Really thankful. Contacted P&M to get my Suzuki King Quad serviced before the 4th of July weekend. I didn't give them much time, carburetor was clogged and wasn't expecting to get it before the weekend. My wife absolutely loves going to the mountains and exploring as far as we possibly can, need the ATV to do it. She was hopeful. Paul kindly contacted me just prior to closing for the weekend and had it complete. ATV started right up and purred better than it ever has. We made it out to places you typically cannot get to, almost tumbled down the mountain twice! Was only possible with the care and service provided by P&M. I am surprised this guy has such good ratings. I had a difficult time communicating with his abrasive intolerant style. He was low classed but with high class standards. He refused to finish the bike requiring all new parts including a new cylinder. I took the bike home and all the original parts were in a box. Another mechanic said the cylinder was perfectly fine to use. Yet this guy would not re-install it with a new piston. So I figured it out and did it myself. The bike ran fine before, and guess what, it continued to run fine after, except with more compression from the new piston. Interacting with him was very emotionally charged and not worth it. He is seriously the worst mechanic I have had to deal with. Of course I paid him for over an hour of work for the disassembly and inspection. Do not let the Brit accent fool you. read more

Paul and his mate are the best. They helped my Triumph get back on the road and look better with some nice LED turn signals that hugged the bike more, and now looks great! My uber driver was angry turning into the Petaluma outlet parking area. Do not go there, or you will become almost as angry as my uber driver. This guy almost made me yak driving in circles out of there, muttering profanities while busting some hairpin u-turns. It was recommended by a friend and now I drive up to Petaluma from San Francisco for everything I need to have done on my motorcycle. My vintage Triumph had been stored for several years and then tuned by another shop. It didn't run well. I brought it to Paul and the difference is amazing. The carb jets were wrong for the exhaust system on the bike. The other shop didn't recognize that but Paul did. The bike now runs like a new one. Knowledgable and reasonably priced. These guys have a broad knowledge of lots of bikes, they're my go to bike shop for stuff that I either don't want to do myself or don't feel confident doing. I get all my street & dirt tires from P&M and the pricing is on par with the online shops. I've never had any problems and they've always been thorough and take the time to explain the work being done. The location is a little industrial but after you go there once or twice, you won't think anything of it. I brought my Triumphs (modern) and Ducati to them for service. I have several bikes that are well over 25 years old, and very few mechanics are working on them these days. These guys do. (It's sometimes fun seeing the dinosaurs that come through the shop) Paul has been very accommodating with my no appointment drop offs, and further has always turned them around quickly (on a couple of occasions with wheel bearings, he had them finished in less than 15 minutes). Steve is also an exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful mechanic, and the only mechanic I know of in the North Bay who is certified to work on old Honda CX turbos. For the most part, I do my own mechanical work, but when there's a job that I don't have a tool for (or I screw up and need help), P&M is the only shop I use. read more

I needed a new set of tires mounted and balanced on my sport bike and found P&M Motorcycles in Petaluma through Yelp. Paul took care of my request on time, with no issues and for a very fair price. He advised me I needed a new chain and sprockets and quoted me the price (again a fair price). I did do the chain and sprockets myself for the experience and to learn a little something about working on bikes. I spent a few years working on cars and semi's and have a degree in automotive & diesel technology. I have seen the good and the not so good mechanics. With my background, it can be difficult to trust anyone working on my stuff, but I had a good feel about Paul from the beginning. He is extremely knowledgable, honest and very easy to talk to.
