Dirty bastards...have stolen all the local coffee addicts in the area. As one of many locals in area, P&R have absolutely dominated the coffee crown. Using different kinds of blends and single origins each visit, you will be asked and told where your coffee comes from. Have your coffee anyway you want, any style. But aside from his outstanding drops, the rustic feel of their menu only shows the effort and freshness made into each dish. You will never taste a more powerful zing in each bite. It can take more than a few mins to 10 mins for an order, but the que upon is reason why. It's just that good! Always will come back here.

If polygamy is ever made legal, I'm going to petition to marry Pablo & Rusty. These doyens of coffee first claimed my fealty in Gordon, but the duo raised themselves to marriage material after I paid a visit to their newest cafe in the heart of Lane Cove's Plaza. The beautifully designed surrounds bring a hint of Surry Hills to the lower North Shore, while the coffee is skillfully and artfully crafted by the busy bee baristas. I'm told there are also handmade popsicles, which, come summer, might just make me even more head over heels. I'm also told the name is a homage to a pair of brother-in-law coffee fanatics. I fear that will add a few more barriers to marriage. Sigh...

This place does good coffee and is reliably good. The queues here are long especially on a weekend morning where mums and dads are getting are getting their morning fix before taking the kids off to Saturday morning sports. There is also a limited menu here. They serve simple food which is done well. My only complaint is the slowness of their service especially with the take away coffee. It is not unusual to wait at least 20mins for a coffee. If you are not in a hurry its not so much a problem as you can take in the goings on of lane cove plaza. But if you just want a coffee fix it is a bit of a wait. However once you get it, the coffee is very good!

Dbl mac.... light on the milk... :-)

Now that the first round of reviews are done, being able to order my coffee here specifically has made all the difference. The first time I came here and ordered a dbl mac that was so watery and over espressed that I was extremely disappointed. However from those low lows, it has improved dramatically! The crema was brilliant, and the flavour of my coffee was rich but not burnt. Really great effort... :-) Given that I had a bit of a food craving as well, it is just a shame they don't sell bacon. Only real breakfast options they had was a poached egg, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms on sourdough for $15... though the sour cherry French toast sounds pretty fine for $12. Overall, I am just really happy that my experience the first time I came here was not the standard. Great little cafe. Great coffee and good poached eggs! I can only vouch for those as that is the only thing i've eaten. They have indoor which is more communal based and outdoor seating more for groups of 2 or more. It sometimes feels crowded inside even when there are only a handful of people there. Their menu is on the blackboard on the wall behind the coffee machine, sometimes you have to walk in and stand in front of it in order to understand the writing. Overall, its ok.

The little engine that could!…read more And this place is little. Constructed on the far left hand corner at the bottom of the escalators at Chatswood Interchange, it's difficult to miss as you can see the steam rising from Barista magic at work. It's busy, in a worker bee sense. People come and go clutching coffee, whilst 3 artisans work their craft. I rolled in here with my two elderly companions on Wednesday post lunch, and we were drawn to the little padded seats at the back, which also opens through to the other side. Ordering, then taking a seat, our talking point became the shelves in front of us with coffee and train paraphernalia. I grabbed the HONY book on display and attempted to explain the concept to the ex-journalist at my right. The book (from 2010) unfortunately contains only the images and captions, not the stories that we have all seen on Facebook, but I think she got what I meant. Soon after, the coffees arrived. Soy Latte. Flat White. Cappuccino. Our cappuccino drinker said the flavour was lovely but she wanted it "hotter". The flat white drinker remarked in earnest tones that it was wonderful. I just drank mine and smiled. Yes it was damn good. One of the best Soy Latte's I've had. No bitterness. A smooth, flavourful brew with some complexity to delight my tastebuds. Isn't "winning your loyalty" an interesting concept. When I stroll through Chatswood next I would find myself hard pressed to try another coffee place, and there are many... If I did try another coffee place, I'd feel like I was cheating on TSE. That's what winning your loyalty is all about.

With Mr Hangrypants distracted by a sneaker store down the way, I lined up alone to get a table as there was a bit of a queue. "Table for two?" I was asked almost immediately. Crikey, she must have seen us coming a mile away. Bill arrived as I was being shown to our table and we were efficiently given menus and then not forgotten about despite the place being jammed. We ordered food and coffee and the drinks arrived almost immediately, again, as I already mentioned, despite the place being jammed. A little while later our food arrived piping hot, again, and I can not be more emphatic about this, DESPITE THE PLACE BEING JAMMED! This sort of efficient service just doesn't happen in suburban Sydney. The coffee at The Missing Piece is great. The food is top quality. We had Big Breakfasts or "The Complete Picture", in keeping with the theme. Standard price at $18. I was thoroughly impressed all round with my experience and will be back. The only downer is that the OJ is really some kind of Orange Fruit Drink and I did come here one time early on in the piece and they served my tea with milk in a syringe on the side. I hope they have stopped that off putting little nod to modern cafe hipsterism. Other than that, all good in the hood (if North Ryde could indeed be described as a hood...)
