In less than an hour he had our door fixed, explained the issue in detail, and gave us options if we'd like to replace the motor when I inquired about it (we will definitely use their service in the future for a motor replacement). Overall: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Communication: 5/5 Price: Reasonable…read more I requested quotes from 5 different businesses around the area and decided to pick KJs because their pre-sales service was the best and their pricing was the best as well! I had brown wooden garage doors that had gaps underneath and issues when the doors closed so we wanted to find a similar replacement. I liked how I didn't need to re-paint the garage doors because one of the options was to get the brown doors, and the cost was the same as getting white doors (had to wait a few weeks for delivery). Once the doors arrived, Kyle emailed me and we scheduled an installation date. Daniel called me the morning of to confirm the time and did a great job removing and installing the new doors! They even blew out the leaves from our garage floor! Would definitely recommend!

UPDATE (Resolution): After my initial review, the owner, Khoi, came out personally with his team to…read moreassess the situation and successfully resolved the issue by properly remounting the garage door brackets. I appreciate him stepping up to fix the safety hazard. My original review of the initial installation experience is below: They installed my brand new garage doors a several years back and I just found a massive hazard caused by their work. The center metal bracket that holds the heavy springs was ripping out of my ceiling. When I looked closer it appears the installer completely missed the wood stud. One side might have barely caught a piece of wood, but the other side was just screwed straight into empty drywall. I was told by another professional that you cannot mount springs with hundreds of pounds of tension to hollow drywall. I texted and called the company showing pictures clearly showing the metal crushing the drywall and leaving a huge hole. His response was literally "What do you think is wrong, I don't see anything wrong." When I pushed back, he actually tried to tell me that only one side needs to be in wood and the other can just be anchored in drywall.

He came on time and immediately began the swap. In took all but 2 hours and he even installed the extra rollers I had. Now my garage is whisper quiet, I even got a decibel reader app and it averaged 4db quieter. I am very happy with the results. Mario once again did an amazing job and for a very fair price. If you're looking for reliable garage service in Gilroy, look no further than Mario Fortino. I originally called him for a clearance issue, but his thorough inspection caught a broken spring system that I hadn't noticed. It explained a lot of the 'heaviness' I was feeling with the door! Because I was in a rush to pick up my kiddos, Mario and his son teamed up to get the new roller system installed in record time. They were professional, honest about the pricing, and just all-around great guys to work with. The door operates perfectly now. I'm already planning on having them back to install a newer LiftMaster with a battery backup. Five stars for Fortino's Garage Service!

He fixed the part that was broken, the big spring, and then replaced the two side cables for just $10 more. I had first gotten a quote from a different highly-rated company on Yelp, which had cost me $50. They'd quoted me all these repairs and replacements with premium parts that would've cost ~$800 more than what Mike charged me. Mike was really up front and we kind of laughed as he identified the other company's style perfectly: that they have this fancy list of things that need to be done and up-sell on every single part. Instead, it was so refreshing to work with someone who is honest and up front and does the work competently without any of that salesman vibe. And I can't beat the convenience of texting pictures to diagnose the problem instead of having to set up another appointment just to get a quote. I would gladly hire Mike again and have recommended him to my neighbors in North San Jose.
