I come to McKay Dermatology for an annual skin check. As a lifelong Floridian, it's so important to get checked for any irregularities and McKay has made that process relatively easy for me. The office is easy to find and has a very easy parking lot. The office is clean and check in is simple. I've never had an issue calling to make appointments or for follow up. The waiting room does feel like a bunch of mostly cosmetic offerings and I don't really love that. Are they pushing to make money off services you may or may not need or are they focused on your health truly? The staff have all been kind and I've felt comfortable in the vulnerable position of having your entire body looked at. They take photos for your file of any spots or moles to keep an eye on and I like this. I have been accidentally double billed for a service, but calling to resolve was quick as I had already paid. I will probably continue coming here because it's easy, they have my history, and I won't get caught up in any of their superfluous money making services, but its a middle of the road opinion of them for me. read more

Late October I had my first appointment with this practice for an annual exam by the PA who said everything was fine. In mid-December I noticed two bumps on my scalp. Something told me to go see my prior dermatologist in Deerfield Beach and he identified them as Basel cell carcinoma which required Mohs surgery. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this practice and will not return. read more

I'd used Dr. Elizabeth McKay for years. Five to be exact. I left her for another dermatologist, Dr. Yvonne Romagosa in Stuart, back in 2018, because I got tired of her mistakes. She misdiagnosed three conditions that Dr. Romagosa found and corrected. ALL THREE WERE CANCER. Even my new doctor was surprised about all the missed, easily recognized lesions. Dr. McKay made mistakes by saying a Porokeratosis (a precancerous growth) on my arm was a Granuloma Anulare,; she completely missed a leg (thigh) lesion--instead calling it "nothing" for over four years--while it got worse and even started bleeding (that's when I found a new doctor, and it was correctly diagnosed by my new dermatologist). I turned out to be Squamous Cell Carcinoma and I had to undergo a few treatments to resolve the cancer, because the incision to remove it was so deep from years of Dr. McKay's failure to diagnosis correctly. She even missed a melanoma that had been there for years. read more

Let me start by saying I have never met a more caring and loving doctor as Dr. McKay. Her assistant found that I had Squamous Cell Carcinoma on my ear. Needless to say I was terrified! Today I went to have it removed. Dr. McKay came in and explained from beginning to end what she was going to do. I've never had any doctor explain step by step the process. When her assistant was preping me for surgery Dr. McKay held my hand and told me I was in good hands and I didn't need to worry. I literally felt nothing! From the numbing needles to the surgery I felt nothing. When she was finished she actually called the plastic surgeon to ask him to please squeeze me in today so I can get this over with. To say she is amazing is not a big enough word! I highly recommend her and her staff for any dermatological things you made need. Especially Mohs surgery! REVIEW MICHELLE I had to change insurance this year and had to find a new dermatologist which brought me to McKay dermatology. Things started off great. When I called to make the appointment, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. She scheduled me with the NP Michelle. I have been getting skin checks for the past 19 years I've lived here in Florida, so I know exactly what to expect. Unfortunately, this is the most incompetent skin check I've ever had. I might as well have not even had the appointment and saved my time and co pay . Michelle was very unfriendly, arrogant, incompetent, and just unpleasant. She walked in the room with an attitude. She barely even looked at me. Never bothered to look at my head, my fingers, my toes. She never even asked me about my current medication's that every other dermatologist addressed. And I'm talking about the prescriptions and diagnosis from my past dermatologist. The woman barely even acknowledged me being there. Furthermore, she spoke down to me, as if I was beneath her. Terrible exam, (Lack of), my questions were not answered, overall a horrible visit. Do not recommend and will not return. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. McKay for over 10 years. She is an excellent physician and a caring provider. In fact, when I lived in Los Angeles for 10 years, I would return to see her for my skin care rather than see a provider in LA. Not only is she incredibly skilled at what she does, she is compassionate and caring which is truly hard to find in medical care these days. I took my mom (83 years young) and myself for a body checkup which was our second time. The first visit they found a basal cell on my mom's cheek which they removed and 8 months later you can hardly tell. The scar is so faint and well done. This visit was great clean for both. Mom has a lot of what looks like moles I ask what they were and Michele explained them to me and also informed me that they are heredity SK's. As she was examining me she told me I had a few so I ask her freeze them off for me. The whole office is very kind respectful answering and explaining every question asked. The PA Michelle is very sweet and gentle and thorough with her exams. I would highly recommend this office to anyone needing a dermatologist. Next I am going to check out the spa. read more

Horrible medical care. My mother had a leg wound that wouldn't heal. When we went to McKay Dermatology for a culture suggested by her GP she had bad reaction to the drug. Our phone calls were not returned, nor would anyone come out to speak to us when I went to the office. The only positive is their is a pleasant receptionist. Jaime Harvey at McKay Dermatology & MedSpa is the best at fillers! I've had Botox and Dysport before and seen a handful of people, but by far, Jaime has the magic touch. She clearly knows what she's doing. In the past, I've had people inject too low on my brow, or too close to a muscle, and basically my face was frozen in an odd way for months. Ugh. Not fun. Do your homework if you're going to have something like this done. I also recently had Jaime inject Juvederm, and again, she did an amazing job! Thank goodness, because these results last for two years. Bottom line, do your homework and pick the right person to place theses types of important injections. I promise, you'll be thankful you did. (Side note: I don't really live near this office, but I don't mind the drive if I know I'm getting this type of care.) read more
