting anything guaranteed. I simply reached out to see if an exception could be made given the medical circumstances. While I received a prompt response, I was disappointed by the tone of the email. Rather than simply explaining that a refund wasn't possible, I was told my request was "improperly received" because I had replied to an automated email, even though I was only trying to include my invoice information. The interaction felt unnecessarily impersonal during what was already a stressful situation. I respect a company's right to enforce its policies, but exceptional customer service is often shown in how unusual situations are handled. Even if a refund wasn't possible, a more empathetic response or perhaps offering a future credit would have left a much better impression. I can't comment on the actual excursion since we were unable to attend, but I hope Discover Roatan considers showing a little more flexibility and compassion when guests experience legitimate medical issues while traveling.

Competition costs are especially high. Coach fees are expensive whether the competition is local or out of state. I came across this place and decided to give it a try. First/ second win was a free Trial class, YMCA did not offer that and the monthly tuition is also cheaper!!! The coach is very involved and has the girls moving, there are no long lapses with time. My grand daughter finds it much more challenging but she really enjoys it and is learning so much more. I deducted 1 point because there is not a lot of seating for the adults even when you arrive early.

He caught a ton of fish, mostly bass and most too small to keep, but he had a blast! He loves the fight! We had a few both trips to take home. We are newbies, but everyone on the crew was super nice and helpful to us. Bobby was exceptional. He helped my son so much and really looked out for him when he got a little sea sick. Another crew member gave him a little lure and talked to him about it, such a sweet guy! We've learned a lot from these trips and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

I love the idea that the company fosters--…read moreexposing kids to ocean fishing at a lower price point, but on this trip there were many small children(kids under 12 yo) that wandered aimlessly around the stern of the boat throughout the day. It seemed to me to be risky for them, as the majority of the time the boat was recommending that we use metal jigs with treble hooks to catch bonito and bullet tuna. MANY of the guests were casting these jigs blindly without looking behind them to ensure that nobody was in harms way!! Fortunately, nobody was hurt on this trip but potentially things could have been different. Perhaps limiting the casting of jigs to the bow of the boat exclusively might have been a consideration that could have reduced the risk to the small children(and adult passengers as well). Otherwise... the trip was enjoyable. The boat was kept clean. The crew were attentive to the needs of the passengers(although 2 crew members for 50+ people was not ideal) and the whole experience was positive.

I had been looking forward to it ever since--and it turned out to be absolutely the right decision. Our tour organizer, Charlie, guided us through the week with incredible experience and deep knowledge. He made sure we were always safe, comfortable, and engaged, and he led the trip with warmth, care, and a great sense of fun. And Tara and the rest of the staff were also very professional and friendly, and they created a wonderful tour where we could fully experience the whales and the surrounding nature with all our senses. I was the only participant coming from outside the States, but I quickly became friends with everyone on the trip, they were so nice. Even now, a month after returning from Mexico, I often find myself remembering those amazing moments--the feeling of touching a whale, the cool night breeze over the water, and the spray from the motorboat as we headed out into the lagoon. They remain such vivid and exciting memories. The desert landscapes, the cold burritos (beans and cheese!) we nibbled on in the boat--everything about the trip still sparkles in my mind. My friend and I had a really great day out on the 3/4 Day Extended Trip. The deck crew was…read morephenomenal: friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. The fish were biting -- albeit fairly close to shore -- so that was fun, but not the offshore trip I expected from the listing. The one real surprise/letdown was the fish cleaning. Everything I found online said to expect around $3 per small fish at Davy's Locker. We were charged $60 for three small calico bass and five bonita - so closer to $8 a fish. Each one maybe took 3min to clean. I grew up cleaning fish, so I knew this was a pretty ridiculous amoutn. I'd planned to tip the crew well because they earned it, but a surprise charge like that for a basic service took the wind out of me. Not a chance. Good trip, good people. Just post your cleaning prices clearly so nobody gets caught off guard. Next time I'll clean my own.
