Ozarkland is one of my favorite restaurants break stops on I-70. Clean restrooms upstairs. Lots of souvenirs and fun things to look at /buy. They have freshly made fudge and candy at the register. Other than that, they are limited on food. Still a happy place to stop and stretch your legs if needed. read more

This is your "CLASSIC TOURIST TRAP" but it's also a fun place to stop - maybe not everytime you're in Kingdom City but at least once every year or two. It's been about 2 years since my last visit to Ozarkland -- so it was time. It remains a classic, kitschy, touristy kind of place. It's hard to resist the appeal of these classic old places. One of their highway signs says it best - "it's a road trip tradition". If you're looking for fudge, chocolates, quality knives, t-shirts, sweatshirts, travel gifts, nicknacks, etc. this is the place to stop. They've got a little bit of everything. Another place that we saw on a billboard. This was on the drive between Indy and Kansas City. Always heard about the Land of Ozark and I guess on this trip at least it's the closest we're getting to it. Ended up being your typical tourist trap. Honestly nothing overly exciting. We did end up buying some sponge candy to compare to sponge candy purchased in Buffalo that we were bringing to our friends. No comparison! Our was light with a melt in your mouth texture. Really cool place to stop! If you have a few on your road trip....make this stop. They have SOOOOO much stuff! Something for everyone. Something for all different tastes! Food, snacks, old fashioned candy, fudge, clothes, toys, knick knacks....just all kinds of stuff! Just one of those places that you will definitely walk out having bought something. And I did. Touristy, kitschy, and as others have (hilariously) pointed out, loads of "Made in China" patriotic knick-knacks. Come to Ozarkland for the laughs, and stay for some road trip snacks. You will undoubtedly know you're smack dab in the middle of Missouri when popping in here. I'm just NOT a knick-knack kinda guy. When we moved this year, I was pitching every old thing I could find like it was trash night. I couldn't imagine buying a Missouri license plate that's been folded into a purse, or a "Live, Laugh, Love" sign unless I was doing a bit. So safe to say, I am not the target demo here. However, I enjoyed stopping in here and was glad my friend veered his car this way. There's a lot of funny stuff to take in, and it's more memorable than a typical road stop gas station. Bathrooms are upstairs if you're making a pit stop, and the candy is front and center when you walk in. We ended up with some saltwater taffy that was good, and they have fudge but skipped that. If anyone reading this has me on their Christmas list, you can skip Ozarkland. But for anyone looking for a light hearted stop on a road trip, this is a place to stop. read more

I am giving 5 starts for sheer novelty and it being a more entertaining rest stop than a gas station. We enjoyed our stop here! We stopped near the end of a four hour long drive on our way to pick up our new puppy. There was lots of interesting things in this store. The road signs touted their taffy in a way that made us think there would be a lot bigger of a selection, but what they did have was awesome. Lots of bizarre little souvenirs in here, but a lot of it is things that other souvenir shops have too, and not necessarily unique to the location. Regardless, we enjoyed our visit and found a few things to buy. read more

Wow, this place is a dump. Ripped carpet and tape, filthy walls, nasty bathrooms, and junk stacked up on shelves. Yuk. A fair knife collection but overpriced. They have candy and fudge but I have to say based on the condition and lack of cleanliness of the rest of the joint I'm afraid to even try it. read more

