a bowl of soup and a spoon - A transparent plastic container filled with soup, containing visible ingredients like green onions and possibly meat or vegetables, is placed on a piece of brown paper towel on a dark wooden table. A metal spoon rests on top of the container. The background includes a couch with pillows and a yellow plastic bag, indicating a casual, home-like environment.

Absolute worst experience starts to finish CROOKS. NO explanation AT ALL AS to what size of dish you are ordering. They charge ridiculous prices for appetizer size ordinary food and don't mention at all that they're charging you $50.00 for 3 small apps and a watery wonton soup the size of a small coffee. After complaining, the absolute disrespect in what was relayed to us -WE SHOULD KNOW WHAT WE ARW ORDERING. APPALLING. DON'T EAT HERE. EVER. We didn't even get an itemized receipt.

Combo #5 - General Tso Chicken & plain fried rice (no broccoli). HUGE portions, made hot and fresh, definitely enough for 2 people - $9.50!

Still a solid 4 stars, great for what it is! My 'go-to' local delivery joint for Canadianized Chinese food is still solid and reliably good. GTK's prices are at the lower end for this area, portions are great, and quality is very good, on many dishes! Ignore the whiners below, they are either dishonest competitors, or mistaken, as everything is freshly made and delivered hot. I have ordered scores of times, and have tried every place that will deliver here to my Yonge-Sheppard condo, and there are only a couple of places that are up to the same quality, but they all cost 50% more, or literally double the price, for no better food. NOTE that, like ALL Chinese joints, they do some dishes better than others, so you need to pay attention to the specific dish recommendations of the fans. (Don't be that person who is taken to Swiss Chalet, orders the pasta, then complains, lol.) Best bets: - Lemon Chicken - huge yummy portion - Sweet & Sour Shrimp or Chicken balls - yes it's that crazy neon sauce, but with better than usual batter AND sauce - Fried noodles with bean sprouts - Egg Rolls - the classic bean sprout style of my T.O. youth, with a hint of 5-spice :) - Hot & Sour Soup - 500ml only $3.95! - I like the General Tso, Spicy Eggplant and the Crispy Ginger Beef, choose only one, since they all have (similar?) intensely sweet & zesty sauces :) - General Tso Chicken Combo #5 - Huge container of deliciousness (I order it without the broccoli, which is not blanched before its sauteed, so not ideal) BUT the chicken is intensely flavoured, zesty and sweet, and personally, I LOVE their simple, old-school fried rice. NOTE: to the reviewer, below, if you are looking for "somewhat healthy and fresh" don't order fried chicken, in a sweet sauce, with fried rice, and then whine, lol! I've never eaten IN, it's just a tiny chinese delivery joint, but the service has always been great, the delivery shockingly quick, and food arrives piping hot, despite the trip from north of Steeles down Yonge St. to Sheppard. 10 years later, I remain a fan, GTK is still as good as anyplace nearby, with much more reasonable prices than most. Try It :)

General Tso's Chicken and Fried Rice

We got the General Tso chicken with fried rice here. The place is old and dated, and definitely focused on take-out and delivery orders. The food itself... well... here are the pros: the portions are huge. Unfortunately, that's where it ends of me. The food was waaaay too fried and the chicken was tough. There's really not much else to say about this place. If you're in the mood for greasy Chinese food, then this is definitely the place for you. If you want a meal that's somewhat healthy and fresh, then look somewhere else.

The "Chinese Food" you've been looking for.

Really good food; really good portion sizes. Nothing to complain about to be honest. Best priced food in the area I think.

Healthy Alternative - Swiss Chard Stuffed Chicken

Healthy Alternative is truly the best healthy alternative food delivery option we've found so far…read more(especially for their vegan options) that is both reasonable price-wise and tastes amazing (without a lot of the unsavoury additives you'll find...ahem...corn syrup). We've tried LiveFit, Yumba, WeCook...I can't believe I actually WANT to order their salads - they're that good. I've also ordered the meat options and they were great too. The only reason why I've given them 4 stars is because I wish their ordering system was more clearly explained and user friendly on the website, because I had to call/email them a couple times to figure out how to do it. Just a heads up, it's a food subscription, they offer a first time delivery discount code, call them and ask for it. You order a plan through the website then they email you the weekly menu options. They also offer some wiggle room in the delivery dates, which is awesome. Also, free delivery, yay!! I also wish they offered more non-soy vegan options, but still love that they offer delicious vegan options. As a side note, I've really loved their salad dressings & sauces so far (particular YUM to their tzatziki or aioli sauces). Definitely worth a try if you're trying to find a delicious and healthy option!

