The Chinese restaurant next to the supermarket has changed ownership so often for the last two decades. I'm not even going to try and figure out what its current name is. I came to this store recently to get a few groceries my way home. The produce section looked fresh. It was bright and clean. It looked different and pleasing to the eye. It is definitely an improvement since I was last here. M&M's candies were on sale. My latest flavour addition is the hazelnut spread. I also got Harvest Snaps that are highly addictive. I lined up at the express checkout. The woman was friendly. I paid with a debit card and it went smoothly. I also used my PC Optimum card. Sadly, getting points for my candy with a pre-loaded offer didn't happen. Luckily, reporting missing points is such a breeze with the app that I was credited for my missing points within the hour. It was after midnight! There is loads of parking in front of the supermarket. I got a fairly close spot. I like this store better than the one that is closest to my home. I should stop by this location more often. (62)

Now Rob's No Frills…read more One of the worse No Frills. They never have stock of things on sale, even on the first day of the sale. They are poor at restocking inventory. If you go in the evening you are faced with a lot of empty bins. No cart return. You have to walk back to the store to return your cart. This is very inconvenient.

I've worked in her line before but Good Lord she takes uneducated and crap service to a whole other level. Just to start off, I was going in to get some ultrasounds done as I was having some issues with my ovaries. She called me on Friday July 22nd when I was at work to (for what I assume) confirm my appointment. I missed the call but did not bother calling back when I got off work at 6 since a) they were closed and b) I had already confirmed with them I would be there when I made the appointment (and would call 24 hours prior to cancel) on the same week Monday July 17th. Today, which is when my appointment was, I arrived 4 (yes, you read it right.. FOUR) minutes late to the appointment and this lady lost her freaking mind. She called me at 3:02 (my appointment was at 3) but I dropped the call as I was parking. I ran inside and beside she even took my requisition she berated me for "purposely ignoring her calls" and "not having voice mail". When I told her I was at work the first time she asked me why I didn't take her second call. When I told her I was driving/parking at THEIR CLINIC at the time she insinuated I should have taken the call regardless of whether I was driving. So fine, I apologize because we're even more late because of her bs and she takes down the requisition info, then tells me to sit in the waiting room and "not to go anywhere anymore" (lol what? I didn't go anywhere in the first place). Because of her, I had an anxiety attack when I was getting my ultrasounds done and the radiologist couldn't understand why I was so frantic and twitchy/shaking, and kept reassuring me that we were almost done because she thought I was in a rush to go somewhere(the reason the review has any stars at all is because of the kind radiologist, who was so gentle and calm despite the atmosphere I was giving off). When we finished, I opened the door to return to the main office and I didn't know the door swung shut on its own so when I walked through, it slammed shut. The lab receptionist just remarked "wow" because she thought I did it on purpose while the imaging receptionist I was talking to just shook her head over and over again until she was sure I saw it. I still needed to speak to the receptionist about forwarding the results to my family doctor so I waited at her desk while she finished whatever she was doing. When I told her about sending the results to a second doctor, she berated me again for not having the doctor write "cc" on it even though the doctor who wrote the req said to just mention it verbally (and given I was once a medical assistant I know that this is just a formality... So she's giving me a hard time just because she could). Overall, the imaging receptionist has absolutely no regards for anyone's safety and uses the patients as an outlet for her frustrations. Ew.

My first Quiznos experience was in Rochester, MN. It had recently opened and a friend of mine took…read moreme there for a toasted sub. It was the greatest thing since, er, sliced bread. I became a fan. At that point, few sub chains toasted their bread. Scrubway (Jennifer P. needs to copyright it, as I use it all the time now) didn't do it. Neither did Mr Sub. When I moved back to the GTA, there were a few Quiznos stores nearby. One was where my local Scrubway is, roughly five minutes away. The other one was closer to my workplace at the time, at McCowan and Sheppard Avenue East in Scarborough. Both are long gone. Frankly, the only Quiznos that I dropped by recently was on Bay Street, a few blocks away from Scotiabank Arena. I'd go there for a quick bite before a concert. The other evening, I was driving from Canadian Tire to Song Tea along Woodbine Avenue. My head turned when I saw the Quiznos sign to my left. Where have I been and why hadn't I ever noticed this sign? I kept thinking about it. I decided to fetch dinner here last Saturday. After getting my bubble tea, I drove over to this eatery. This Quiznos is in a plaza, a couple of doors down from Mi Ne Sushi, a place that I frequented perhaps eight years ago or so. I found a parking spot halfway down the row of parked cars and backed into it. I walked in and got a woman who said hi. She was busy preparing an order. I saw her fill a container with soup. You can dine in. However, tables and seating are limited. Once she was finished with that order, she focused solely on me. My usual subs are the black angus steak and mesquite chicken. I deviated from both when I saw the beef and swiss melt. I got a foot-long on rosemary parmesan bread. She asked me whether I was good with mushrooms. Yes, said the mushroom freak. Oh, how I have missed being at a Quiznos. I like seeing my sandwich go through the toasting conveyor and come out looking all yummy. I paid with a credit card. This place only accepts credit and debit cards. She wrapped up my sub and handed it over in a bag. I thanked her and left happy with sub in hand. My car smelled so good as I drove home. The only reason I didn't devour my sub was because it was in the backseat and I couldn't reach it while driving. It's a good strategy if you don't have any willpower. I had my sub when I got home. I devoured the whole thing. I normally do an 8" sub, but I was hungry. I'm so glad I went big. The sub looked narrower than I recall. Then again, I have had Jersey Mike's Subs these days that they look gigantic compared to any sub out there. I loved the beef and swiss melt. The beef was tender, juicy, and yummy. The swiss cheese was the perfect amount and was melty delicious. The mushrooms were yummy although this mushroom fanatic would have enjoyed more of them. The bread was excellent toasted. Yum all around! I'm so glad that I found this Quiznos. I was the only customer in the store and I suspect that it does quiet business with all restaurants around it. I'd definitely come back here to get my toasted sub fix. (83)