We were traveling from Hermann to Kansas City, and I stopped at Ozarkland. It's a staple in Missouri, not just the Ozark area. I don't like trinkets, and have no use for them...but my stomach likes fudge, and my feet, Minnetonka Mocs. Ozarkland is also a great bathroom stop. I walked straight to the Minnetonka display. It's right where you enter the front door. I bypassed all the made in China crud that litters the store...my quest, a new pair of mocs. I spent many years around the Lake of the Ozarks and visited that Ozarkland hundreds of times. I tried on several pair, had a near melt down of extreme joy. This will be my 6th pair of Minnetonkas, I know, overkill, right? But this is one of the few stores that sell Minnetonkas in Missouri. They have a slim selection, but worthy of writing a review on. To me there's no other reason to even stop here, except for fudge or moccasins. They have several other things, tshirts, scarves, ugly souvenir hats, and Confederate flags just for a note of ironic and nauseating things you can get at this store. And fudge. We bought fudge, and it tasted like a PayDay. The best I've had...and I bought moccasins. I passed up the other stuff. I mean, who even cares? They no longer carry Blackhills Gold, atleast at this location. I would've written half the review on those rings. Ozarkland is one of my favorite stops for shoes. And fudge. And bathroom breaks. First off I just want to say that I'm not a fudge person but I'm amazed by all the different flavors they have. I'm have a 4 hours drive to my hotel this morning and I saw a sign and decided to check it out. This place is huge! It's like a one stop for all. They have candies like assorted taffy, chocolate covered pretzels, huge assorted chocolate candy in the show case and a nice amount of different fudges. They sell toys home decorations, t-shirt, caps, woman hats, cowboy hats , shoes, purses, socks, jewelry...you name it, they might have it. I was on a schedule so I didn't get a chance to go up stairs to look around. Seems to be running by only two couples in this huge place. I end up taking with me some more fudge for gifts and shot glass and candy. They basically have everything and anything a person would want in one spot except they don't sell gas or hot food. It was fun just looking around and to stretch your legs when you've been on the road. read more

This particular Ozarkland is a roadside stop between St. Louis and Kansas City, a country store featuring fantastically creamy fudge. Pulling off the interstate was completely worth it just to try their phenomenal rendition of chewy praline fudge!!! We sampled three flavors of fudge and countless taffy flavors, enjoying them all! Ozarkland also has endless bins of taffy, and sells old-fashioned sodas, homemade jams, and kitschy signs and items for your house or yard. On the painfully uneventful drive across the state of Missouri, this stop is much needed and breaks up the monotony quite well. read more

There are more than a few kitschy signs along the highway advertising Ozarkland as a destination but I had not planned on going until seeing it was across the parking lot from the service station I stopped at. I think I was expecting something more quaint, it was really just a cheerfully painted shop with an avalanche of odd and offensive merchandise inside. There are two stories of souvenirs, clothes, knives, travel mugs, and some home decor. The confederate merchandise is in poor taste and I was surprised at how much they stocked. Everything seemed like there had been an attempt at organized merchandising, but it was just a picked over mess. There are restrooms upstairs but the odor wafting from behind the doors was enough to chase me back downstairs again. It would be unfair not to mention what this shop does well and that would be the candy. In addition to a cut to order fudge and by piece candy counter, there are also isles of candy with a very good variety. I saw a lot of things I haven't seen since my childhood and even a few things I'd never seen at all. I bought one salted caramel fudge square and it was excellent! The fudge was rich, the caramel was gooey, and the sea salt gave the flavor such a pop! The size was generous and lasted me a few days of tiny tastes. read more

