Despite confirming ahead of time that I was covered as a Curative cash‑pay patient, I was told in the exam room that I "did not have insurance" and was questioned about payment. This immediately set an uncomfortable and unprofessional tone. The exam that followed was minimal. Dr. Bush performed a quick ultrasound on one vein in each leg and immediately dismissed my CVI diagnosis. No full ultrasound was offered, and none of my symptoms or the extensive steps I've taken to manage them were discussed. My concerns were redirected to an old spinal surgery, even though my neurologist has already ruled out spinal causes. When I explained that gabapentin didn't help, I was met with, "It made you feel better, didn't it?" -- not a meaningful clinical conversation. The only advice I received was that I "might feel better" if I lost weight, despite having already lost 80 lbs. I left feeling unheard and reduced to a number on a scale. Major symptoms that affect my daily life -- discoloration, numbness, swelling, throbbing, difficulty sitting, and constant pain -- were never explored. After driving nearly two hours each way to see a specialist known for thorough evaluations, I left without answers, without a plan, and without feeling respected as a patient.
