My best friend told me about the office and after over 20 years research in SMART dentistry and alternative ways to look at the approach to teeth and whole body healthy we now have Dr. in the area that understands and teaches. I've been waiting forever for a researched, holistic dentist that actually cares about whole mouth and body health for so long. Dr. Mullen was very thorough in my exam, and explained things my other dentist of over 20 years never explained or any other dentist I'd ever been to. The dental assistants and staff were all amazingly kind and informed too. I felt right at home. If you're looking for someone that cares about whole body and mouth health we now have one and that makes me so happy! Thank you Ozarks Holistic Dental for going above and beyond in dentistry. DISAPPOINTED I was fired from this dental office for canceling my appointment for today. I had an appointment in December, but I was sick with a virus like influenza. (I never was tested to confirm) I didn't think he would want me coughing in his face every 30 seconds. I didn't want to cancel the for today appointment, but when I woke up early this morning, my daughter's cat had taken a significant turn for the worse. (She has had cancer) She could barely breathe and had not been able to make it to the cat box during the night. So, I called the vet early this morning and we decided it was time to help our sweet cat over the rainbow bridge. The vet appointment was right before my dental appointment and I didn't think I would make in time nor did I want my daughter to be left alone to grieve. The dental office was not open yet when I called so I left them a message notifying them of the situation. Then I get a text early this afternoon stating that I would not be able to reschedule and would need to find another dentist. The part that is so frustrating is they never notified me of their cancellation policy! Ugh!! What a great way to end this bummer day. read more

At first I loved this Dr. but I realized it was only for my cleanings. Once I started having actual teeth work done that quickly changed. You can tell he was a clinic doctor before he became a holistic dentist. He will blame you for his mistakes, make you feel like you are such an inconvenience and you will eventually need to find another dentist to see if they can help repair the damage done by him. Paid him $5,000 to do a bridge and ultimately ended up losing 3 teeth because of his work. Was never able to get the bridge done and they refused to give any money back. read more

Wesley Mullen shouldn't be in the health care field. His not compassionate nor shows much concern if you have a, per sé emergency. I see other reviews of disappointed patient's as well and not surprising. Wanted to get my dentures fitted since I was missing two front teeth from an extraction I NEEDED and when the dentures came in, I couldn't have them fitted at the dental office where I had them made because of the COVIDD SCAM. The dental office wouldn't see anyone who WOULDN'T wear a mask. So there I sat with front teeth missing, feeling like a really lost hillbilly and was devastated, couldn't go out in public nor talk without covering my mouth. Embarrassing to say the least. I called Mullins office, since I had seen him before and had work done to see if he could get me in asap and to fit my new dentures so I could feel like a human again. Well, NO...he ONLY would do work on his dentures EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM I WOULD PAY FULL PRICE THE COST OF A NEW SET, just to please fit the ones I had ready instead of making 3 trips and waiting months later! NOPE. Was really blown away of how inconsiderate he was. I told him, practitioners in the holistic fields DON'T treat client/patients like this! Get yourself a truly caring dentist. read more

Second time visiting Ozark Holistic Dental. No problems the first time aside from them being pricy, but I overlooked that bc they don't use fluoride. On 7/10/2024, the dental hygienist polished my teeth, then proceeded to tell me I would need to wipe myself down with a wet wipe before the doctor would clean my teeth bc I smelled like essential oils. I told them I wasn't going to wipe myself down like a dirty person. Then I found out after the visit that the doctor was passive aggressively complaining to my husband in the next room, during his entire cleaning, about smelling essential oils. When we went to check-out, they refused to reduce the cost of my service since they only rendered the polish treatment, no cleaning. So I paid $111 for a teeth polish, no cleaning. I would say I'm irritated, but only at the fact that I didn't get to get my teeth cleaned, which I look forward to. Also irritated, I got charged for a service that wasn't rendered, which in my opinion is bad business, especially one claiming to be "holistic." I'm assuming they turn away patients if they smell like cigarette smoke, laundry detergent, heavy body odor, or other things that can't be wiped off with a wet wipe. If this was such a condition for treatment, it should have been mentioned in any of the 3 text reminders I received regarding our appts. As much as I'd like to patronize a business that claims to be like-minded regarding health, I won't be going back. My opinion, find yourself another place to get your teeth cleaned, unless you're a gluten for punishment and enjoy walking on eggshells. In that case, make thyself clean before being seen by the high & mighty. Also discovered during the visit that they look-down on people bringing their children to visits. So, if you're a parent, just avoid scheduling an appointment unless you have a babysitter. I was fortunate enough my in-laws were in town this time and didn't have to bring my kiddos; otherwise, I'm sure that would have been a problem as well. read more

Stay far away from this dental office! After paying for expensive cleanings here, it was discovered that two of my daughters had cavities that needed filled. This dentist did such a poor job that he actually damaged their teeth much more than the cavities ever had. The filling had bubbles, spilled up and over their teeth, and filled the cracks between their molars making it impossible to floss. This was painful for them and when I inquired about why they still had pain, I was told I would need to pay for another cleaning for him to look at the fillings and assess the cause of pain. We weren't aware of the specifics of his shoddy workmanship until we sought care from another local dentist because their pain and inability to floss was a red flag to not return to this office. The x-rays at the new office revealed what he had done to my daughters' teeth. It will take months of procedures to correct the issue. Seven extractions and new replacement fillings are needed to fix the problems created by Dr. Mullens. We have called Holistic Dental to ask for a refund and even sent them the X-rays as proof but they have refused to refund us the money we spent to have the cavities "filled" by Dr. Mullens. I've had tremendous mom guilt about subjecting my daughters to Dr. Mullens "care", he damaged their permanent adult teeth and has been the cause of much pain for them. read more

Our family transferred care to Dr. Mullen in an effort to seek holistic dental care. We traveled 3 hours one way for our appointments. We had 3 different meetings with him. The first time he scheduled both my husband & daughter for a check up, but only had time to see my husband. We waited for my daughter to see him a month later as she needed a cavity repaired before having braces. At that next appointment, he became very aggressive in front of my 8-year-old daughter when he determined that he would not fill her cavity. That left her in a compromising position as we continue to wait to get into a new dentist & she is in significant pain. Still, we gave Dr. Mullen the benefit of the doubt. We returned for another appointment where my husband was scheduled for 2 teeth to be pulled & my son was due to have a routine exam. When I asked if I could transfer my pano xray, he erupted in front of my son & his staff. He then said, "We are done here!" refusing to complete my husband's procedure or see my son. We were stunned with the way we were treated as we made the 3-hour-trip back home. The only explanation I can think of is that we were told of the doctor's mercury toxicity by his wife/office manager that she said had caused him to be irrational in his behavior in the past. read more

This place will take appointments for smaller children, Let them sit in a chair, tell you they don't work On little kids, at all, refer you to another dentist, and still charge you for them. My kids are 3 and 5. Appointments were made for both of my children, I told the receptionist (dr. Mullen's wife) they each had 2 preexisting cavities. I wanted second opinions on ways to handle kids cavities but they couldn't even tell me that because "we don't work on little kids". Yet, they charged us almost $300 to tell us that. They shouldn't have made the kid's appointments if they knew they could not help. When I called to discuss a partial refund for their lack of follow through, the receptionist hung up on me. If you are looking for a more natural option, tell a regular dentist, no fluoride, or there is another holistic option in Springfield that my sister goes to and is very happy. read more
