Paola did a pretty good job in matching the visuals I wanted for the cake - a graduation cake. I would give her 4/5 for that. Her communication and friendliness gets 5/5. But the taste of the cake.... wasn't good. That gets 1/5. I don't know if it was just me or if she had a lot of orders but my cake's taste (Very standard vanilla cake with vanilla frosting) was pretty bad. No one in our group of 10 ate much of the cake after the 1st bite, and because it was a family affair, people felt pretty comfortable in saying it tasted really bad. We had a whole conversation about it during dessert. I know I personally cannot order from her again. Wow, I have nothing but great things to say about Paola's cakes! My family and I hosted a graduation party for my sister completing her Ph.D. and we wanted to get a custom cake. After some research, I found Paola and her cakes looked BEAUTIFUL! I contacted Paola about two weeks before my event and was excited to hear that she was available. I wasn't sure of the exact design I wanted, but I wanted a cross between a science themed and graduation themed cake and Paola was confident she could make that happen. Paola is really quick to respond to emails, calls and texts and was really patient and informative in answering any question I had. Payment was quick and easy, I was able to Venmo her directly (50% before to book the cake, and the other 50% when I received the cake). She was flexible and offered to deliver the cake to my event for a per mile fee which made my life a LOT easier. When the cake arrived it was AMAZING! It incorporated science and graduation while still being an elegant design. 5 STARS! I definitely recommend Paola! I hope to get more custom cakes from her in the future! read more

Paola makes awesome cakes! She has made two cakes for me and did a fabulous job. Both were complicated and intricate and she nailed them (one was a patriotic theme and one was a Harley Davidson theme for a friend's 50th birthday). Each time I have gone to place an order Paola has asked for ideas about what I would like and gets details about what kind of cake and icing combinations I prefer. She finds out how many people the cake will need to serve and quotes a reasonable price based on my order. She has the cakes ready on time and always takes great care to package them up for me so they survive the trip home. Paola is absolutely amazing! She is such a great person to work with and her cakes are incredible!! Both in taste and design! I will try not to write a novel on here, but I just can't be thankful enough about how helpful and amazing Paola was to us!! My husband and I got married last month and had to find someone to do our wedding cake/cupcakes last minute, due to our original plan falling through. We found Paola's page online and contacted her. She was super fast to respond and was immediately asking questions so that she could cater to our needs. Paola is AMAZING! I was looking for a cakery for my child's 1st birthday. After getting incredibly rude customer service on the phone from Victoria's Cakery, I decided to start looking around the Fairfax area for other possibilities. Paola was so responsive and professional, and her prices were on par with Whole Foods Bakery (which I considered very reasonable considering she makes INCREDIBLE custom cakes). Her Facebook page is filled with photos of her designs, but she is also very willing to work with you to see your vision become a reality. I literally sent her a photo of the decorations I bought for the party, and within a few hours she sent me photos of several possibilities. I chose one I liked and decide on batter, icing, fillings, etc.... I was a little worried that there was no way the cake could look as wonderful as the sample photo she sent--I was SO wrong. To say it was a work of art is not an overstatement. Literally, every guest commented on how incredible the cake looked and many immediately asked for Paola's contact information (which I gladly sent along).