This is a really cute stop for traveling in the Midwest especially in Missouri! It's an easy on and off from the highway. The store has so much to look at you could literally spend over an hour in there! Which I did and I loved every minute of it. I ended up getting some fudge from there. Their fudge is a great price! Needing an electric orange camo ball cap in hunting and outdoor themes, 37 varieties of fresh fudge, t-shirts and ill fitting underwear sporting cornball hillbilly humor, fake rattlesnake eggs, fireworks, cinammon toothpicks, Route 66 mugs, keychains, shot glasses and miscellaneous bric-a-brac (never mind it's several hundred miles away) and more Elvis, 60s and the like you didn't know were available for sale? It's all here. And more. Way, way more. No, you can't even guess. A store so over the top in kitsch it's a photo-bomb destination for tourists such as ourselves that need a break from tedious I-70 and its wall-to-wall porn, anti-abortion and Jesus saves billboards. Semis with large tractor trailers driving side by side under the speed limit while cars stack up behind them wishing to pass. See, I like places like this in a way. In another way, the Ozarks are about a lot more than anything here. In a part of the U.S. where meth is the primary means of support at least this is an honest living. Oh, but the t-shirts are all from China, Guatemala, Vietnam and other far flung parts of the world. Apparently the work of the Orange Lord has not yet taken hold, but I'm sure it will soon and everything will be made right here in 'Merica. Don't hold your breath. So who buys stuff here? Well, I bought a single piece of fudge, and darn fine if was. There, made a sale. Can't say I won't be back. There's too much to offer here. This place wasn't bad. But it wasn't great. It's your typical, overpriced, gift shop on a road trip. There's a gas station next to it that has a few better things, at way better prices, and have a bathroom. We ended up buying a few pencils for the kids, but everything else had insane price tags on them for what the item actually was. The staff wasn't the most pleasant the first time I went in. The second, they were a little more busy. Not very helpful. More of the get you in and get you out type. Some of the merchandise was kind of cool, but again, not anything I can't grab off of Amazon way cheaper. I like to go places just to be able to say I did, and that I checked them out. So if you're that kind of person go for yourself. Otherwise, skip them and hit up the gas stations instead. read more

This place has some interesting things to browse through and maybe even purchase. It has a pretty good selection of chocolates. I personally like the large dark chocolate pretzels, the milk chocolate double dipped peanuts and the milk chocolate turtles. There is semi truck parking as well so that is a huge plus since l can park Cherry Red for a short while or even overnight. read more

Whenever I drive through Missouri I stop here to get some of their fudge. Definitely worth the stop for the fudge if you're driving from one end of the state to the other. They also sell items that you would find in any other gift shop. read more

I was in the market for local honey, we called in advance and asked if they carried "local" honey and was told yes. Now my definition and theirs is 2 totally different things as I now know. My definition of "local" means honey that has been harvested within a 40 mile radius of the selling place. Their "local" honey is harvested over 3 hour drive away in the Ozarks of MO. The second disappointment was as I entered the establishment I noticed that the isles are not even close to being "handicapped" compliant. I am wheelchair bound and there was not a single isle I could get to much less go down and shop. I was very lucky (I guess) that the honey display was right in front of the check out counter. I would have loved to shop around in the store but that was not possible thanks to all the isles being jammed packed and blocked with displays. read more

Interesting things to see when you're in Ozarkland! I felt like I was in some time warp because of all the items they have. You'll find fudge upon entering, some taffy and jarred items. I bought the fudge (three types - cookies and cream, caramel praline and sea salt dark chocolate caramel). The fudge is one of the best fudge I've had!!! It's two stories and they have random apparel upstairs and they sell moccasins as well. It's so random seriously but you somehow feel like you've stepped in the heart of the midwest. If hunting gear doesn't scare you or random 'men of the woods' lurking around, then check this place out! hah read more

Ozarkland is your typical roadside tourist trap, a lot of useless toys, gifts, and household decorations that will probably never end up getting displayed. However I have to admit it was fun to walk through and look at how incredibly tacky some of the items were. Ozarkland also sells/makes their own candy/fudge, which I personally didn't try however I did see several people sampling and buying so I guess it was pretty good. If you are driving though and have some spare time to kill it might be worth checking out, otherwise I would save the 15-30 minutes and continue on to my destination. read more

A lot of the useless tourist junk that you just browse instead of buying. Don't let the "ozarkland" title fool you -- it's more than an hour away from the lake and hardly has any souvenirs that are Ozark-related. Some Missouri-related stuff, and even some stuff for Texas, Iowa, Alabama, etc. You could fake a whole vacation with the souvenirs! The point is, if you love the Lake of the Ozarks, this place isn't really worth your time. (Oh and the bathrooms suck. Good luck finding a sink that works!) read more

Staff was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Asked a younger man to help with getting a ring out of the case and he basically was too lazy to open the drawers and look for it because the numbers were labeled wrong. Left empty handed and not going back. Also none of the staff had masks on while preparing food or helping customers. read more
