These guys are nothing short of FANTASTIC! Ahmet, the owner, is kind and honest. One of the hardest things to do is to trust a mechanic. I was a bit apprehensive when I dropped off my car to have them diagnose an issue that another mechanic couldn't find. My auto emergency was immediately met by the friendly and outstanding service of Ahmet, Ozco Repair owner. Having experienced a sudden brake malfunction in the course of a few days, I discovered Ozco (via great reviews on Yelp) was in my new neighborhood. I arrived without an appointment at 4p the Thursday prior to Thanksgiving. I was lucky to have any forward driving movement, as the reverse gear was not functioning at all. Ahmet was quick to open the garage upon my arrival and did not hesitate to address my concerns. He assessed the problem and immediately called to locate parts, which are not so common, after market, on the 09 Sonata. He had located the parts within a few phone calls and promised the completion, along with a very fair estimate, for pickup within less than 24 hours. This was a great surprise, considering the upcoming holiday! When I arrived to pick up my car, Ahmet confirmed the work needed was as he suspected, not a penny more-even showing me the damage that had caused the problem. This guy is a rip-off! Charged me $300 for a simple alternator swap. Alternator cost $90, labor is 1.5 hours max which is $115. On top of it he wouldn't give me the old alternator, because he was going to get extra $45 for returning it to the parts supplier. Such a dishonest mechanic. Swears to god, all the time, saying like: "Only for you brother, the best price". I would've gone somewhere else, but my car came to a dead stop after I came to his shop. Knowing that I cannot take the car out somewhere else, he charged me more. Would not recommend going to this place. There are plenty of other places to go. Save yourself some money. One of my friends got a quote from this guy on his BMW front suspension job for $1400. But he got it done somewhere else for$250 labor and $200 parts. He saved $950 just for not using this guy. What can I say, whatever extra $$$ he made from overcharging me is sadaka. read more

This is a great place to take your car. The boss Ahmet is the nicest mechanic I have ever met. He is a very down-to-earth kinda guy, and this place has a great history behind it. I've taken my car here on two separate occasions. The first was for an emissions test I failed with the state of Illinois. They not only fixed it, but also took it to the emissions facility for me to pass the test. I was so impressed with the service I took my car here for a broken wheel barring I had. They once again fixed it quickly, and also fixed a perpetually squeaky belt for me at no extra charge. The prices here are very fair, and they've never tried to scare me into fixing something else with my car. What you'll pay here is definitely cheaper than any auto chain center or dealership. I won't be going to any other mechanic now that I've found Ozco. read more

I've been meaning to write this for a while - I went here about a year ago due to a noise coming from my left front tire. I came in because the reviews on Yelp were good. After some investigation of my own, I told the shop guy I thought it was a bearing issue. He took the car for a test drive and told me that he'd have to replace the bearing, as well as the two front tires. It would cost hundreds. I went to another shop to get a second opinion. They told me it was just a bad tire. I replaced the tire and no more noise - it was fixed! Glad I didn't spend hundreds on both tire replacement and a new bearing. read more

Avoid this place at all cost. Ahmet is one of those sneaky mechanic's that will tell you that the perfectly fine part is bad, only to get more money out of you. His friendly and generous attitude is just an act. Don't allow him to lure you in. He prays on nice people. Ahmet answers his phone while being in the middle of the conversation with you, and he goes on talking on the phone for next 20 minutes. I should have walked away right there and then. Be careful. I've known people he gives great deals to which brought me here, but he's ripped me off twice now and I'm done going to him. He's a very friendly guy and suckers you into trusting him. He up-charged me both times I went to him. He gave me one price, then called me a couple hours later and gave me the whole, "well, it's going to cost a little more than I expected" line. Of course, he already has my car midway through repairs. After my first bad experience I thought maybe it was a fluke because he has such good ratings. I want to like him because he's a nice person on the surface, but he's as greedy as any other mechanic. My business is going elsewhere. read more

Ahmet is very friendly, you can really feel that he cares about his costumers' cars. He advised me what would be good to do and what I could wait. I had concerns of a timing chain issue but he advised me that it was not time yet. He fixed my car perfectly. I also wanted to upgrade my muffler but wasn't sure what was on the market so I told him the sound I wanted and he matched me up with a specific magnaflow muffler. The car sounds quit and gentle when i want and turns into a roaring beast when I need it. Love IT!!! He even attended to little things here and there that I was not expecting (like cleaning the rust off the hitch and repainting it black at no charge). This shop is very dishonest. They claimed repeatedly to be negotiating on my behalf with the insurance company, but in reality they were dragging their feet and not doing the work they claimed. It ended up costing me a great deal more to use this shop than it would have to go somewhere else. Do yourself a favor and find a better, more honest place to take your car. read more

tl; dr warning! About three or so months ago, my car started making a strange (and not terribly pleasant) sound whenever I turned it on. As you do in such cases, I hoped it would go away. It didn't. So, I did the only logical thing: I ignored it. Until I couldn't ignore it anymore, because about three weeks ago the engine temperature light started coming on, first blinking and then disappearing, and then just remaining on, all ominously red. I figured the car was just short on coolant--it had been over a year since I had the fluids changed (as you can see, I am an *excellent* car owner--so I took it to Jiffy Lube. They told me that the coolant level looked fine, and I hoped that whatever other magic they did would solve the issue. And it did! For about two minutes on the way home, until the engine temp light came back on. So I took the car the following morning to Ozco, because it was the closest repair shop to my apartment. I dropped it off with Ahmet at about 8:15, and at 8:25, he was calling me: he knew as soon as he turned it on that the water pump was no good. A no good water pump often means a no good engine, but somehow, miraculously, it didn't seem the engine had been damaged in any way despite the fact that it was getting very little (if any) coolant for a solid three months. I picked the car up at 6 pm, and it hasn't made any weird noises or turned on any lights since. As for pricing...I figure that the moment you've taken your car into the shop, you've pretty much accepted that you're out $300, so the final price didn't seem that scandalous to me. Ahmet is a great overall guy, let alone a mechanic. He makes me feel like family every time I come in and is very honest with me. I've spent a lot of money on my damn problem cars VW and Audi and has always addressed the problem. I'm very handy around a car and my only problem is I don't have a garage, so i know if a mechanic is giving me the run around and selling me unnecessary service. I hit a curb and popped my tire so the next day I went into Ozco to get it fixed. Ahmet was so nice and ordered my tire that day, called to make sure it would come in and then called me when it did come in later that afternoon. I dropped it off Saturday morning and they were finished in less than 30 min plus the guy who did the work (I dont know his name) cleaned out my entire trunk which was extremely dirty (leaves, popcorn, garbage, you name it) and then put everything back.
