Large portion sizes - I believe the omelettes are made with 5 eggs! My husband liked his omelette very much but the eggs in my veggie omelette were dry - probably cooked at too high of a temperature. Even the goat cheese and guacamole inside couldn't save it. I did like how you could upgrade the breakfast potatoes to a bowl of seasonal fruit or berries, though the potatoes are awesome - crispy on the outside while being soft on the inside. While there's a kids menu, mine shared a giant adult's entree consisting of 3 eggs, 3 pancakes, 3 slices of bacon, 3 slices of ham, and 3 sausage links and scarfed it all up. I'd come again but would probably not order an omelette next time, especially since there are so many delicious sounding avocado toast options.

When ordering, I highly recommend pairing a small plate or companion with a larger plate! I ordered the Pork Belly Barbacoa and shared a small plate of Olive Oil and Rosemary Focaccia. I had a strawberry crème brûlé with ice cream (great for sharing if you just want a little treat). Drink were great. I'm a sucker for anything with lavender.

Our waitress came over right away and took our drink order. She was also very friendly and welcoming. She delivered our drinks promptly and came right over to take our orders. Despite a very busy restaurant, our orders came out within 5 minutes of ordering. The food was hot and the portions were HUGE! I had the Canadian omelette which had peameal, about a pound of cheese and mushrooms. There was a generous portion of home fries and it is usually served with thick-cut toast but I ordered it without. My husband had the meat lover's breakfast. It had bacon, eggs, large sausages and two slices of ham. It also came with the home fries and toast. Our son had a chicken Caesar salad, which was also very large and had a huge amount of chicken on top. It came with a dinner roll. The food all tasted very good. The only complaint was from our son who said the chicken was a little dry (but had great flavour). The restaurant and washrooms were very clean and well taken care of. The service was excellent. We'd definitely return.

I was in town from Boston for a wedding and felt lucky to stumble across this spot -- it's the kind of place you hope to find when you travel. I noticed right away that they serve all-day breakfast, and everything on the menu looked so tempting. I had the Mediterranean omelette, homemade carrot cake, and couldn't resist and got myself the coconut cream pie too. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned -- true comfort food and the menu had so many amazing portions. What stood out most was the people. My waitress, Sarah, was incredibly kind and extremely attentive above and beyond, and Don even stopped by my table to personally introduce himself and greet me, say thank you, and check in. They need to have more Sarah's and Dons in restaurants and management. That kind of welcoming, family-owned service is so rare today -- it truly felt like being invited into someone's home. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there, and the food came out hot and delicious. El Spero has that rare, cozy, family-owned charm where the staff truly care about every guest. I'll definitely be back and will be telling my snowbird friends from Naples and Southwest Florida -- especially those that live in the Toronto area too -- to make this a stop whenever they're home. El Spero is outstanding: the perfect mix of amazing food, genuine people, and family-owned hospitality. A family-owned spot this welcoming and delicious makes you wish every hometown had one -- I'd go every day.
