She did a root canal and placed a porcelain crown that, to this day, is still intact. The doctor was super patient with me, always concerned about how I was feeling and explaining the entire procedure in detail, because I'm very afraid of going to the dentist. That's why I had neglected my teeth for a long time. But after I found Dr. Kathilde, I lost that fear because she always makes me feel calm--she has a lot of patience with me. I now live in NJ, but I still travel to NYC just to have cleanings and treatments done by her. I recommend her 1000%. The assistants who work with her are always kind, calling to check how I'm doing after each procedure, calling to remind me of my next appointment, and if I can't make it due to work, they always find a way to reschedule me for another day. Honestly, Appolon Dental makes me feel at home--from the assistants, to the people who help Dr. Kathilde, and the doctor herself--everyone is an amazing team.

She placed a crown and told me normally a porcelain crown has a shelf-life of at least 10 years. I didn't go back after the placement because I felt so defeated and didn't have 30k to spend on my teeth. Three years later, I have an incredible dentist who told me the biggest issue was some tartar buildup and gingivitis. I still have all of my teeth, except for the crown that broke in half tonight while eating chicken. I repeat: chicken. This practice is a crack job. The city is too big for you to be giving your money to a hack who dabbles in fear mongering and cheap supplies. Heading to my dentist tomorrow to fix the last of what was extensive emotional damage and apparently, a bit of physical damage too.

I was there late afternoon and I didn't have a problem finding a parking place but it looked like it spaces were at a premium. You can't miss the building. Large glass building. I think the kid's dental stuff is downstairs, you can see the play area, and the adults were upstairs. Decent sized waiting area with comfortable couches. TV and magazines as well. Everyone was very polite and nice. My first visit so you have to fill out paperwork which took about 15 minutes. Cleaning and initial exam took about two hours. Not bad as they seem very busy. None of my wait times were bad at all. They call you and text you to remind you of your appointment the day before. Definitely worth the trip.

I copied and pasted the review above as they have done the same to my family and I. They appeared on Zoc-doc as in-network. The visit was for routine cleaning with no mention of being out of network. They added work and use this to charge out of pocket (I'm now led to believe that's there tactic). They never submitted a claim as per my insurance, but the receptionists insists she did. I checked my online insurance account and there were no claims submitted. Now they want payment up front before a supposed resubmission of a claim. When we ask for proof of submission they state they are unable because its electronic (In this time of advanced technology). Huge lack of integrity beware! But when I showed up, they informed me they had just discovered my insurance wouldn't cover the visit and that I'd need to pay out-of-pocket. This is basic information that should have been verified well before the day of the appointment--especially after all their communication leading up to it. It shows a serious lack of organization and respect for patients' time. I won't be returning and strongly advise others to look elsewhere if they expect even the bare minimum level of professionalism.

He's really an artist when he works on your mouth - he is very careful and notices even the slightest flicker of discomfort and will quickly readjust to make sure that even the longest procedures are painfree. He is also great at giving you very clear explanations of what his is doing and why and helping guide you to the best choice. His dental assistants are wonderful as well, and have been with him for years,and you can tell how much he respects and values them and vice versa. They're very confident and also quick to step in to guide and inform you, and they go a long way to making your experience a very easy one. Everything is done in house, quickly and with a lot of compassion. Its such a long way from the usual large, impersonal dental practices. Here everything is very person and you feel like everyone really cares about you and their other patients. Sheila, Dr Farbman's wife is the office manager and receptionist, and she is so warm and caring. She remembers every detail and is always friendly and smiling and quickly puts all your fears at ease. She is incredibly efficient and will always make sure that you get the right appointments, that the office runs smoothly, and does so while being incredibly nice. There is never a wait at Dr Farbman's. He manages his time so well. After years of hour long waits for a dentist, I am so grateful for someone who manages his time and that of his patients' so well. I've had a number of procedures done by Dr Farbman and he is the absolute best dentist. I was not told who would be seeing us but we just trusted the system. Check in was easy and staff seemed good. They called before to confirm appointment. Office was clean and bright! TV's on the ceiling. We were seen by Dr. Wee and she was great! She was patient and funny. Dr Wee explained everything, showed me on his X-rays what was happening. Also what we needed to look out for. My son was really nervous but she made his experience with getting a cavity filled not so uncomfortable. She also put sealant on his other teeth. I would highly recommend Dr. Wee. We will need to return in six months. We will definitely return to Dr. Wee.

Why am I giving this review 2 stars then? The office staff leave much to be desired. After going to the office for years- I get a Text message... not a phone call that our insurance only pays 80 percent of bill and we would be on hook for 20 percent. This is the night before the appointment. I text back- how is that possible? Our insurance has not changed. Got texts back and forth saying they no longer take our insurance and that we would be billed via out of network. It's completely unprofessional to have this type of conversation the night before an appointment and also via text message! Why wouldn't a phone call be done? I was so annoyed that I cancelled the appointments and I told them I better not be on the hook for the cancellation charge since they are the ones who didn't tell me until the night before that they have this insurance change. When I asked when this change was implemented- they were vague and said it was a few days ago. Even if recent you should have the courtesy to make an actual phone call. They didn't even apologize. Great dentist but poor poor staff. I would not trust them to do the billing after that.
