A very high 4 stars, on the cusp of the 5 and my favorite coffee shop in Boulder in terms of flavor. Ozo is their own roaster and seems to be a much more traditional coffee shop than the others on the Pearl Street Mall. I'm a little disappointed I only tried one cup, but it was the best coffee I've ever had in Boulder. Their special was a Mexican. I had it as a pour over and it was prepared perfectly. Very nice rich flavor to it. While the barista was preparing my coffee, we had a conversation and she was super nice. She even suggested the 5 star sandwich shop (Cured West) next door. 5 stars for the customer service here. They have a roaster in the city that potentially does tours and possibly samplings. I think Ozo roasters are the best in Boulder. This is my go-to shop in Boulder. read more

We walked right by this place on the way to brunch one Sunday. On our way back towards the car we were both feeling parched and decided on a quick stop for a beverage. Ozo wins my heart over with their local coffee joint feel. You can tell this is where the locals come for coffee and that's always a great sign when walking into an unknown coffee joint. The barista was very knowledgeable about coffee and quickly struck up a pleasant conversation with us on what we were looking for. Being a former barista myself I can be pretty critical at times and I had nothing to be critical about here. He offered us the House Special, a version of a latte/cappuccino mix with espresso, steamed milk and foam. This is some strong espresso and tasted smooth and creamy, just the way espresso should be. It was just what the doctor ordered and quenched my need for a delectable beverage. We grabbed a couple seats outside and enjoyed the warm sun shining down on us while sipping our House Specials. The next time I'm in Boulder, this is a great place for a coffee. read more

Lots of seating and room to work! The cashier/barista was very nice and funny even taking into account that before me they had a very difficult customer who was behaving oddly and purposely didn't pay for all her drink/meal. I tried the Black Forest Iced Mocha. The coffee was really good. They had a lot of syrup options and a flavor menu full of fun sounding suggestions. read more

Favorite coffee place in Boulder. Ordering can be a little tricky as the line gets interspersed with people waiting for barista drinks. Typically 3 different coffees available on pour-over, chemx or french press. The barista will also let you smell the beans and talk about tasting notes if yer into that kind of thing. Try the sunshine cake and any roast from Ethiopia. read more

I usually get coffee and I have also been happy with the food I have occasionally ordered there. But what I love is the atmosphere, so vibrant and friendly. Did a tasting here. Friendly and fun. We tried their Ethiopian beans via chemex, pour over, French press and an espresso shot. All were tasty, and Mutually dramatically different. They also have a huge set of options for mochas. We tried the loch Ness mocha - dark chocolate, Irish cream and mint. it was well balanced and super creamy. The only problem was how busy it was, but I won't hold that against them. ... I've been here several times now. I live in Denver, but I come up to Boulder to work sometimes for a change of scene - and Ozo is my goto spot. Their coffee is very good 5-star. They have lots of seating, but they area also popular. Traffic seems to ebb and flow. One hours there isn't a free seat, the next hour it's half empty - at least in the 9-1pm hours during the week when I'm usually there. They have a decent number of outlets. Wifi is acceptable, which is pretty good given there are usually a 2 or more dozen laptops open: 3.36/1.49megabits down/up. They do ask you buy something every 2 hours or so. They do have some non-carb options for snacks, too. My only complaint really is they are too busy - tough problem to have! read more

Best mocha I've had in 2 years! As a daily mocha drinker that's saying a lot. I stopped in Ozo for and afternoon pick me up while touring Pearl Street. It was crazy busy and a little chaotic as there weren't any clear lines established to place an order. I made my way to the counter and the barista wasn't super helpful but he pointed me in the direction of the Mocha Menu where I quickly decided on a Van Halen. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is because the customer service experience wasn't great and it took about 20 min to order and receive my drink. It is by far one of the best mochas I have ever had and I'm hoping they eventually expand to other states. I will definitely be visiting Ozo daily on my next visit to Boulder! read more

There are many good coffee shops in Boulder. I would put OZO in the top tier. If you are looking for good espresso, a pour over brew, pastry, or some variety of whole beans, OZO has a great selection. I always tend to be drawn to shops that offer alternate brewing methods. Gives the ability to try new beans before buying. Another plus is that OZO has a good selection on home brew accessories. Being that I tend to home brew by pour over or Aeropress, I always can pick up anything needed here. Beans and consumables. Great selection on Hario products. I will say OZO is big and tends to be crowded. Sometimes it's hard for me to find a table which does drive me to frequent other shops, which I won't name in this review. But if you are looking to pick something up and take it to go this is a great place. And if you get there at the right time it is a great place to get work done. read more

This is a hip cafe with good coffee and a nice selection of pastries. They roast and sell their own coffee. It was not too bitter or acidic, just right. The bear claw is like a chocolate croissant and almond croissant stuffed together. It needs to be shared with a friend. Muffins and gluten free breads are available, too. First time here on a cold, sunny afternoon. Ambience is nice. I ordered the Bhakti chai since they don't have the unsweetened Sherpa chai. I was surprised by the 4 oz pour of chai for what the menu stated as 8 oz. As a wine person, I can eyeball the difference in volume reasonably accurately but who knows how they measure. For almost $4+, I think they need to re-evaluate their pour volumes or, at least, prove that it's actually 8 oz. That said, the chai was good - can't screw up something that's pre-made and comes out of a jug, I suppose. read more