It must have been "food fate", because I'm extremely happy that I made the change. What I like most about Healthy Alternative: --Tasty fresh food with different menu selections per delivery (I especially love their breakfast dishes) --Portion-controlled to fit my diet --Customized for special requests (i.e. No asparagus for me, please!) --Delivered right to my door twice a week --Fairly priced If and when I've had any concerns, Healthy Alternative has always been quick to respond and rectify the issue. Now that's what I call customer service! I look forward to continuing my service with HA for a long time to come. Thank you! :)

I attended a Yelp experience last month that featured Lasagna 2 Go. I had a great experience that…read moreI've been back for more. Lasagna 2 Go is located in a small mall near York University. Both visits, I dropped by after work. The mall has a parking lot. It does get a bit busy at night. I backed into a spot and took the entrance on the left to head inside. There was a huge banner that led me to this food stall. You can't miss it. This place goes get busy at dinnertime. Both times, staff were pleasant and nice. York University students and non-students alike drop by for some good, cheap eats in this mall, so it makes sense why this place is so popular. There is a special for students. Between 11 am and 1 pm, they can get the son's size lasagna for $5. It's such a steal that I almost want to be a student again for this deal only... haha! You can choose between beef or vegetable lasagna. I have now had both. It takes approximately six minutes to heat up a small (son's) size of lasagna. The medium size is the dad. You can get a double of each size, depending on your hunger pangs. I don't mind waiting for yumminess. Staff were cool to come around the counter both times to hand me my food. It was such a nice touch. During my first experience, I had ordered a caesar salad. I noticed while heading to my car that I didn't have it, so I walked back. The male staffer immediately knew and was extremely apologetic. Craziness does that to all of us. I paid with a credit card both times. It allows tapping. Paying with mine was smooth. The son's size of lasagna is generous for one person to devour. I brought my lasagna home both times. It was still warm in my insulated bag. This place does four-layer lasagna. I liked that it had the perfect amount of cheese, which made it not terribly rich. It had sliced mushrooms in it. Yes! It pleased this mushroom fan. The difference between the meat and vegetarian lasagna versions was the sauce. The meat sauce in the former was excellent. It tasted homemade. My side salad was decent. I got croutons, parmesan cheese, and Italian dressing in separate small containers. The lettuce was romaine, which made my day because it was fresh and crisp. It made me happy, Getting grab-and-go lasagna is a brilliant concept. I love the lasagna here that's made with love and care. It's yummy. This place is the perfect stop to grab takeout lasagna while heading home from the office. (38)

After trying out Chefs Plate, I was greatly disappointed by their overall quality of ingredients…read moreand taste wise it wasn't for me. Eat Prepd reached out to me and asked me to give them a try. After reading details on their website, I ordered 3 meals for 2 people which came out to $36.00 with 40% off discount code. I ordered the following: * BBQ Turkey Bacon Burger * Kale-Corn Grilled Cheese * Heat and Eat Curry Chicken Pot Pie The meal kit arrived as per the email, I received a phone call informing me of the delivery and an email confirming it has been delivered. All the ingredients were well packaged and there were ice packs for the meat products. I received a handwritten card from them as well, which was really nice of them. The recipes were very easy to follow and instructions were clear. The ingredients were labeled accordingly and it made it easy to cook dinner without confusion. Overall, my favourite meal was the Kale-Corn Grilled Cheese - I would personally try to recreate this as I found this full of flavour and delicious. I especially enjoyed the Dijon mustard and combination of garlic with kale and cheese. The BBQ Turkey Bacon Burger was tasty as well, this has encouraged me to make my own burgers; this recipe highlighted how easy it really is. The Heat and Eat meal is great if you're tired after a long day of work, all you have to do is put it in the oven. I would definitely try out Eat Prepd again and recommend to my friends & family. It was a fun experience and great way to try new recipes without having to purchase the full size of each ingredient. If you're looking for a break from your usual meals, try Eat Prepd and get inspired to eat healthy and delicious meals without the hassle of going to the grocery store.

They create 6 great recipes each week, then deliver these recipes with all the fresh, pre-portioned ingredients you need to cook those recipes, right to your door. Home-cooking has never been easier. Each recipe is pre-tested in the kitchen for deliciousness and is a wholesome and balanced meal. Prepd makes an effort to support local farms and vendors so that your ingredients are as fresh as can be. You can also choose between omnivore meals or vegetarian meals and each meal takes about 35 minutes or less to cook. The head chef at Eat Prepd has been a certified chef for over 20 years and is also a holistic nutritionist and food developer so you can count on the recipes to be balanced and nutritious. At $10 per plate, it is only $60 per week for three meals for two people. You have the option of ordering for one, two or four people. Note, orders for one person are $40 for three meals. You may skip week's if need be. Delivery is free and the delivery area is: 427 in the west, Steeles in the north, Victoria Park in the east and the lake in the south. Delivery usually takes place on a Sunday which is very ideal for me so that I can prepare meals for the week. The meals are delivered in a big cardboard box and each meal is pre-portioned out into plastic bags. It was easy to store the bags in the fridge but I would have preferred brown bags. The recipes varied a lot and I ended up cooking a Greek Chicken Salad, Pesto Shrimp Linguine and Roasted Cauliflower Tacos. Each meal was very easy to prepare and the results were definitely praise-worthy. The Shrimp Pasta was the highlight for me as the flavour was impeccable and it took only 25 minutes or so to cook. It's a meal that I would make again, and thanks to Prepd, I now know how to make it and can buy all of the ingredients next time to impress my guests. I would definitely use Prepd again because the pricing is very affordable at only $10 per plate. The meals options are always quite interesting so that you always have a chance to experiment with new ingredients you may have never used before.
