HOw is it possible every where I went in Ireland (with few exceptions) was like walking into my regular bar back home. We sat at the bar, ordered food, and chatted with the bar staff. They have an awesome list of drafts and bottles. The food menu isn't huge, but my god it doesn't need to be. I got the chicken fingers. They were right out of a dream. The chips? Perfectly crispy. They brought 2 different aioli type sauces to chose from. I loved them both. I couldn't stop raving about the chicken fingers. My husband laughed... UNTIL HE TRIED THEM. Holy hell they were the best fried chicken fingers I've ever had. Perfectly salty. Perfectly crispy. Perfectly, nah, expertly seasoned. The bar staff was INCREDIBLY helpful. They offered drink suggestions, they let us try different whiskys, the owner offered his suggestion for whisky and he was spot on. It was everything I've always wanted but didn't know I did. They gave us candys when we closed our tab, offered suggestions and opinions on places to go and things to see. This may have been my favorite place of our dublin visit. The bar had candelabras everywhere. It was candle lit with a few other lights. It felt warm and inviting. The people were warm and inviting. The music was right up our alley. I could have melted into this place like the candles on the candelabras. read more

While I was having drinks with my friends here a few weeks ago, we witnessed one of the staff members being shouted at behind the bar by what I'm guessing was a manager. This was really upsetting to see and ruined our experience. I can't believe such a well known bar would treat their employees in such a horrible manner. My favourite pub in Dublin. I love the atmosphere and the wide selection they have. It can be quite busy which is a pro and a con in itself. When its packed, its very hard to navigate as the area its in, is quite small. Staff are very friendly and will suggest you a drink that suits you. They also have some board games! The only thing I would change about this place is the size as it can get too packed! read more

I love craft beer and I love craft beer pubs, the biggest problem however is that you can never meet girls in a craft beer bar because all they sell is craft beer. P Mac's more than satisfies my thirst for craft beer. P Mac's more than satisfies in having a near 50/50 gender split. It's a great crowd not too young nor too old. They play a great playlist of tracks, lots of alternative and nineties tunes. A full bar with regular stuff as well as craft, you can get a west coast cool as well as a 5am Saint. They have lots of seating both at the bar and tables, however, We like to take one of the many snugs that have a vague confessional feel to them. You can get Pizza's for 7 notes, you get free corn snacks and a full bar with knowledgeable bar staff that can recommend you a beer or leave you to your own devices. They play better music than any other bar in the city, and have a serious sound system where you can hear the music but also hear yourself think, or indeed your conversation. Big fan of P Macs. Great to see somewhere different in Dublin. Full of the cool crowd and hipsters galore but I think it would really appeal to anyone. For a bar the food is surprisingly good - I really wasn't expecting that and the staff are really friendly. Great range of craft beers and regular beers including some of my favourite Asian beers. There's no real reason to dislike P.Mac's. The staff are sound and great, the food is delicious and they do deals on pizza&pints, they have a great selection of craft beer, its chilled and cool. Once a friend and I ordered a pizza and two pints and we got the pizza free just because it was cut all weird. The staff are cool like that. It's a little bit old fashioned, and a little bit hipster, and it's great. It's a little dark inside, which might be my only complaint, and it gets crazy busy most late-week or weekend nights. Often one of the first places I think of when hosting friends from out of Dublin. Anyone who's a fan of Galway Bay Brewery bars or Cassidy's will love P.Macs. I don't want to spend all of my time reviewing Dublin pubs on Yelp, so I am focusing my efforts on the ones worth noting. We never got into P. Mac's early enough for food, but we were able to experience the drinking here. It's definitely popular, as when we came in on a Monday night all the tables were full. I assume being near the holidays and Trinity College have something to do with that. Luckily for us there were two spots at the bar to secure us for the night. Bartenders were awesome. Both knew their stuff, were able to make recommendations, and were just flat out friendly. My wife even got a free sample of something to see if she liked it before continuing with a full glass (she didn't and didn't, but it's nice that they did that for us). Definitely a good spot for meeting with friends and just hanging out. Lively without being rowdy, great music playing. A perfect introduction to pub life in Dublin. read more

