Dr. Ashrafzadeh truly has magic hands! My infant son began showing signs of plagiocpehaly around 2 months of age. Our pediatrician told us to "wait and see," and by five months old the plagio was measuring in the severe range. We were referred to a cranial orthotist and a neurosurgeon to be measured for a helmet. I was completely overwhelmed at the prospect of months of "helmet therapy," and was doing some online research when I stumbled upon Pacific Coast Osteopathy. From the moment we walked in to Dr. A's office I began to feel at ease. She really took the time to listen to our family's concerns and connected with us on a personal level. She exudes a confidence that is so reassuring, and she even explained a lot of the manipulations she was doing as she progressed through the treatments so we felt like we were all a part of the process. These treatments ended up being among the best decisions that my husband and I have made for our son. They have helped him in ways that a helmet never could. For instance, his sphenoid bone was out of place, preventing his sinuses from draining at night and causing an endless stuffy nose (and endless restless nights). That was fixed the first week! His digestion had always had a bit of trouble in the early months, but she corrected it by taking pressure off of his vagus nerve. I'm rambling now, but I can't believe this treatment was so gentle, effective, and even ended up being less expensive than the crazy helmet. Best of all, after just six visits my son's plagiocephaly is now undetectable. His eyes are symmetrical and aligned, and his other issues are long forgotten. He didn't suffer for months in an uncomfortable orthotic device, but instead received the kindest healing touch from one of LA's greatest doctors. If you are in a similar position and looking for help with plagiocephaly, I cannot recommend this office enough. As a final note, I wanted to mention that I saw Dr. A for treatments myself and they were also amazing in their own right. Dr Ash is my saviour. I'm 20 years old and started seeing her nearly 6 months ago. I came to her after developing incredible pain in my lower back, horrible sciatica, a numb left leg which had caused my toes to curl and also some dislocated ribs which I didn't know existed! I'm australian and had met my Mum in Hawaii early November. Mum ended up coming back to LA with me as I was not good. Previous to this I had been on steroids from my General practitioner. This made it worse and I ended up calling him in tears which is when he prescribed me Tramadol and a referral for a neurologist. I had been taking up to 12 Advil per day as the pain was so bad. The day Mum came back we saw the neurologist who ordered an MRI. The MRI showed a minor bulging disc but she said it wouldn't be causing all of this. She booked me in for a nerve test (EMG) but not for 6 weeks. Feeling completely defeated, Mum started researching. Back home, we have osteopaths, physios and myotherapists we see religiously but it's not as common here. Mum found Dr Ash and called her to see what she can do. On my first appointment she identified, yes, I had horrible sciatica and another nerve damage as well as my ribs. I saw Dr Ash every week for a couple of months and now we've moved to every 2 weeks. After a few sessions, I had all feeling in my leg and the lower back pain had pretty much gone. My ribs have been a pressing issue but everytime, Dr Ash puts them back in and away we go. She has also removed a lot of heaviness and stuff (as she calls it) from my head. I suffered multiple concussions as a child and never realised that I had a constant headache. It's now gone! You must go to these doctors!!! If you have any kind of pain, go see Dr. Ashrafzadeh or Dr. Babayan. I have been treated by both of them and they are truly gitfted physicians. My main doc is Dr. Ashrafzadeh. I was sent to Dr. Ashrafzadeh by my GP for chronic back and hip pain. I have been in pain from a car accident for 15 years. She is the only physician to ever tell me I would be pain free. I have tried everything so I did not know what to expect. The treatments started making a difference after about 3 visits. Over 3 months we were able to go from weekly, to bi-weekly to almost once a month visits. In that time, I went from taking 3 pain pills a day to NONE. The fact that nobody told me about this type of treatment in 15 years made me mad and I am so blessed to have found Dr. Ash. I got to a point when I actually had days I could not remember what the pain felt like. This after countless rounds of tests, physical therapy, cortisone shots, pain management doctors, etc. Ok, so that is the clinical part of the review - I had pain, she made me feel better. The results speak for themselves. What you cannot get from a review is how completely dedicated she is. Her manner of treating makes you feel like she cares about ALL of you, not just whatever has brought you there. I am about to start my son (11 and has ADHD) for treatments. Our entire family has been seeing Dr. Ashrafzadeh and Dr. Babayan for the past year and a half. They have been instrumental in my own postpartum healing, as well as correcting my son's torticollis and plagiocephaly. It is rare to find doctors that will REALLY hold space and listen to you, not to mention their hands are magic! After a couple sessions, my son's plagiocephaly was greatly reduced and he began sleeping better, nursing better, etc. Osteopathy addresses issues systemically and your entire wellbeing is better for it. I have been treated and healed through two different injury episodes. The first was a rotatory cuff injury that resolved after two treatments. My 2.5 year old son had fluid in his ears that would not go away. Our ENT said that if it did not clear we were going to have to put tubes in his ear (via surgery). The healing begins as soon as you enter the office of Pacific Coast Osteopathy! There is a beautiful fountain and garden just outside the office windows, and once you walk inside, there is a sense of tranquility and balance. Dr. Ashrafzadeh treated me while I was pregnant to help my body prepare for a natural delivery, and to treat the round ligament pain that was bothering me at all hours of the day and night! After my baby was born, I took my son to see Dr. Ash, and she helped to facilitate the recovery of his little head, body, and nervous system following his trip through the birth canal. Although it wasn't a traumatic birth per se, I believe that the journey through the birth canal can cause issues that people accept as "normal." I truly believe in preventative "medicine" which is why I took him for a treatment even though he didn't experience any complications. After I was successfully treated by Dr. Ash and Dr. Babyan for chronic back pain and vertigo, I've since gone to them regarding fertility issues. It's been years since I've had a regular menstrual cycle, it typically ranged from 35 - 55 days. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 5 yrs, we've seen fertility specialists (who all said we're both in good health and there are no apparent issues except ovulation is difficult to predict) even after a couple months of Clomiphene my cycle wasn't regular. I am 29 years old and for the past year or so I have suffered greatly from constant headaches/migraines. I started getting migraines suddenly after what we figured out might have been a slight concussive incident while driving. In a desperate plea to fix the solution rather than covering up the pain purely with medication, I sought out alternative answers. Dr. Ash and Dr. B have truly changed the course of my life. Although I still consider myself very active in the treatment process I have made a 180 as far as health is concerned.