What a magnificent dirty chai his place serves up! And they offer a second shot for the same price!? DONE! I was shocked at how cheap this coffee shop is also... must have been the reason behind the line at 2pm on a Wednesday? Their prices are amazing, especially since they are located in the heart of Boulder on pearl street. No $8 cappuccino here. If you know this part of boulder you know that street parking is the option here...unless you intend to find a lot and walk a few blocks. Excellent coffee and expert baristas who really know their craft. It gets busy but you can usually find a seat, the WiFi is decent, and the atmosphere is conducive to work and creativity. If you're up for a snack, more of their items now are being made in-house (some onsite, some not) and it's all delicious. To top it all off, you can bring your dog and sit with them out front or on the back patio! read more

Cockroach Infested. The coffee was good, but there a lot of cockroaches on the wall and crawling behind the big bench on the left as you walk in. The staff didn't seem to care and said, "oh, sorry about that. Have a nice night." Health inspector needs to pay a visit! read more

Really great workspace and place to meet people for an excellent cup of coffee! Quiet place and super relaxed atmosphere mid day. Not the best place to study or read quietly, but seriously a chill coffee shop! Music playlist is never annoying. Seriously any of their coffee is good! Also grab a panini out of the cooler cabinet next to the counter and get it heated. It's super good -- locally made by Spruce. Decent drinks, but do not come here if you need to use the wifi. It's terrible and constantly kicks you off. It's really frustrating to wait in a long line, tip the server, and sit down to find out the internet is basically non-existent. They should warn guests before paying for drinks. read more

This is the coffee bar where you can order the half pipe caramel mocha creamer steam dyed one eyed no shut eyed java chai and not only will they understand and affirm your cause, they'll ask you if you if want cinnamon on it. Bring your best because this coffee and gourmet bake house has seen it all. There's a full selection of no gluten, soy, almond, lactose free everything to accommodate every dietary restriction. Super cool place in a super cool location. Perfect addition to Boulder's busy Pearl street. Its a pretty big coffee shop with good amount of seating and super cool baristas. The Bhakti chai latte was great. I had the Matcha latte (green tea latte without sugar). It was a bit of a struggle but I knew what just I signed up for LOL. I also had a shot of Cholaca - Pure liquid unsweetened Cocoa. It was the perfect elixir that calmed the dark chocolate loving neurons in my brain. Ozo Coffee was established in 2006. We opened our first cafe on east Arapahoe in Boulder in 2007. In 2009 we began roasting our own specialty coffees and in 2011 opened Ozo Pearl. In 2013 we opened the Ozo Roastery Cafe and in 2016 expanded to Longmont with the opening of our fourth cafe.

We were surprised to find it very crowded at 4pm when we visited. There's a small area at the front of the restaurant and a lot of folks were gathered there waiting for their tables. It took several minutes before the hostess checked us in and let us know it would be a few minute wait. A bit later we were guided to our seats. I appreciated that they took trouble to make it feel like a special experience - with white tablecloths, decor and the cutlery. They seemed a bit short staffed that day so our server was helping out many tables. He was very helpful in explaining the menu, though we did have to ask specifically to receive the full tea menu. We decided on a few teas to share - a spiced white chocolate white tea, rooibos chai, and a hibiscus cooler (iced and non-caffeinated). The spiced white chocolate was fantastic. I wasn't as much of a fan of the rooibos but if you like less sweet teas this is a good choice. The hibiscus cooler was delicious and refreshing, and I liked that they let us take it to go! Our amuse bouche came out first - a delicious pumpkin seed savory small soup and it was fantastic. We eagerly awaited our tea tower - and it certainly did not disappoint! We are still thinking about the delicious spinach and artichoke pinwheel with olive tapenade - it was our absolute favorite. The savory sandwiches were also delicious. We especially enjoyed the clotted cream and lemon curd with the scone, and the desserts were delectable. We were stuffed by the end of our teatime! Our server was very helpful and despite it being very busy, we felt taken care of. I think this is a very worthwhile experience - the tea, sweets, and savories are all delicious and definitely worth checking out!

There are coffee shops on what seems like every corner and every block in Boulder Colorado. It is a coffee haven, people demand them to have an alternative place to work in quiet and work in public, to get their creative juices flowing. Why would I give Ozo a five star rating? I give most great places 4 stars.... For starters they do great business. They have their own roasters and they delegate well. I have had plenty of friends work for Ozo's coffee and have heard only normal work related complaints. They handle their business well. If you enjoy great coffee, Boulder is the city for you! Ozo's continues this trend with top notch coffee for your coffee connoisseur. They also have plenty of coffee alternatives and great pastries. It's a place to get work done... the right way. Many coffee shops in Boulder have enough work space, and others don't, but Ozo's always seem to have a place to sit and work and better yet they have plugs to get that computer charged when you need! We make the trek to Boulder probably every 10-14 days and always stop in this Ozo coffee shop. We used to rate Fluid in Denver as our favorite but when you include the overall friendliness of the employees, the quality of their coffee and the eats they offer at Ozo, it is a cut above Fluid. Have a Chem-Ex. The "barista" will give you a nice presentation on the coffee you've selected. And they know their coffee at Ozo. read more

They make a very good 3rd Street Chai. They have free wifi. I love ordering hot tea while I do my home work and they let you come up as many times as you want to refill your water. Contacted the store, explained the issue and was told to fill out an on-line form which would go to the owners. Did so months ago but never got a response. Ozo Coffee is a great place to get work done. They have plugs near every table and offer free wifi to all of their guests. The music is upbeat and lends to a lively environment. I've never had trouble staying focused on then task at hand while I've been here. Great selection if coffee and tea. They also offer almond, soy, and other dairy milk options. read more

House Special is my fave. I will say I loved my barista this morning. Generally speaking, the other coffee drinks are not totally fabulous, and trying to score a table can be brutal -- but geez, I guess that last point just speaks to the popularity of the place.
