A few years ago, we had some work done to the siding of our kitchen bay window. At that time we used a word-of-mouth contractor, who at the time portrayed he knew what he was doing, and once he was done it "appeared" to have been done correctly.
Fast forward about 3 years later, and that work he performed, turned out to have been done by cutting a lot of corners, and done incorrectly!
Since then, Cody established his business, and has been a saving grace. When I contacted him about the work, I provided photos of the damage, and he directed me to his scheduler. She informed us, he was booked out until after the first of the year, however he managed to squeeze us in at the same time he had another job in our area.
Cody and his crew arrived on time at our home. We have a Ring camera and was able to see when they were moving around. What I noticed right away was his crew setting up a pop-up canopy as we had been having some inclement weather like we normally do in the PNW. This assured me, they were taking the situation seriously and not trying to get by, while doing their work in the rain. Additionally I could see their van in one of our camera views and it was fully stocked with equipment needed for the job. The fact Cody and his team started with a pop-up canopy gave me confidence and reassurance the job would be done right.
Needless to say, Cody and his team uncovered some "interesting" work. There were lots of gaps in the wood that allowed air flow and water to seep in because the work was not flashed and sealed correctly. They had to replace the window sill on the inside, cut out mold, and replace any other damaged or missing wood. After it was all done he reassured it was done correctly, and flashed and sealed so we wouldn't have any future issues. When the last "contractor" worked on this area, they also painted our home, yet left the paint buckets open, which made the remaining paint dry out. Cody and his team was able to get the paint needed and color matched it to the existing color.
