The guys from Pacific Coast Tree made my life so much easier this week. From estimate to completion I think it took a week. This wasn't a small job either, this was 7 trees (including 2 over 100'), that they took down and ground the stumps in one days work. Did a fairly good job the first day. Only one issue was a large branch left hanging loose on the tree. Too high for us to reach. It's actually a safety hazard, if it drops on one of my grandkids heads they could well be seriously hurt. We were told the wood would be gone in 3 to 5 days, 6 weeks later the largest ones are still here. Numerous calls to ask them to clear the wood have been met with promises of tomorrow, tomorrow. Very disappointed. Just can't recommend them. read more

Shannon and his crew stepped in on a difficult tree when another company bailed on the job. Shannon's crew were great workers and worked safely and fast. They did exactly what was needed - get a 100+ foot fir tree down, chip up the branches and cut the entire tree into firewood length rounds, stacking it where I wanted. My wife and I returned to our home in Puyallup after a four year absence living in another state. While our friend and tenant took very good care of the property during our absence, the bushes and trees had grown immensely, including the tree in front of our property. They cut back several trees in our yard over the last three days. They did a good enough job, but they could have been better. There was a serious lack of communication between the owner and the young guy he sent to do the work. He wasn't here when he was supposed to be, and one day of work turned into three because he was unprepared. My husband did most of the communication with the owner, who said we wouldn't be charged to take down an additional and unexpected small tree. I knew nothing about this. My husband was still at work when they'd finished and the guy charged me an extra fee. He also asked me to make it out to him, not his company. Update: the owner just came to my door and reimbursed me the money he overcharged us and made things right. I can also tell that the trees (which are starting to bloom) and going to look really nice this summer:-) read more

I am the neighbor of a job that they did and their customer service is horrible. The owner of this company is rude & a liar. Our Back yard has been a mess for three weeks now. First they came in our yard without permission. It took us two weeks to get them to finally come back and move our play equipment for our kids then they put our fence back together wrong and didn't finish cleaning up their mess or fix the lock on our back gate that they broke and promised they would fix. But coming at 7:30pm when it is getting dark to fix things doesn't help. The "manager" of the company Shannon Mariotti, because his wife Angela is the "Owner" said he was going to come out personally and fix the issues then had to reschedule again and he then again sent two workers out at 8:00pm when it was dark so they couldn't do anything. They said they would be back the next morning at 7am and no one showed up. I did a little research on this company and found out that the "Owner" Shannon Mariotti isn't even the owner, his wife is and that he has had 4 other Tree companies over the past years most notably Mariotti Tree Company that has had issues with L&I and the department of revenue. He also had My Tree Company, Mariotti Firewood & Tree Co. and West Coast Firewood. Mr. Shannon Mariotti is a scam artist. After talking with the neighbor we found out he wasn't the original company that responded to her that she was given Pacific Coast Tree Service's number by the other company because they said they couldn't do the tree removal. He kept pushing her to write a 5 Star review. Shannon Mariotti is rude, a liar and very unprofessional no matter how much he says he wants to fix the situation he just tells you what you want to hear to get you off the phone. They many be quick to do the job, but they are not quick to fix their mistakes. We didn't even hire them and if this is how they treat the neighbors of customers I wouldn't hire them. I do my research and he has rubbed the wrong person the wrong way this time. You should know the type of "Manager" Mr. Shannon Mariotti is because his history doesn't show a change in his business practices. The workers are very nice and I do not blame them for the poor management of the company. UPDATE: 12/21/2017 After reading the owners comment I though you should know they started this job the beginning of the week of 8/14/2017. Came onto our property without permission. We had no idea this job was taking place otherwise we would have moved our children's play equipment ourselves along with other items so the work could be done, but no one came to our house to let us know what was going on and we were home because I had just had surgery. I wrote this review on 9/8/17 the morning they were supposed to be at our house at 7:30am to finally finish cleaning up their mess and when no one showed I had had enough. They finally showed up around 10 or 11ish. For three weeks our children could not play in our backyard or on their swing set because there was either logs or saw dust all over the backyard and we couldn't have them out there because the saw dust was getting all over our house when they came in from being outside. Our back gate was unsecured because instead of waiting for my husband to get home that morning to unlock the lock they asked to break the lock and they would replace it the same day and that didn't happen. Come to find out they ended up taking apart part of the fence because they could not break the lock, so it could not be locked at all and it sat like that for about 3 weeks. All we wanted was the mess cleaned up and things put back the way they were when they arrived. Yes, the fence is old and we were aware that a few areas had broke, but the trees they cut down there part of the support for the fence and they knew that when they started the job and they still cut them all the way down to the ground instead of leaving a taller stump to keep the fence up, which I spoke to our neighbor about after the fact and she would have been fine with them staying taller, but since this job was never discussed with us we had no say. It shouldn't matter if we hired them or not we should been considered when this deals with and affects our property as well. Yes, Shannon offered to replace the fence,which was never something we asked for, but that was after Shannon read this review and showed up at our house unannounced again at 6-7pm and tried to get us to take this review down. We weren't asking for anything unrealistic just things put back the way they were. If this experience has made them be more aware of their customer service then awesome, but I am not going to sugar coat or change my review for a bribe. Good or bad you need to take the review and own up to your mistakes and to this day they still can not own up to their mistake. They are not just trying to bad mouth us but also trying to make us look bad. read more

