Everyone here was nice for the most part. One lady behind the desk just refused to ever wear her mask above her nose every time I saw her. Seeing the dentists and hygienist wasn't bad either. It was the bill that got me. After asking the prices to get certain things done. They told me with my insurance is only have to pay $50 here $60 there. But I had to pay it before the appointment. Which, I did (and thought was weird) I've got there a few more times within the month and it was the same thing, no visit was over $70. I got an email from my dental insurance saying my statement was ready, so I went to see the details. It said I owe some care group over $300! No one ever told me about any additional cost (even though I asked exactly how much everything was). I also got billed for really weird things like "explanation of dental routine" (which was $80). They also charged my insurance $700 for a cleaning, which I was responsible for $180 of. The other weird thing is, you can't get an itemized receipt. They don't do that. They'll just send you a regular "we charged you X amount for some sort of service" receipt. Now I have to deal with this outrageous billing they screwed me over with even though I paid them already. TL;DR: Don't go here unless you wanna pay for your visits twice. read more

My first visit was great from the moment I walked in .front desk were very friendly and assistant that greeted me was so sweet and patient with me. I started seeing Dr Shafee for the past few months and I am very impressed with the staff and the whole office atmosphere. Smile Care Dental Group always goes above and beyond. My entire family goes to this practice and we always get amazing care. Yesterday, I was in extreme pain due to my wisdom tooth. I thought it would be appropriate to write an updated review since this dental group relocated to a new location ( the new office is beautifully designed and very spacious). My family and I continue seeing Dr. Shafee and other dentists in the group for all our dental needs. They are so invested in your dental health that none of us ever missed our 6 month check up appointment since they time we became patients in this practice. Their new office space makes you feel like you are checking into a 5 star hotel and their skills and communication convey that they truly care for their patients. The front desk staff is courteous, professinal and very accommodating. Paramus location is a smidge further, but we would continue seeing this dentist even if he had moved to another state :) read more

I was nervous to visit any dentist from just having previous negative experiences in the past, but I must say that this office was completely different. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome from the receptionist Crystal and was given a tour of the location. The reception area is very cozy and welcoming as well. I then received the most ultimate care for my money from Dr. Ula Kodak, she was amazing. She handled my teeth with care and was very thorough with the procedure. She even took her time and answered all of my questions and ensured that I felt comfortable during the procedure. I came in for a cleaning and she realized I needed a fill in for one of my teeth and had the receptionist check with my insurance if I would be covered as well for a quick procedure. The staff was kind and courteous from the moment I entered the door till well after I had gone home, going as far as giving me a check up call. Wanted to update my review since this dental group got this new beautiful location! I have been going to Dr.Shafee for over 8 years. Born and raised in former Soviet Union, I had a deeply ingrained fear of dentists and that created a lot of dental problems. Become a patient of Dr.Shafee was nothing but life changing for me and my family. Immaculate dental work, attention to every detail, professionalism and outstanding bedside manner is only a few characteristics that make him stand out among other dentists that I have seen. Beside that he is a wonderful human being who truly cares for his patients and the best outcomes for them. I had numerous fillings, numerous root canals, an implant and braces - all while in my 30s...I could not be happier with my smile now. At this point we only see him for cleaning and checkups ( my husband and older child come here too h because everything he has done held up beautifully. His office staff is incredible and new location is phenomenal! I had a pleasure of seeing other dentists in his office ( all your dental needs can be addressed at this practice) and they were wonderful in their skill and communication. What a find! I was a first time customer today for a dental cleaning at Smile Care and my experience could not have been any better. It all started with their office manager Suzy who confirmed my appointment and sent paperwork in advance to be filled out which made my arrival much easier. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly welcomed and professionally given a tour of their offices. Who does that??? Everything is very open, clean and modern with very techy equipment. The assistant Danelly then sat me down and did my x-rays and was also very pleasant and nice. Dr. Baraty then discussed my x-ray results, showed me everything then proceeded to clean my teeth and polish them up. There was no discomfort and the process was thorough yet seemed like it was over quickly. After Dr. Baraty was finished, I also received a consultation from Dr. Shafee who was also very thorough and professional. From this point on, I will be a regular customer and recommend that everyone give this place a try at least one time. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
