We had an appointment today at the Stuart dermatologist and it was a very pleasant experience. Very nice new building and all the comforts. The staff was nice and efficient. Not thorough with skin cancer checks. Some of the nurses are rude, dismissive and just blurt inaccurate information. They don't sign scripts that allow substitutions and it's a nightmare to try and get it sorted out. When you do get someone on the phone, they just hang up when they are finished talking. No goodbye. No, do you have any questions or concerns? Just click, and you're left talking to yourself. This place leaves you feeling disregarded. Prepare yourself and consider yourself warned. I told her nurse I had a budget and exactly what I wanted. *Together they discussed in another room without me. Nurse came back told me * I needed to receive $1200 worth of treatment!! with an *attitude that this is all or nothing plus *lose your appt deposit if you leave. Please do something about NP Tanya. I told her the Dupixent shots were making me sick, and she said, "That can't be, Dupixent doesn't do that." Felt like she was pushing those injections instead of listening and validating me. Talked over me, rude, and I felt worse after I left than when I went in. I will never go back. I went to another dermatologist, and they listened to me, looked at my pictures, even asked me to email it to him, and acknowledge that I had an issue. Most recently I saw Shawna, the aesthetician , earlier this week for a chemical peel. She's a wonderful and knowledgeable aesthetician and knows her skin care. Would absolutely never go back. I had a cyst on my upper arm the size of a marble (for size comparison) and the scar I now have after the surgery is a few inches long. One week after my surgery, a black hole started to form. I could see the inside of my arm. I called and asked to speak to Dr. Giachino, the doctor who performed the surgery, but he wouldn't see me. They brought in a nurse practitioner who told me to wash it with special soap and keep a bandaid on it. Another week later, it was getting worse. The hole was even bigger and it wouldn't stop oozing with puss and blood. The doctor still wouldn't see me. Water's Edge had me email a picture of my arm just to tell me to keep using the ointment and soap. The hole healed 3 weeks later and now I have a permanent and unnecessarily long scar on my arm forever. They provided poor care to me post-surgery and I believe Dr. Giachino wouldn't see me because he knew he had messed up my arm so badly. All I know is that no hole should form in your arm after you get a surgery. Something was very messed up here and Water's Edge never once apologized to me. read more

I went in with an infected ingrown hair which I have had many times so I know how they are and I went to this place because I am from Michigan and out of town down here in Florida. When the doctor, Tanya Sperber, first walked in she laughed that I wanted my husband to come in and be with me, meanwhile in the past I have had to receive steroid shots to get rid of the infection, so as you can assume, I was quite nervous and uncomfortable which is why I wanted him to be with me. She then proceeded to tell me my lymph node was just swollen and wanted to send me to get an ultrasound. I had assured her plenty of times that was not the case and I have had this happen before. She told me "well you are here to receive my opinion and that's what it is." I am highly irritated with how I was treated here, being a faulty diagnosis and how rude Tanya Sperber was and recommend no one to this place. read more

I had a squamous cell carcinoma on my face. I was scheduled to have Mohs surgery to remove it. I had it done and am home with my bandage and sutures now. My issue is I should have had an actual doctor (MD) do the procedure. I saw a doctor, supposedly one of the guys that founded Waters Edge and he made the first cut and after that I never saw him again. They also do not use an actual pathologist, instead they use a doctor certified in pathology. This does not make you a pathologist. Beware people. This seems to be nothing more than a money making machine. The quality of medical care has gone to the toilet. I am scheduled to go back to have the sutures removed and am not certain I am ever going to go there again. read more

Made a second appointment there, i called and asked if I rescheduled would there be a cancellation fee, told them I would call back and let them know if I was going to reschedule. Started going here when we first arrived to the area. We saw Dr. Shaunessy and she seemed good at first. Now 3 years later, my husband and my daughter went to see her, both came home saying the yearly mole check was a joke, barely looked, didn't use any eye piece to look closely and she made comments to my 25 year old daughter to suggest she takes care of her skin poorly which never has been brought up in the past by her or any other dermatologist we've seen. I tried to see her for my mole check earlier in the year and she was busy so I saw another doctor, who basically charged me $175 to look at my arms and say, "All looks good." She checked out my moles, which had never been done before. She took care of my needs, and instead of just treating them, gave preventive advice for future issues. She also took the time to address any concerns I'm having with hormonal acne, and helped with that as well. She seems very compassionate and amazingly knowledgeable. In Florida, helping my dad tend to some medical issues and I am completely reliant on reviews on the internet. I was very impressed with the care and treatment that my dad received. He has used Water's Edge in the past but this was my first time experiencing their care. He went into have a few spots on his face looked at and one of the biopsies showed squamous cell carcinoma. We opted for the one and done surgery in the office for removal. On the day of surgery, Dr. Shaughnessy went over the procedure with us and mentioned some concerns she had with the fact that my dad is 92 and on blood thinners. She was extremely helpful and allowed us to make an educated decision on the best method of care. Since she was not overly concerned with the biopsy outcome, we opted for the scraping/burning method and everything went well. Apparently, this practice thinks it's OK to "guess" at your co-pay, rather than look it up, and if you don't check your carrier's website and your EOB (Explanation of Benefits), they win. My son, 19, paid a $109 co-pay that I did not question, as my deductible had just changed. The 'patient responsibility' was actually $21.35. I called, but they wouldn't talk to me, he's 19. He called, and was told "we routinely overcharge and predict the deductible, but if you call (IF!!!), we will gladly refund the difference." I now get to wait another 3 weeks for MY MONEY!!!!