At 5.30€ a pint, its on the steeper side of drinks in Dublin and especially considering all the other cheap alternatives nearby. We stopped at this place around 1 in the afternoon for lunch. Walking in, there was no hostess so we asked the bartender if we just seat ourselves. The place is quite dark but lit up with candles at each table. We pick a seat and grab our own menus. The bartender/waitress is very helpful in picking out which beers we want, also lets us sample. We ordered the habanero wings, the bigger & corn flake chicken sandwich. All of were very yummy! Overall, loves this place and the atmosphere. Small lunch menu but definitely enjoyed the options!! read more

Loved this dark quirky Bar/Restaurant. Lite by Candelabra w/ red candles, on what looked like antique dinning tables. Very dark inside so very hard to tell for sure. I order wine and my daughter ordered beer. Ordering wine in a bar is not always good but I can't complain about the red wine that was recommend to me. My daughter lives in Dublin and had been trying to get me into P Macs for a while. Every time we tried the place was packed. Well my last visit to Dublin we were able to stop in for food and drinks 3 times. The food it was excellent. GREAT Beer selection. I'm constantly thinking of their avocado toast, fries ( or Chips), sticky (something) chicken wings, etc... can't wait for my next trip back to Dublin. This will be my first stop. read more

So I guess it's not pmac's fault that as soon as a new bar opens in Dublin everyone flocks there in their droves completely overcrowding it but they could maybe stop letting people in at a certain point or perhaps have more bar staff on? I spent a very uncomfortable 4 hours here on a Saturday night feeling hot and claustrophobic because there were far too many people in it. The layout is all over the place making it extremely difficult to visit the bar or the bathroom. Once you finally make it to the bar you're left waiting for ages for service and if you're a craft pub you need menus!!! My friend asked if they had cherry beer and the bar person sort of looked around and then said no. Maybe I'll go back when the hype dies down. read more

It's so dark in here so it's like partying with yourself! I could see the fizzy colas behind the bar and boom scored myself one. The games etc to me are a bit stupid but each to their own. If they made the tables a bit tidier and put a few more lights in, I'd be a big fan, wouldn't walk out either though! read more

My wife and i ate here and the food was very good i had a burger and she had the haloumi sandwhich both were very good and everything is big portions so u wont leave hungry and we also had a tomato soup with pumpkin bread and butter and it was very good aswell. Good service good Guinness beer and not very taxing on the billfold so all in all it was a great place for lunch. Im a big giy so eating is a big part of my life and normally takes a lot of fill me up and they did a great job. read more

I enjoy P.Macs, their craft beer selection and the hipster feel. I ordered a burger and fries which was very good but very rare. The burger was so big i was not sure how to manage it with the pile of caramelized onions and lettuce on top of a massive beef burger topped with a pickle. The thin cut chips were a nice side. I like that they had a mix of different craft beers along with the average pub drinks on draft whereas other craft beer places ONLY do craft beer which can be hard if you are picky with you beers. I knocked off a star because it is very dark in there and it was hard to find a place to sit at first. It does not feel like a standing bar but when I did find a seat I enjoy the little corners around the pub that create a sense of privacy with your friends or partner. read more

First night in Dublin and we went for the not exactly traditional pub, but a damn good one. We loved our food and the wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Felt like a blend of a hip American gastropub food with cozy Irish pub feel and atmosphere. Lots of locals here and a good beer selection. This is hands down one of the coolest places I've been to. The beer selection is fantastic, they even have a few less than popular American brews on tap. A bit hard to find, especially since the name above the door is obscured by greenery. Had the best variety and number of draft beers in Dublin of the bars I visited. Went and one night after 10pm thinking we could get food. We could not but they gave us some crisps while we had a few drinks. Staff was amazing. Variety of beers awesome. We went back the next day for lunch. I got the burger and fries, my group got wings and the Ruben. Again the staff was amazing and the food was great but in really large portions!
