Our first time there and we went based on other peoples rave reviews. He took it on a test drive and thoroughly checked pads, etc. He told us we should do nothing right now - we have at least 6000 miles left. Given the way we drive that's another year. It's heartening to know there are still honest mechanics and he's a really nice guy besides. We had him change our oil!

Do not change your oil here unless you're willing to stay on top of what they're doing to your car…read morethe entire time. The mechanic was on the phone the entire time, and I don't want to imply they left my oil plug half tightened, but looking at the other reviews it seems to be their business model. I will admit that I am completely ignorant when it comes to just about anything with cars, so I had no idea what kind of damage I could be doing to the car to continue driving, and I was a good 2 hours from home. I happened to find Kris Touhy Auto because I searched for a BP gas station close to me along my route -- and sure enough attached to the BP was this auto shop. I was shaken, I was embarrassed, I was rushed -- and the two men in the shop (an older gentleman and a younger man) immediately stopped what they were doing and both came out to check my oil level and fill it up -- for like pennies! They even showed my son (and me) how to do it. I can't say enough good things about these men and this shop. It seems like a simple, easy thing for most, but they saved the day for me, and it had a huge impact on my day. If I lived closer, you'd be my go-to! Thanks, gentlemen.
