At the initial consultation, Michael showed me the stones he sourced (all within the budget I sent him earlier) and I quickly narrowed down my selection to one sapphire that just stood out. He took down all my notes about how I wanted the ring to be, and sent me an estimate later that afternoon. By the evening, I had a deposit placed and was excited. The entire process took about 7 weeks, from placing an order to receiving the ring. When Kimberfire sent me the sketches of the ring, there were a few changes that had to made the first time, but Michael was very helpful throughout, explaining every single aspect to me and answering every single one of my questions. He was very nice and patient and took the time to explain everything to us in great detail. He went over options and gave us a benchmark in terms of pricing for the kind of piece we wanted. He made sure we were comfortable with the budget and said he would find us more options. We then met with his brother, Sam, who's the designer. He also took the time to explain things to us and answer questions we had. You can really tell he's passionate about his work - everything on display is designed by him! It was supposed to be a very simple fix but she had to send 3 times and every single time when she receive her ring, there is new damage on the ring ! She end up went to other jeweller to fix all the issues. I was very surprise since this jeweller has such great reviews but my friend's personal experience was extremely opposite. The way you are asking questions seems like you're not serious and you are just trying on but not going to purchase" and then walked away and sat down in the back of the room. He then also mentioned "we are closing soon" (which was true - i called ahead to ask if it was okay). I was shocked. I have been in many diamond stores as I am looking for rings myself and everyone is patient and kind - they know that people go to multiple stores to understand what they like. That is the point of going in store. I was embarrassed i even suggested to my friend to go here and i could tell she felt really bad for something she shouldn't have. After he said that, we left shortly after (it was past closing too). Before leaving, i told the other person (who was nice) that we are serious buyers and i didn't think we needed to verbalize it. Sounds like the theme is a bad temper from the owner. Once I had narrowed down my choices, Evelyn talked to us for over an hour about diamonds, rings and even cute stories about other couples. We stayed way past closing time. My partner went in that week to pick out a stone and design the ring with Evelyn's help. He combined several elements from the rings I had liked to create a ring that is uniquely mine. He insisted that they expedite the building of the ring so that he could present it to me on our anniversary, and they delivered.
