His personal…read morededication, high standards and professionalism has made him and his business as successful as he is! A few years ago, we had some work done to the siding of our kitchen bay window. At that time we used a word-of-mouth contractor, who at the time portrayed he knew what he was doing, and once he was done it "appeared" to have been done correctly. Fast forward about 3 years later, and that work he performed, turned out to have been done by cutting a lot of corners, and done incorrectly! Since then, Cody established his business, and has been a saving grace. When I contacted him about the work, I provided photos of the damage, and he directed me to his scheduler. She informed us, he was booked out until after the first of the year, however he managed to squeeze us in at the same time he had another job in our area. Cody and his crew arrived on time at our home. We have a Ring camera and was able to see when they were moving around. What I noticed right away was his crew setting up a pop-up canopy as we had been having some inclement weather like we normally do in the PNW. This assured me, they were taking the situation seriously and not trying to get by, while doing their work in the rain. Additionally I could see their van in one of our camera views and it was fully stocked with equipment needed for the job. The fact Cody and his team started with a pop-up canopy gave me confidence and reassurance the job would be done right. Needless to say, Cody and his team uncovered some "interesting" work. There were lots of gaps in the wood that allowed air flow and water to seep in because the work was not flashed and sealed correctly. They had to replace the window sill on the inside, cut out mold, and replace any other damaged or missing wood. After it was all done he reassured it was done correctly, and flashed and sealed so we wouldn't have any future issues. When the last "contractor" worked on this area, they also painted our home, yet left the paint buckets open, which made the remaining paint dry out. Cody and his team was able to get the paint needed and color matched it to the existing color. I would highly recommend Cody and his team to anyone. They are efficient, on time, professional and he expects an exceptional quality of work.

Would absolutely recommend Stonewood and use them again ourselves.

After mediation I signed a waiver releasing stonewood of future issues. Fast forward to 2021 when mold appeared suddenly on my ceiling and drywall tape started separating. To my dismay, Stonewood Construction did not follow my city approved plans and the entire roof was not vented. Anyone familiar with a shed style roof knows that the venting is different then your traditional roof. The damage is extensive, estimated at $70,000 including removal of a large section of the roof. Stonewood Construction has chosen not to cover the damage, falling back on the old totally unrelated CCB agreement. This is their right. However they do not appear to have the ethical standards to pay for this repair. It was their huge mistake, and I believe that an excellent company would take care of this regardless of the CCB board ruling because it is the RIGHT thing to do. Buyer beware!!!!

We are very pleased with the final product and his work process. Ryan is punctual, communicates clearly and proactively, takes pride in his work, and offers an excellent value. His estimate was markedly lower than the other company's, and the final cost was exactly what I expected it to be. Also, the project timeline matched what he told us it would be during his initial estimate visit. No surprises. Just excellent work. While Ryan is not a designer, he was able to offer helpful feedback as I selected tile and designed the configuration. As I said, look no further.

The interior plastering and painting that his team did are very beautiful, as are the repairs to the exterior siding and door surrounds. We had hoped that our project would be straightforward--a leaking tile roof over a sunroom--but when extensive dry rot was discovered Moir's team moved to do the required demolition and reconstruction without delay. They did not miss a beat. Everyone on the crew was a pleasure to work with. Every day they cleaned up their tools and the work site before leaving, and always arrived on time the next day. We compliment each and every one of the Moir crew. We offer our highest recommendations for Moir Construction to friends, family, and neighbors. I finally have the kitchen I want, and for a reasonable price tag. John and his team delivered a fabulous product. Our previous kitchen was a design mess. It was dark, ergonomically crazy and not fun to cook in. I HATED it! We had some ideas about what we needed to fix, but John had the vision of what to do and was good explaining his ideas. They worked well with us to reduce costs too. We were able to assemble our own ikea cabinets saving a bit there. I would not recommend this unless you have done some Ikea assembly and are familiar with their methods. We also did much of our own deconstruction of the old kitchen. We had previously put down hardwood floor, so we had to remove old cabinets, appliances and wall tiles. We did as much as we could, which was down to the wall. John and his crew came in and worked very efficiently. Ours was not a 5 day kitchen as they had to do more structural and more plumbing and move gas lines etc. We had a great new kitchen in 3 weeks. They were responsive quickly with a few little things we found to touch up after the construction. We are still very happy with our kitchen. What amazes me is that we had about 4 feet of counter space before and now have about 14 feet and the place does not look crowded. Our kitchen looks so much bigger than before. Design makes a difference. Creativity and innovation make a difference. I recommend working with these folks.

Pros: ========================== -Everyone I met at Kaminski was friendly and professional. -They did the work I contracted with them to do in a fairly short period of time. -When the guys came to do the job they did quality work, in a very professional manner. -When they left, I even considered contacting them to replace the old galvanized pipe in my house sometime over the next year. I actually mentioned it to their carpenter before he left. That outcome seems unlikely now for the reasons that follow. -Once I posted my review I got a call asking how I could be more satisfied. I realize I am not their only client, and don't consider my job to be any more important than anyone else's. This said, I appreciate the effort. -I did get a refund for them for... something. Not sure what it was for. (See my last "Con" item. Cons: ========================== -We were told that they would charge half the bid in deposit, then they charged the whole thing. In fairness they reversed this charge. -My only sincere complaint is the opacity of their billing. Don't get me wrong. they gave me a VERY detailed estimate and - as I mentioned in the first part of my review - they sent me a partial refund of the initial charge. Gosh this is going to sound like I am complaining just to complain, but hear me out. The real issue is I have not yet received a detailed explanation of exactly what I was charged for. When I spoke to the company I was told that prep work went longer than expected, and was told I would get a detailed invoice. Look, I am not going to quibble over the price. I am not looking for a refund I am not due. The fact is I signed the contract, but I want to know where the money went. That is all. They did great work, and I now more than trust them. Conclusion: ==================== First impressions matter fair or not. The final assessment is, though I would work with them again, I just want to a receipt. Their bids are detailed enough that this should be doable.
