We made an appointment a month ago because we knew how busy Charlie is. Charlie is super sweet, made sure it's everything we wanted and help us understand the concept of colors and how tattoos will look on our body. My siblings and I got Roman numerals tattoos in 1-3 to represent the order we were born in. My older got his son's initials on his arm, my younger brother got an Om and I got a small hands of god on my wrist. It was a great bonding experience for us, and Charlie really made us feel comfortable. He double checked our tattoos and re-bandages our tats and we were good to go. I highly recommend coming to see him. He is booked up months in advance, so make an appointment ASAP.

I am permanently tattooed with a grammatical error because of this shop, and the owner (George) --…read morewho claims 40 years of experience -- told me to simply "live with it." The tattoo was supposed to read "and this TOO shall pass." It was inked as "and this TO shall pass." A mistake a fourth-grader would catch. I'll own my part -- I should have checked the stencil more carefully. But a professional with 40 years of experience should catch a misspelled word before it's on someone's skin forever. He also ignored two requests for a break mid-session with "it'll be done in just a minute." When I raised the error, there was no apology, no offer to fix it, no refund -- just a dismissal. I paid $200 in full, and left calmly with my father who came to pick me up. George has since threatened to release security footage of my departure, which will show exactly that: a paying customer walking out the door. I spent an additional $120 getting it covered up correctly by Jason at Wyld Child Tattoo in Merrick -- an artist who actually made sure we were on the same page before starting. The contrast in professionalism couldn't be clearer. Forty years in this industry and this is the customer service on offer. Avoid this shop for any lettering work.

I decided to get my first tattoo on my forearm as a sleeve…read more I live near TJ Tattoo Studio so I figured it'd be easiest to drop in there. However, before I decided to stop by I checked the online site and saw all of the artwork and information/advice that was provided. This helped me out a lot before going into the studio. I particularly admire TJ's Japanese style vibes. So when I got to the studio I met with the one and only TJ, and wow as an artist/owner my first impression of TJ was that he seemed very humble and open. He helped me figure out what I wanted and where I wanted my tattoo which took a couple of minutes. After my deposit he began the sketch and when it finished I got even more excited since it looked so nice. I went in for a total of 10 hours or so and there was never a second that I felt uncomfortable. The store manager Lucious was there and gave me lots of advice, he was also hella lit. TJ also makes sure you're ready and comfortable before he begins his amazing artwork and while he's doing it. The place is also very clean and organized, love the new renovations. In the end I am super happy and stoked about this first tattoo. TJ is an amazing artist and deserves more recognition for sure. If you're ever in need of unbelievable tattoo artwork and fun experiences I really recommend this place.
