Ok, I went to Jamaica ave (from the Bronx) to get tattooed by a different artist, unfortunately his shop closed down (he did some tattoos on me that I loved and was going back to see him specifically @ murda ink). So after seeing his shop closed (I didn't do my research so this was my first mistake), I walked around looking for another tattoo shop to do a cover up of an old tattoo. I found this shop. I met the owner (forgot his name) but seemed like a cool guy but I should've gotten suspicious when he said "if there is anything wrong or need a touch up you can come back and get it done for free", that should've been my second warning & I didn't listen to myself. So I got a simple tattoo that would cover up my old tattoo & the colors I wanted, all straight lines, simple enough right? WRONG!! It looked great when I walked out the shop, but as soon as it started healing, I noticed all inconsistencies. 1 line thicker than the other, triangles not lining up, etc. I had gotten the decepticon symbol from the cartoon "the transformers" since I been a fan since the original cartoons came out (*no affiliation with the decepticon gang out of Brooklyn). I should've went with my instincts like I did the 1st time around and did my research but that "itch" to get another tattoo got me, that's my fault. While their shop is nice, they need to step up their game in tattooing, because you putting something on some one that they got to live with & if you cant do a straight line, then you need to practice more before picking up a tattoo machine to ink someone else other than yourself. Will I go back to get this touched up? HELL NO & I will never go back there again. I got an appointment later today with another artist for a full sleeve I want to get done and I did my research and I am hoping he can fix this when the time comes. I have seen his work and he is noted as one of the best tattoo artist in NY (I will post about that later). I would recommend anyone wanting to get a tattoo, to do your research thoroughly first but I do recommend that you not come here. I looked at most of the tattoo pictures they had hanging on the walls and now thinking that they are printed out pictures of tattoo designs instead of actual drawings, not that there is anything wrong with that, but at a minimum you have to be able to at least duplicate the drawings exactly how it is supposed to be, especially if its a going to be tattooed on someone. If I would've been patient & did my research like I did before, I wouldn't be writing this right now, but hopefully someone will read & take what I wrote into consideration before considering going there for a tattoo. read more

Went for my first tattoo here and I can honestly say that I am in love. The personalities of the people and the vibe in the shop is what will have me going back. First off the shop is dope with vibrant colors, graffiti and they just got a new comfy couch they offered for us to sit on. The owner Deon was extremely funny and very helpful in getting the tattoo I wanted within my budget. He will help you, just tell him how much you are willing to spend and he'll get to work. The studio also had music playing which gave off a great vibe, especially while being tatted. My artist was Bryan a Trini ting who made sure I was comfortable, was polite and funny too. He asked questions, sang along to songs and was just very cool, but his work is what has me in love. His work was better than the picture of what I wanted, he took his time and paid attention to all the details. This is the L my piercing parlor I would ever go to since I'm not into tattoos. Quick & painless. BEST TATTOO SHOP EVER!! I have gotten at least 6 tattoos done at this shop. Very professional, awesome service, store was pretty pact and workers kept me updated and made sure I was okay. I have also gotten my nose & tongue pierced A few years back and it has healed perfectly since then. Artists made sure I was comfortable, relaxed and were very friendly! I came into this shop with my tattoo ideas and Deon brought my ideas to life along with his artist. I have went to many other shops on the ave and none of them were as professional as rising Phoenix ink. This is a very clean professional tattoo shop, unlike alot of the other ones you find in the neighborhood... Everyone is professional, and will help you find art that you are looking for. Even if you bring in an idea and the staff feels they can give you better direction they wont hesitate to tell you! They have a separate piercing room and four private tattoo booths; there's a pool table, VIP lounge, they throw parties, play good music, and it's always a fun experince. Made an appointment to go over what I wanted done. Went in Deon threw me some ideas and images, which I actually felt was the better look for what I wanted. He lined me up with Wayne who was perfect for the job and tattoos very efficiently, he also threw in his ideas and made some connecting pieces for me and made sure I was comfortable with the look, size, etc.. LOVE THIS PLACE. I left Westchester County to go to Queens because the work they do is bar none (outstanding ) and the prices are reasonable.
