Delicious meats, Lamb burger is amazing. A place we frequent often for meats and Greek foods.

Was looking for some good food options after my workout and noticed this place. Decided to come give it a try. Parking is a bit difficult but definitely worth the visit for the food. The store itself looks like a section for groceries and butcher products with a cooking/grilling section on the side where the food is all made fresh. They have a good variety of options for both meatlovers and health conscious eaters. I ended up ordering the greek burger with fries, the avgolemono, chicken skewer and a nice thick piece of spanikopita. All of it was amazing and the tzatziki is one of my favorites. The food was all freshly made, the service was both friendly and helpful, and overall just a great experience. Will definitely be recommending and returning to try more options on their menu. This is our go to for Greek food, freshly prepared on the grill, refrigerated or frozen. Great friendly service with generous portions. Video posted is from Christmas catering a couple years ago. Gyros were the big hit but everyone also enjoyed chicken kebabs, rice, salad , green beans and more. I have also purchased groceries here such as oregano and canned goods. Phenomenal butcher shop! My family has been using this establishment to supply the best meats for years. They have pretty much any meats you would expect to find at an American butcher shop, but with plenty of Greek specialties such as prepared souvlakia and loukaniko, and even some more exotic offerings occasionally. Ownership and staff are kindly and generous. Amusingly I was not even aware that they prepare hot food to go. The only reason I would not recommend this store is if one happens to be a vegetarian, for obvious reasons, otherwise I absolutely recommend it! Gyro sandwich and fries for $10. I could stop right there. So good portions, reasonable price. Quality... spot on. Tender meat, not old or overcooked. Fresh onion and tomato. Tzatziki sauce was insanely good. That was our first intro... but they have a bunch of Greek platters, and I fancy making a dent in their menu. My first time here was today, I came here looking for Greek delicacies for the Easter holiday and I found plentiful. I was pleasantly surprised. They had both lamb and pork shish-ka-bobs, sliced beef, Greek sausages, taramasalata, skordalia, etc. The store is small but very well stocked and the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially a man named Louie. We ordered for catering for Mother's Day. Skewers of Lamb, Chicken and Beef. Every bite of meat was tender, juicy and seasoned perfectly. The rice was delicious! Gyros meat was perfectly seasoned and plentiful! Pitas were warm! Potatoes were seasoned perfectly and delicious! They come in chicken, beef, lamb, gyro and a few other types The chicken is a go-to item for any BBQ we host. These kabobs are marinated in sauce with Greek spices and come out very juicy and flavorful. They are so easy to prepare for a large group and everyone loves them. The gyro kabobs are also wonderful. It is everything good about a gyro that spins around on the spit for hours, but ready in 10 min on the grill. The owners are nice and the place always comes through with freshness. P&S Meats sells the best Greek chicken / pork souvlakia (i.e., kabobs). The souvlakia come marinated and seasoned, so all you need to do is fire up the grill and cook them. They also sell them cooked for an additional price. Up until recently, the souvlakia were only a dollar, however are now $1.25. Also their Greek sausage is equally as good. I have yet to try any of their other meats, but I'm sure their all just as good. read more

Delicious food! We call ahead and order lunch or dinner prepared for pick up. The spanakopita and tiropita are delicious starters. We get the kabob dinner platter that comes with rice, potatoes, pita and veggies. We have gotten the chicken, veggie, pork and gyro kabobs, all excellent! This place is such a rip off! I wish I could give it 0 stars. There are better, more HONEST butcher shops in Chicago that you can avoid this one. I had a mediocre experience last year buying meats at Easter form them. I figured that I would give them another chance this year- what a horrible mistake it turned out to be. It was even worse this year! Quality of products- meh. I have gotten better meat at COSTCO. Then the price- they didn't post their prices- or rather, they conspicuously took down any sign for the price of lamb before Easter. They just tell you how many pounds it is and then they tell you what you owe after you are in line at the register. It seems totally arbitrary and random. I figured that even though its Easter, I might pay a little more, and so what, these guys are fellow Greeks and they are trying to make a living - WRONG. I felt violated on so many levels, RAPE might be an appropriate description but its too insulting to women. Where I am from, you call the butcher ahead of time to make an order so they are not blindsided by walk in orders, especially at holidays. Even though I called a week ahead and was made to believe that I was making a call ahead order, they didn't tell me on the phone they do not take orders. When I went there to pick up my order, it was busy being a few days before Easter, and they asked what I wanted and then they told me no phone orders, first come first serve and they didn't have everything I wanted. When I realized what was happening, I thought to myself 'serves me right for not asking first' but then again, most people don't expect expect to get taken advantage of. I was committed to preparing Easter dinner for my family and at that moment did not want to deal with finding another butcher. The leg of lame was ok, not great, but I have gotten better tasting leaner meat from COSTCO . The ingredients for kokoretsi- even though I asked for an assortment or meats, they gave me like 2/3 lungs and sweetbreads, no liver, no kidneys and 4 bags of casings. FOUR! You only need 1 maybe 2 but FOUR? I was so unhappy when I discovered this, it took a lot for me to get over it and my family was totally supportive and understanding of P&S's screwup. What a shame, as much as we Greeks try to stick together, these guys are a disappointment. ! read more

I ordered from P&S meats this past weekend for a family party I was hosting and I'm so happy I did. The pork kebabs went first.. they melted off of the stick. Same with the chicken it's so good. I also ordered gyros and we loved it. They gave me the pites, onion and tomato and there was more than enough of everything. They cook quickly and stay tender throughout. In addition, they have gyro on a stick, which was interesting, but a bit greasy which was expected. Was driving back to Texas from a 4th of July mini vacation in Glenview with family. The only souvenir I could fathom taking back with me was some homemade deli meat. Particularly roast beef. There was a father and son behind the counter. I was plesantly assisted by the son. He was very friendly,the best service I had received while visiting. The meat was out of this world! I have bought their pork kebabs seasoned, skewered and ready for the grill. They also have a full service catering menu that specializes in traditional Greek cuisine like pastitio, tiropites, Greek potatoes, Rice pilaf, Fresh bread, Ribs, Greek sausage, roasted whole lamb and pork.