Note: This is a review from someone who actually contracted with Pacific Coast Tree Experts: We called Shannon because our wooded yard was getting way too densely populated with trees and brush. Shannon came to assess the area. It was evident from the start that Shannon knows his stuff. He identified the trees that needed to come down, told us how he would tame our wild blackberries and understood there are a few areas where we wanted to maintain privacy. Shannon gave us a start date and estimated 1 1/2 days to complete the work with a crew of five. We shook on it. On the day they were supposed to get there at 8:30. When I left for work at 7:45, Shannon was already there and ready to go. When I got home at 5:30, I was amazed. 95% of the work was already done and they were felling the final tree and starting cleanup. Shannon told me he wanted to bust out the work fast for us so he brought in a crew of eight to get it done in one day. We walked the yard and it was clear that Shannon not only did a great job on the work, he was sensitive to our need to keep privacy areas in the yard to retain its wooded look and feel. We couldn't be happier with Shannon's work and would not hesitate using him again or recommending him to others. The experience was stellar from start to finish. read more

Had estimate for work done by the FATHER of PACIFIC COAST TREE EXPERTS and gave him price 15% of price for down payment. Was told they would come the next Monday, but on Monday, they called & said they were too busy. They said they would come Tuesday between 7 & 7:30am. LEAD GUY named VITA (or something similar to that name), did not show up til 8:30am & was VERY RUDE. Said he would NOT do work promised because price promised me, wasn't enough money. Called owner's father & informed him of what was going on. Vita then called OWNER of PACIFIC COAST TREE EXPERTS, SHANNON, complaining about price & how long it would take. I talked to Shannon after Vita was finished & SHANNON TOLD ME THAT THE WORK WOULD BE DONE, EVEN IF HE HAD TO "EAT THE PRICE," because it sounded like a misunderstanding either on my part or his Dad's." After hanging up from Shannon's promise, VITA SAID, "NO, I'M THE LEAD AND WE ARE NOT DOING THE WORK." He said, "Good luck getting the work done for that price." He gave me my deposit money back and the guys packed up & left. He seemed as though he was was accusing me of trying to cheat them, which wasn't the case. Dont trust this company. If the father of the owner's company gives me the price and the owner (Shannon) says the work will be done, because its probably a misunderstanding, it means NOTHING. read more

These guys are great! Shannon and his crew were hired to take down a large pine tree, that was surrounded by buildings. The tree had several tops. A very technical job. They took it down with the skill of a surgeon. When it was all done the jobsite was left clean. As far as value, I was quoted the most competitive price and even though the job took longer than planned, Shannon and his crew got it done for the bid price. I am going to tell all my friends about Pacific Coast Tree Experts. No need to ever call anyone else in the future. I've got my "tree guy". Their name says it all, EXPERTS. I was a nervous wreck about taking down two large cedar trees that were too close to the house (and causing damage to the roof). They came out and quoted same day. They were available 5 days later to do complete the work. Since our job was a "small job" that would be done after their others, they could only estimate the approximate time they would be there but they arrived within 30 minutes of their estimated arrival time..yeah! Not only were they quick and efficient with their work, they caused no damage (like I said I was nervous about them being only 3 feet away from the house) and they did a fantastic job cleaning up afterwards! They went above and beyond by cleaning out the underbrush and shrubs that had died next to the trees and even ground out roots from those big trees. I had hired them to cut down the 2 trees, trim a third tree and to do stump grinding. I would certainly recommend them wholeheartedly and would hire them again. A++ work! Thank you! read more

I live in Georgia but needed work done on a property in Tacoma. Shannon came out to look over the work and suggested the best course of action. I hired him because he is very knowledgeable, confident, reassuring, and thorough. Since I had to return to Georgia, we had to work together over the phone which was challenging. Shannon was very responsive to all my texts and calls. He sent his crew out promptly, and the work was completed in a day. I can not emphasize enough how wonderful this company is to work with. I am the roommate of Faye who put a review on for Pacific Coast Tree Experts. Shannon's response is wrong and slanderous towards her. She took pictures of the tree that was to be worked on a few days prior to when they came to our house. The photos are date and time stamped. If she took pictures today, there would be no alterations shown from the previous ones. Proof is in the pictures. There was no free work done at all done, as Shannon from the Pacific Coast Tree Experts states. First, Faye was told they would arrive the day before and cancelled. Then she was told they would come the next day between 7:00 and 7:30 am. When I left right before 8:00 am, a worker was waiting outside and asked me if it was the correct house for the tree work. Faye states all the workers did was unpack some equipment and wait for the lead supervisor to arrive. They said they had to wait for his direction before they could proceed. Faye said the lead supervisor didn't arrive until 8:30 and then said he wanted $1,600 instead of the $900 quoted on the invoice. He gave her the 15% cash down payment back to her, but no work at all was done. All she did and all the workers did after unpacking some equipment was wait for him. No paid work, no free work, no 2 hours of free work as the owner states, was done to the tree. As stated previously, Proof is in the pictures. If photos were taken today from the same exact views of the tree from the previous ones, it would show no alterations done at all. Slander is wrong and if she went to court, there is no doubt she would win. Perhaps the lead supervisor is attempting to cover his late arrival to the owner, by claiming to be at the house working when he wasn't even here. Give it some thought and get the truth from the lead and admit to the wrong doing and slander against her. Thanks. read more
